"Thanks it means a lot." He gave the equine a pleased grin. "I will even let you meet them, if you wish. They are special bunch." He paused for a moment, weighing his words before speaking up, "One more so than the others. She is whispered to be of a rarity indeed, of something only mentioned in child's stories."
At his friend's question to the early birth the mouse frowned again looking down at his mug again. It would probably do him some good to mention it, to get it off his chest.
"She almost died from those kids. They have some . . . special mutations . . . one of them has beautiful glass ornamentation . . . but it almost cut her up inside. If it had not been for her father-in-law, there is a high chance she would have died along with those kids." He tried to suppress a small shudder.

Rai's eyes narrowed at the mouse's insinuation. There was one thing that immediately came to mind, but. . . surely not. Right? Thing of legend or not, at least she was safely in this world and available for meeting later. Rai put that part from his mind, therefore, and concentrated on Ader's further words.
The knowledge that Elyse nearly died was frightening and caused the stallion to sit up higher. "That's horrible," he said quietly. "Though I'd love to hear how Theofilus was the saviour." He drained his glass and set it back down on the table with a thump. "In any case. At least tonight we can drown our sorrows and forget all about troubles and problems." That said, he filled his mug yet again and raised it up to his friend. "To new beginnings and the ability to forget the past."

Whatever his feelings might be for the Diamond that alone was something they were all grateful for. He only allowed himself to worry over it for a few seconds more before forcefully shaking it off.
At his friends suggestion the mouse could not help but grin back. This was indeed just the place to drown away all worries, sorrows, and stress that seemed to haunt them in the day to day life.
"To new beginnings and the ability to forget the past, indeed." The mouse repeated before taking a big sip of his drink to back it up.
It would be an interesting night indeed.

Tiny watch: This miniature watch only ticks and moves at midnight and feels strangely tingly to the touch. It could be magical if used on the right person. If your character doesn't match the watches' type though...it could cast a rather...interesting curse.
