The Lowlands, how he hated it but... he just couldn't stay away forever, especially not with loose ends haunting his former home. He had a purpose, and a meeting planned today and thus he wished to attract the least amount of attention as he possibly could ... which meant he'd be creeping in on four legs instead of two. That, in it's self, irked him to a high degree... he didn't like using this form and it felt rather strange actually. But there was something else, a more pressing agitation, and it needed to be addressed. For the longest time now he'd gotten that itchy feeling that someone was following him. He wasn't entirely certain at this point, but he was pretty sure he knew who it was. He knew this path better then the back of his paws and so he kept walking as he looked back, catching the movement of a tail painted in that delightful shade of terracotta that he knew so well. He paused, thumping his tail against the dusty ground as he peered back behind him, a frown tugging at the corners of his muzzle, damned weasel-rat was following him, wasn't he? His tone was flat and almost entirely monotone as he spoke, but there was a little pinch of agitation mixed in there as well. You know, Morpheus, you're not as sneaky as you think you are. He'd wanted the damn boy to stay back at the palace, but of course he hadn't... he was bound to follow him somewhere eventually... at least this trip didn't have any real dangers involved in it. As much as the mix annoyed him, he didn't quite want to risk his hide .... yet. Just ... come out already. He was ... rather impatient after all.

Stay behind.... with nothing to do and no one to talk to? No, that didn't sound interesting at all. He wasn't very well liked around the Spade Court any longer and he knew it.... and there was no way he'd stay there alone for several days any longer. Going to the Capitol, like he usually did to eat up his free time, just didn't sound very appealing at all. Besides, he was curious as to what his mother was doing this time, his behavior had been slightly off and it intrigued him. So he'd followed him, taking extreme precaution to begin with but now.... now he was getting lazy. And, damn, the rat had picked up on it to. Perhaps he could hide, maybe play some nice little mind games with his mother? That sounded terribly nice, but alas, he'd forgotten about his tail and by the time he'd pulled it into his hiding spot Osias had seen it. And there went all his fun, he knew very well that the paranoid rat wouldn't just turn around and keep going now that he knew he was being followed... it was a shame really. He'd had such delightful little idea to! With a huff, and turned back ears, he slunk out from behind his rocky hiding spot and slunk up to the older lowlander, looking a bit peeved at that. His tail, far thicker then Osias', twitched a bit in agitation before he blew a wayward lock of emerald away from his nose. He couldn't keep all of the disgust he was feeling from tainting his voice, or his features. Why are you .... here? Of all the potentially interesting places his dear mother could have been going .... he'd picked the Lowlands. On the other hand, he finally got to see his mother in his lower form and the fact that he was, indeed, larger then the rat now brought a bit of pleasure back to his face as he moved a bit closer to him and attempted to loom over his mother. His grin was toothy and devious and he puffed himself up to go match. Now this might be fun, the rat did have quite the short temper....

He continued to watch the rubble pile and waited as patiently as he could, the mix couldn't possibly stay still for to long. His tail tip twitched and one rounded ear pinned it's self against his skull as he waited, eyes narrowing ever so slightly. He was rather impatient by nature, but being here only amplified it along with his normal, almost constant state of agitation. The Lowlands were, and probably always will be a rather touchy subject for him, especially since he'd left it so long ago.
Just being here rattled his thoughts and brought out a rather large amount of slumbering ghosts were awakened here... and only here. But on that same note it was ... comforting... it was .... home. And he hated it.
Soon enough his suspicions were confirmed and a long bodied, younger lowlander was slinking out from behind his rock pile and looking rather annoyed in return which only caused his other ear to swivel back against his skull.
Because I have business to attend to.
And now the weasel-rat was... looming? How very ... annoying. He sat back on his haunches just enough to reach up and grab a handful of that emerald mane and pull the boy's face closer to his own and simply growled before giving it a yank and letting go. He would not let idiotic antics frustrate him further, thus he got back onto all fours and continued forward, listening to the boy chatter mainly to himself.
He picked up the pace a bit, the sooner he arrived at the house, the sooner this could all be over and done with. And then he could leave, and all would be well.

