As he listened his ears drifted backward, no .... there wasn't a cure ... he was certain of that. At the very least he wasn't going to start getting his hopes up now about one, not after so many years. that woman ... she just wasn't his mother, not anymore. That ... other woman had taken over and he was certain the mother he knew was long dead and buried in an untraceable tomb. No, he wouldn't even get the slightest tingle of hope that she might be fixable.
My only concern is if it's genetic or not.
His tone would have been flat if it hadn't had the slightest sharp edge to it. He ignored his son's question, the answer was to it was obvious and shouldn't need to be reaffirmed anyhow.
Oh he didn't like being completely brushed off! he flipped his pointed ears back and wrinkled his nose at the older Lowland male. which, of course, didn't gain him any attention, nor did the huff that followed.

Alure nodded. That seemed like a simple enough request. Do you know of any other mental health problems, maybe further back in the family tree, or is it just something that your mother shows? She decided to get as much information out of Oasis as she could before she actually met the person in question, because once she did, she had a feeling that she would be too wrapped up in determining the possible cause of the mental issue that she would forget to ask the one person that might be able to answer them. Her ears swiveled a bit, picking up the little huff coming from the other male, but paid him no other attention than that. It would seem that he didn't like to be brushed off. Could there be a little bit of a center of attention complex going on there?

In all honesty I have no idea ... my mother was an only child and her parents died long before I was even born.
He twitched his bony tail a bit in thought ... his mother didn't say much about her parents really, only that they had left her enough to set up their rather decent home, decent in lowland standards. And, honestly, he'd never really cared ... when he was younger his mother had been the only thing that had mattered to him, and the only friend he had. Now that he was older and had his own kid he understood that the way she went about the whole ... parenting thing was rather insane but that ... didn't matter anymore did it?
Morpheus fought the urge to frown, that being a rather unattractive facial expression after all ... but he really didn't like being ignored. Well that and there was nothing to really look at or ... do here. It was surprisingly dust free but he supposed that was from his mother's obvious influence over this particular household ... but he didn't want to leave quite yet ... not until he saw this grandmother of him. He was curious to see what sort of creature could have spawned someone like his mother ...

Alure nodded, fidgeting in her seat a bit. She was itching to meet the woman and knew that she wasn't hiding her excitement very well. Well, I don't think I have any more questions for you, but I may think of some later, if that is OK. She glanced at Oasis, her head canting to the side a bit as she did. She knew that her eyes were completely giving her away, but she was at a point where she didn't care. She had a nasty habit of forgetting the ranks of others when she had such a tasty patient being dangled in front of her face. Would it be possible to see her now? She wasn't sure how sedated they kept her, and it didn't dawn on her to ask just yet. It was the only way she was going to be able to at least start to figure out if her insanity was hereditary.

He simply nodded before lifting a hand and snapping his fingers, his somewhat rude way of calling for the canine that he knew was listening in. How she heard so much with bandages wrapped over her ears he wasn't entirely certain, but he knew she was nosy, but at least he didn't have to wait long for her to be at his side.
Tamah had heard the 'summons' and rose up onto all four of her paws and stepped into the room that everyone else was in, ignoring the other two and keeping her blue eyes on the master of the house, what could he possibly want?
Osias ignored the canine for the time being and returned his attention to the other rat. This was a business meeting and he'd be kind to her ... for now.
Would you like to meet her sedated ... or not?
Tamah finally understood why she was here ... if the other woman wanted to meet the mistress sedated she'd be the one to give her the proper dose of powder, if not .... she'd probably be the one to lead her to the ferret. Either way ... she could finally be useful to her Osias.
Morpheus, on the other hand, was pretending not ot care at all about what was being said, but he was still listening. He wouldn't be able to deny the fact that he wanted to see this woman, wanted to meet a relative outside of his parents and Varestes. He was interested ... but he didn't want the rat to know ... .and tell him to go home or something equally as lame.
