As soon as the creature gave them a direction, Se was walking off, leaving Ira to finish his threat without a care from his youngest brother. He ignored it when the older boy caught up with him even as he followed the sludge trail that was the 'road'. The whole place was a pigsty and he thought that in the absolute worst possible way.
All in all, their journeying in that particular direction didn't take too long time-wise, though the pit-holed and poorly maintained path made it difficult to keep their footing. Se's wings were soon covered in mud, just like his feet and legs. The dirty brown and grey did not flatter his yellow colouring, but the boy remained oblivious even as they finally caught sight of another little hut a short distance away.
"Pitrotter!" the boy bellowed suddenly as they entered the yard, unconcerned that they might be trespassing.

Heaving a sigh she followed her other brothers. Honestly men they knew and did nothing useful. Instead of seeing to their own needs they were obviously off on some useless tangent.
Grumbling under her breath she followed after Ira. She blamed V for all of this. If he had not wanted to run away like he usually did then they would not be in this situation.
When they came upon their newest destination she wrinkled her nose at the hut. It looked like it was about to collapse instead of hold strong.
"What is all this yelling about?" Came an angry voice from inside the hut, followed by the figure of a horned lizard. "What in all that is precious rot do you want?" The last was sneered out as if it was the most distasteful thing he could ever encounter.

Vishne kept himself safely behind Ven at all times as they followed their very determined brother to the shop, pretending that his pelt stood out not at all in this scenery. Now that he was actually in the Lowlands, he wanted nothing more than to get out. Slaying some magnificent beast or something so he could tell Dad all about it would be wonderful, in theory, but in practice he was too damn terrified of everything around him to do anything of the sort. The thought of going into a store run by Lowlanders with knives was horrible, and hearing the man actually speak at them was even worse.
He hoped Se got what he was looking for so they could just slink off home in peace. And in one piece. He didn't like the look of Pitrotter.
"Ven," he said, in a small whisper of a voice. "Can we go?"

Trotting along through the muck wasn't as bad as one might initially think; at least, not for a young man who already didn't mind getting dirty.
Ira came a bit more to attention as the thing came out of his hot, filled equally with hate and shouts as pretty much any other merchant Ira had ever seen before. His head tilted one way then the other as his ears came up in interest.
The horned lizard's eyes locked suddenly upon the Marshdweller and, unlike those in the town, he didn't cower away. Pure hate lit through the man's eyes and he straightened a bit, as though he were preparing to attack. A smile curled the edges of his lips and his own body tensed in preparation as well. He was quite ready and happy about getting to fight off the adult, especially since he knew Se wouldn't stand for it and the boy, though young, was fairly bulky.

"I need a dagger," Se said quite as though his brother and the man weren't about to kill each other right then and there. "It needs a slot for poison. Wot do you have?"
The man stared at him in some surprise before he shuffled over. Despite his bipedal form, his left foot was rotted away, leaving a strange stump that had a piece of partially rotted wood attached to it. The man bent down to get into the winged boy's face, speaking so the spittle flew out. "What kind of idiot do you take me for?"
Se stared back flatly. "The regular kind. Wot sort of *$(% daggers do you have, you piece of rotting flesh?"
The lizard hissed angrily, jerking back from the boy as though he had been burned. Se's eyes narrowed at the man. The stares from the children were unnerving.

"And where would we go?" She replied to her twin. While she would not admit it she as willing to leave their traveling companions. However, considering the area around here it did not seem wise for them to go haring off on their own. Though it did not really seem much the wiser to stay with them either. Talk about rock and a boulder.
Watching the interaction between the horned dragon and her youngest brother she flicked her ears back. She was not going to get close enough to him to be included in whatever was going on. She liked her hide just where it was, thank you very much.
Glancing toward her brother she then glanced toward Ira, wondering if either of them had any clue what was going on. From all appearances Se was on one of his tangent missions of which their was no end till he got bored or whatever it was he was seeking.

"Home," Vishne said, inching away from Ira and Se, who seemed fully intent on making something horrible happen. He didn't want to die. If Ven could get them out of the Lowlands alive (and Vishne knew she could, because Ven, like all girls, was smart and brave), they could run home and never speak of this again (thoug of course Ven would probably taunt him with it at every turn; that was okay; that was preferable). He did not want any part in whatever fight Se appeared to be picking.
What in the world did he want a knife for, anyway? And why would he have to go all the way to the Lowlands to get it? Vishne was liking this less and less. He didn't want Se to have more weapons with which to hurt people--among those people possibly Vishne himself, or Ven. He didn't know if even Ven would be able to take Se down.

Ira had no real choice but to stand with his brother; not that he would choose to do anything else anyway. The teal horse moved up closer to his youngest brother and kept that rather crazed smile focused on the man. The Lowlander made an ugly noise, but he certainly didn't seem willing to try his luck with the pair of them, especially since there was backup not too far away.
"You won't want what I make," the man finally answered flatly. "You need to go up the road to the next town. Talk to Niklaus."
Ira's ears tilted backwards at the information, wondering if that was really what they wanted. Still, this guy wasn't successful enough to justify an attempt at any quality goods. His smile was hard and he bumped his brother with his shoulder. "Let's go. He doesn't have wot you want."

Se listened to them talk, but it wasn't entirely clear if all the words were getting in. He rose when Ira bumped him, however, and turned his tail to face the Lowlander, yet another sign of exactly what he thought of the man.
They were on the road again, then, moving past falling down, decrepit houses that didn't seem like they could still be standing. And yet families moved in and out of them, groups of living rot that really didn't have any right to live. Se moved to the front of their group again, ignoring any complaining from their other two siblings.
Ira, however, dropped back to give Venka a winning smile that lacked the hostility he'd sent to the Lowlander. "How goes it, Ven?" the colt asked curiously. It was doubtful that he was asking just to be nice, but he must have a reason behind it.

Oh yay! So now it seemed that they were going to keep on moving. This was just great. Her perfect dream. Curse her brother in more ways then was physically possible plus sum. If it had not be his need for attention and love they would not be in this mess. Foolish needs that one did better without. This was proof of it!
Continuing to curse her twin under her breath she followed suit, cursing their quick pace as well.
When her brother fell back to ask her a question she lofted an eyebrow. Ira never talked so easily with her, not unless he had another reason for doing it. "I am stuck in a place that more then half is rotting away, My hooves are tired, I am hungry, and we are following him! How do you think I am doing?" She asked him.
