After taking a sip from his mug he titled his head in thought.
“You know, now that you mention it. I do not hang out with any Hearts . . . other then yourself of course.” It had never really occurred to the mouse to think about before this moment, but now that the equine had brought it up the mouse suddenly realized that it was indeed the case. Most of those he spent his time with on a usual basis were either Diamonds or Clubs, but most if not all of that had happened by chance.
“I suppose that even though the view of the different Suits is a little more relaxed in the Capital, there is still the harsh presence of . . . what is the word I am looking for? Of certain views of the different Suits and what it ranks the person as. You know that Hearts are extremely prideful, the Diamonds their snarky $%@, and so on and so forth. All of it tiring business when you get to really thinking about it.”

The stallion tilted his long head at the other man, and he gave a small laugh. "Any pride a Heart gives off is due to the true reflection it is of their nature." He winked at the rodent before giving a low, throaty laugh. Ah, it felt so good to just laugh for no other reason than he found something funny. No political games, no 'how will so-and-so view this'; just pure and simple laughter.
He wasn't overly alarmed by Aderlass' words; Hearts generally seemed to draw near to other Hearts. He had always assumed it was mostly that way with the other suits as well. He was a bit odd one out because of his close tie with Elias, but those were extreme extenuating circumstances; most people did not watch their brother be ripped apart by Lowlanders, nor did they nearly die themselves. Perhaps he was just 'special'. He rolled his eyes at that thought.

The mouse was about to have a retort for his friend’s words but at Whip’s out right laughter he raised an eyebrow in question, his come back completely forgotten. Man the stress must really be getting to his friend if he was acting like this.
“My goodness friend, look at what the Court has done to you. I think all of the stress and pressures are really getting to you if you are acting so . . . out of character” The mouse replied in an amused tone. He was not going to contradict his friend out of his easy laughter; in fact he had long since learned that it was something quite healthy. Goodness knows he supported the habit. Just laughing was good sometimes.
“I propose a toast to laughter and stress relief. How long has it been since you were last laid?” He asked his tone completely obvious in its light and joking nature.

The stallion blinked and stared at the other man and gave another small snort. He'd thought he was finally acting like himself again, but evidently not. Light, he was tired. Tired and stressed. He really wished he wasn't, but, then again, that's really why he was here. And he was pleased to have Aderlass keeping him company. He raised his glass to the mouse in another toast of appreciation before taking another deep swallow.
However, at the reference to his sex life, Rai nearly spewed out his beer, which really would have been a shame, because for all that it tasted terrible, it was his only outlet of alcohol right now. Definitely not a chance worth taking. So he swallowed hard and had to cough it back up the right pipe. "Ha!" If he'd had any tales to share it would have been differently, but it really had been awhile. Not that it was any of the mouse's business.

The mouse could do nothing but chuckle hardily as he nearly caused his friend to choke on his drink when he received the kind of reply he expected from the equine at his question. He did not, nor did he truly want, a reply to that question. Some information, even between friends, just should not be shared.
It really did seem that the Court was taking a toll on the horse, not that that was bad really. After all, from everything the two of them had mentioned to each other it was the kind of job that Whip would enjoy and also be psycho enough to actually be able to handle it.
Amused at the situation at hand he continued to laugh in merriment, taking another swig of his drink. It was definitely going to get to him soon, if it had not already.

Aderlass certainly had the right of it; Rai greatly enjoyed his time at the Court even though he just wanted to complain for a bit to help unwind. The alcohol and good company was beginning to work through him and he was pleased to feel his body finally relaxing, even it was just a little bit. Perhaps, he mused, he should try to get a massage or something.
He wasn't entirely certain what caught his attention at first, but grey-green eyes went to the door in time to see an Avington ram stepping through the door. Their gazes locked and a look of horror crossed the other man's face. It was so striking, so deep, that it made Rai freeze, the hair at the back of his neck raising.
The ram whirled and darted back out of the bar, and Rai rose instinctively, and darted after the other man without a word to Aderlass.

The mouse was content with the comfortable silence that had befallen the two of them. He sat back, enjoying his drink, waiting for their conversation to pick back up when it was ready.
That was till his companion abruptly stood up and started to leave. Startled he looked up at his friend, eyes a little wide with curiosity and surprise. "Whip? Wot is it?" He called out after his friend, starring after him as he headed out of the door without a second word.
What would cause such a reaction in his friend? He definitely had not said anything that would cause him to leave so abruptly . . . maybe he had forgotten about something and suddenly remembered? For some reason that did not seem to explain it either.
Deciding the best way to find out what was going on was to follow his friend, he got up quickly following his friend, afraid he would lose him and not know what was going on.

There was a faint outcry from the bouncer at the door as the stallion shot by without paying, and there was a chance he'd try to stop Aderlass as well, but the bartender knew the stallion very well, and he would call off the ox at the door if needed.
The outcry only briefly distracted him, and as the stallion hit the street, he paused outside the door just long enough to scan the streets. He caught sight of the man careening around a corner and shifted forms automatically so he could clatter after the ram.
The Avington had a headstart, however, and Rai wasn't sure he'd actually be able catch the sheep. That strange look flashed through his mind again and Rai determinedly threw himself forward, galloping full out. His hooves made a sharp sound as they slammed against the ground. He gained swiftly on the other man, noting in the back of his mind that they seemed to be heading towards the cemetery.

Following his friend out of the bar he found himself coming to a halt as the huge form of the Ox blocked his path. Not willing to waste with the bill while his friend acted so strangely, he called out his shoulder "Tab!", glared at the Ox and then slipped out. Man some days it was a gift to be so small.
Exiting into the chilly evening air, he looked around him a little wildly. Where had his friend managed to go?
Finally spotting his friend's infamous cloak as it followed its' owner around a corner. This time cursing his small form and the speed limitations that it placed upon him.
Struggling to catch up he manged to keep his friend and the running Avington in his sight. His friend was going to owe him a beer for this, he thought, cursing as he stumbled over the uneven pavement.