At the yank to his hair he relaxed his form and put his own ears back and glared at the rat for a moment. How could one card have the completely annoying 'talent' of sucking every ounce of fun out of... everything? And, considering that he was already moving off again, he was quite obviously not even going to give him an argument. He did so love to argue with his mother, the rat always came up with such delightfully colorful, and often times physically impossible, responses. But alas, he'd be getting nothing in return for his idiotic behavior today... pity.
He rolled his eyes and took up a rather bouncy gait behind the rat, green eyes scanning the dusty landscape and crumbling buildings, commenting on things as he saw them. People actually... lived here? He could maybe see visiting, just to get away from any form of... civilization but to actually live here.... wow.
A small amount of realization flitted through his mind and his ears perked forward in intrigue. This was an awfully strange place for someone as obsessed with cleanliness as his mother was to be conducting any form of business, unless of course he had some kind of... attachment to the place. He pieced all the little tidbits of logic he had together before trotting up beside the rat with an almost cheshire grin.
You used to live here... didn't you?
He knew his mother very well, his quirks, his habits all of that... but he didn't really know anything about him. Come to think of it.. .well.. .he'd never really asked anything before. This little trip might turn out interesting, or at least informative, after all.

He was feeling strangely... protective of the weasel mix presently... he really shouldn't be here, not at all. He may have been of this region... but he still stuck out like a sore thumb. His coat was a richer color then most, his markings were more bold and... refined, he was fully filled out and well... he wasn't rotting. At the last thought a little bit of superstitious thinking came to mind and he beat it down with a mental stick... one didn't simply start rotting from being in the Lowlands. That was just... stupid.
He hadn't noticed that his son had trotted up alongside him until he spoke and it took every fiber of his being not to bristle and act defensive. No, he certainly wouldn't give the hybrid the joy of that, he'd never hear the end of it for sure. Instead he only stiffened slightly and turned a rounded ear to the boy, a motion which could certainly be passed off as agitation.
The question almost made him pause, it wasn't often that anyone asked him things like that. It was a simple curiosity, but... unexpected. Morpheus had never really wondered anything about him before and it was... somewhat pleasing, but at the same time it was just a few steps from rousing some rather bad memories.
I did... a long time ago. That's where we're going.
And it was in sight as well, not quite as run down as the rest of the houses they'd gone by but it still wasn't pretty. But... it was the Lowlands afterall....
+++++++++++++++
They walked along in silence until the pair reached the door and the rat shifted up to his bipedal form and gave a very slight sneer down at the weasel/rat. he knew the boy was oh so jealous of his ability to shift, and he loved it.
He also knew of the perfect revenge for earlier as well, especially since he was standing right in front of the door. Thus he simply smiled and lifted a fit to rap on the wood and stepped back .... oh this should be good.

She'd been waiting for the last twenty minutes now on the other side of that door. She knew today was the day Osias was supposed to visit, although he'd been short with her on the details of why .... she was just rather happy that he would be coming to see her at all. his presence here had become rather scarce, and only seemed to be getting more so as time went by. She missed the days when he was here once a week ... but she guessed that he was simply busy. And then there was the knock that she'd been waiting for, she knew his knock by heart. Twin, rotting tail sent themselves into motion as she hopped forward and flung the door open and launched herself at the closest figure behind the door which..... very much wasn't Osias. Her eyes widened as she looked down at the green haired lowlander and she instantly back off, bowing her head and apologizing to such a degree that it was hard to make out what she was saying. _____________________________ He arched a single brow as he looked up at the rat. He knew he was going to do something, but he had no idea what that something might be. And why .... did he move away from the door? And then it hit him, quite literally and ... well .... in the form of a canine. A canine that was .... rotting! He made an odd little squealing noise and scrambled to get the nasty thing off of him. Oh suits ... the rat hadn't been lying .... they were worse then him. He backed off, a look of complete and utter disgust painting his features as he stared at the apologizing thing. By all the Queens that ever lived he hope that rot wasn't contagious .... oh suits ..... ew. He shot his mother a rather dirty look, a growl rising up from his throat as the fur down his spine began to stand up. Suits I hate you sometimes ....

He didn't have to wait long for his reward and he couldn't even begin to deny himself the deep chuckle that he'd been holding back already. That ..... was priceless, and he enjoyed seeing the look of disgust cross the boy's face .... good. If he hadn't been disgusted, well, he would have been forced to knock a bit of sense into the boy's thick skull and he just wasn't in the mood for that, not today. He had business to attend to after all, business that would be arriving soon.
Tamah this is my son Morpheus, Morpheus, this is Tamah ... treat her however you'd like.
He lingered for a moment seeing if the canine would cry at the introduction, he did so love it when she cried. Sadly it didn't look as if she would just yet ... oh well. He would make sure she did later.
His tail twitched and he walked into the house, his old home, knocking the canine out of the way as he did. She didn't matter to him, after all, even though she seemed to be under the impression that she did. Silly girl.

