Rolling his shoulders, to help release some of the tension that had built up. Having wondered the streets just to be out and among the people after visiting his children, the mouse was pleased to find himself in front of the Bar and Pub.
This place held quite a few fond, and maybe not so fond, He thought to himself remembering a night that too much alcohol had lead to a brawl that had landed a high bill for repairs.
Entering the pub he was assaulted by the smell and sounds. Ah, he had missed this. Glancing around he tried to spot if there was anyone that he knew that he could join or if it was going to be an evening of being alone or making new friends.
Not spotting anyone that he knew well enough to get drunk with he made his way toward the bar.

Ader might not have spotted anyone he knew, but he certainly had been spotted by one who knew him. Rai's ears came forward with interest as he watched the mouse head for the bar, debating on whether or not he wanted to be alone that night. Perhaps if it had been anyone else but his old drinking buddy, but Rai tended to find the mouse amusing and restful, despite the fact they so often found trouble together.
With that in mind, the stallion waited for the the waitress to bring him a mug of beer. When she finally came, he spoke to her quietly, detailing another glass, a pitcher of beer-- a far higher quality than what he used to drink-- and instructions to tell the mouse at the bar to come join him at his table in the back.
It was amusing, but not surprising, that Ader was walking about so easily recognizable.

He was just deciding on what to order when a pretty waitress came up to him. Giving her a charming grin of welcome his eyes widened in surprise when she informed him that someone was awaiting his presence in one of the back, corner booths. Leaning to the side tried to make out who it was, unsuccessfully. Intrigued and leery at the same time he thanked her before heading over to the place that she had motioned to.
It was as he got closer that he finally recognized who it was. Posing with the weight of one arm on the cane, he gave his long time friend a grin. "Well if it is not the old chap, Whip. I must say it has been a while since we have seen each other." With or without his friend's permission he took the empty seat across from the equine.

"Not that old, thanks, Ader," Shinrai answered with a flat look. He shook his head as he waited for the waitress to return with the pitcher and glass for his friend. "I trust your Court is going at least a bit better than mine?"
He was, as always, behind on paperwork, but he had left anyway for this little vacation. Also, he was supposedly meeting an emissary in the Capital in a few days, so he'd come early to 'scope things out'. Supposedly, at least. He was relieved when the woman came, however, allowing him to force his mind to move on to other things.
He graciously poured out for his friend and handed the mug over with an ironic tilt of his head. "Wot have you been up to?" he asked curiously. "I haven't even heard any rumours since the takeover."

Scratching his forehead the mouse gave a sigh. "I guess you could say it is going better than yours . . . though we are still a little low in our numbers. Had a big influx right after I took over but things kind of calmed down again." He gave a small scowl into the amber liquid that filled the mug his friend had passed his way. He was always hoping that more people would take interest in the Club Court - numbers played a big part when it came to doing things for the suit.
Giving a shrug he shook off the feelings. Giving another grin over at his friend he continued in a teasing tone, "You are missing me over there in that giant court are you?" Taking a deep sip of his drink he mimicked the equine's action of titling his head to the side in consideration of his own. "So wot is this that I hear of you having yet another litter of spawn?"

Rai nodded in acknowledgment of Ader's words about his Court, drinking down part of his glass as the mouse talked. It wasn't really surprising that the influx into the Court of Clubs had slowed down after the initial burst. That seemed to be a common thing, actually. Except when he had taken the Court of Hearts. They'd lost a few officially, but things had really just stayed the same. At least Ader had managed to get some sort of influx. "Do any of your current Face Cards have any family friends that might be interested in joining?"
Still, he wasn't entirely opposed to a change of subject, especially not to the topic of his children. He couldn't help his justifiable pride in them. "Yes, four this time; three boys and one girl. One of them is human." That was quite the bragging point, though he tried to not make it too big of a thing. All four of his children from this birthing were wonderful.

He gave an amused chuckle at the fact he was so proud that this litter was only four children this time instead of the seven from his first - poor Mnem.
At his friend's mentioning that one of them had been born a human his eyes widened in surprise. "I had heard a rumor of that, though I though it was exaggeration. A human? Congratulations, that is quite an accomplishment."
Taking a few more sips of his drink he allowed a small, comfortable silence to fall between them before putting his mug down. Not that it was really any of his business but the mouse just could not resist the chance. "Who is the mother, by the way. I do not think I recall you mentioning any significant someone in your life," he asked teasingly. He was betting that the equine had not fall for another trick like with Mnem.

Rai was quite proud of the human baby, as well as the other unusual children in this group, though if he knew Ader's thought he would insist that he was just as proud of his first set as well. It was just that his first seven children tended to give pounding headaches. Nevertheless, he still greatly loved his children, all of them, perhaps despite the wide range of quirks among them.
Though all of that was true, he still occasionally found himself embarrassed of the mother of these children; not that there was anything wrong with his King, but he still struggled with what could be an illicit relationship. He tried to keep his uneasiness from showing as he said casually, "Her name is Sekhmet; I don't think you've met her." He did hesitate then, before admitting, "She's one of my Kings."

At his last comment about her being one of his King's he just raised an eyebrow, knowing that he could not really say anything on the matter. After all his own son had come from such an event and he would probably be thinking true if he though that Rai's kids came from a more agreeable circumstance.
"No, I do not think I have. You will let me met them, yes?" He asked simply smiling. It had been a pleasure to help raise the first bunch it would be a pleasure to meet the newest bunch.
Taking another sip of his drink he put it back down a little harder then he meant to when a sudden thought occurred to him. "Oh! I do not think word got to you yet. Elyse just recently had her kids! They were born three months early due to complications" Something close to anger passed through is eyes for a second at that before he continued cheerfully, "Four girls and a boy."

"Of course you'll have to meet them," Rai answered firmly. Aderlass was family as well and it was only fitting that he meet the four children. He couldn't describe his relief when Ader let the King thing slide by. He was aware of the way Ader swung, but it didn't really bother him since, basically, he was uninvolved with that aspect of his friend's life.
"Congratulations to you and her," the stallion said lifting his glass towards Ader before taking a quick drink for the toast. He didn't miss that flash of emotion that had shot through the golden eyes of his friend. "Complications, though. . . That's worrisome. Wot happened?"
He was curious, but he didn't want to press too hard if the mouse didn't want to talk about it, since that was obviously something that could be quite touchy.