Her gaze lifted from the ground and just happened to pass over the younger lowlander's chest and she caught his rank. A Queen, oh suits she'd disrespected a strange Queen! She was fully expecting some form of punishment or another but it didn't come, he simply scrambled away from her with a look of utter disgust. He was a lowlander himself why would he ..... oh! Another scan of his form and she saw something, or a lack of something, that caused her eyes to widen again. Unless she was hallucinating ... the boy was whole. A bit of jealousy coursed it's way though her veins, sharp and enough to far from ignorable .... and then her heart sank at the rat's words. His son.
But she wouldn't cry .... not in front of him .... not again, and simply dipped her head, apologizing once more and using the boy's name instead of sir.
When the rat knocked her out of the way she had to bite her tongue not to let out a yip of surprise, but she got the hint and moved herself out of the way so the Queen could pass without touching her once again.

He eyed the rat for a long while, glaring at him. How dare he do such a thing to him! If it had just been the two of them he probably would have allowed himself to pout .... but he had to at least make this .... thing believe he was far better then her in every way imaginable.
He sneered and stepped through the doorway after his mother, brushing his side against the door jam just to make sure he was as far away from the canine as he possibly could be. Gads if there was one this horrid working for mother, he didn't even want to imagine what the rest of the region looked like.
Green eyes scanned the interior of the house and found it to be ... not quite as bad as he imagined it would be. It looked clean and organized, no surprise there since apparently the rat used to live here .... but it was still just not aesthetically pleasing to him. Not in the least. Especially with the cracked tiles he could see from what he assumed was the kitchen, and the cracks in the walls and celling.
Definitely not his thing.

He stepped into the room and went straight toward a rather nice, rather comfortable looking chair and made a motion for his son to join him on the matching sofa nearby soon after slipping into said chair. He was early, like he usually was, and planned to use the time to relax and maybe, just maybe, catch up with the son he barely got to talk to anymore. It was his fault they didn't ... but he could try and make up for it every now and again, right?
Once the boy was settled he turned his head and peered at him, looking him over with more scrutiny then he ever had. He really was growing into quite the handsome boy, wasn't he? Well, perhaps not boy .... he was considered an adult now, wasn't he?
So Morpheus tell me ... what do you do in the Capitol?
He'd been curious for quite some time and now seemed like as good a time to ask the young queen as ever ... especially since they were out of the court ... it was nice to be out of that lace for a day.
__________________________
He followed his mother and went toward the offered seat, investigating it carefully before it seemed to pass some sort of test and he hopped up on it. He stretched himself out and draped his tail over one of the arms, he wanted to make damn certain that the canine wouldn't try and sit with him. He didn't like her in the same room as him .... much less on the same seat. Besides, mother had told him to treat the girl however he wished, hadn't he?
His gaze slid over to the rat when he got the feeling of being watched and his ears perked forward curiously .... why was he.... staring? It made him a bit uncomfortable, but he perked right back up at the question. So mother really did care!
All kinds of things really ....
And he went on about all of the different things he did. For now the.... not so illegal and as the conversation progressed he got into more f the darker details, which seemed to just delight his mother. Good, good .... he didn't feel bad about doing them anymore .....

After about an hour of listening to the two talk, and thinking about all the things that her beloved Osias having a son meant, there was a knock at the door and it jarred her from her thoughts. This must be the company he'd been expecting! She got onto all fours and moved toward the door, opening it more slowly this time and cocking her head to the side at the sight of the .... rat? Pretty little thing, for a corvie, and most definitely not any elation to the primarily weasel cross on the couch. Good, no jealousy here.
Good afternoon miss, how may I help you?

Alure had very rarely left Corvistowne, she didn't like to, she didn't see any need to most of the time. Today had been an exception. She still wasn't exactly sure what she was being summoned for. The letter she had received was vauge, simply stating when and were she was needed. The fact that she had been summoned by a Queen was the most shocking part of all. She had been a sheltered creature, and this would be the first Queen she would meet, and was admitedly extremely nerveous. She found herself on the doorstep at the appointed time. After taking a few deep breaths to clear her mind, she lifted a paw and rapped on the door. She could hear the muffled movements from behind the door before it was opened, her head canting to the side at the sight of the canine that opened it. The first thing she did was take note of the femme's rank and suit. She bowed her head, though she was of higher rank than the femme, she was the guest here and respect was too be shown. I was summoned to meet Sire Oasis here. I hope that I am not late.
