Parzifal stared for a moment when the man finally stepped into the relatively bright light of the moon through the clearing. He didn't look like he was from anywhere near Tulgey and the young man mentally berated himself for even wondering. He also looked to be in bad condition, just from the way he stood and how confused he sounded. Lost Outsiders, gah... at least he was half Tulgey himself and could claim some right to be in the Wood, even if he got vaguely disapproving looks from some of his master's visitors.
"Outsiders shouldn't be in the Wood at all, much less this deep," he said bluntly, straightening himself up from his forward lean. His voice sounded thick, as if his tongue wasn't quite as cooperative as it could have been, and it slurred his words a little bit. "You must be really, really lost to get here. I'm surprised something didn't already attack you."

He fumbled with the crusted fur and lowered his ears a bit more as he listened to him speak. He knew all of this, he'd been told countless tales of the wood and the myriad of reasons why he shouldn't be here and, hell, he hadn't even wanted to come here without a guide. If he weren't so bloody awful at reading maps, nor as trusting in them as he was, he wouldn't even be here.
And then one of those ears perked with intrigue ... so he was deep into the woods as he'd suspected but ...
Just .... how f-far in am I?
his tail, which seemed to be quite a large source of trouble for him, twitched from time to time as it rested in the leaf litter of the forest floor, making a small rustling noise when it did. The noise, combined with the boys last statement, reminded him of the bat .... and he had to shake his head at the comment. Something has gotten him, but obviously not something that ranked high on the danger scale of this realm.
By the Queen .... why did they want to live here then?

Parzifal frowned and thought. "Well, it would really depend where you came in from. You could be anywhere from three to six hours in from the closer borders. If you came in from the north, probably about six hours. From Torquehelm, maybe five. I don't know the distance except in walking time."
Obviously the man was incredibly lost if he had to ask, in essence, where he was. "You really shouldn't be outside at night especially. This is around the time when the Jubjub birds like to come out and hunt because a lot of the other larger predators are out, including the banders and a few other nasties unique to the area. You may be able to see or hear the others coming, but the Jubjubs are quieter and crafty. There aren't as many of them as, say, banders, but they're some of the nastiest of the lot and the biggest worry for Card-sized creatures."
He hesitated to offer the man any sort of shelter - he didn't know what sort of person he was or if this was all a well-executed act - but at the same time he couldn't just go indoors with him standing here.

Three to six hours? Had he seriously been wandering around in the woods for that long? He wasn't entirely certain if he should be thankful or somewhat weirded out that he'd gone that long without seeing well ... anything. But with the things the boy was talking about he was more inclined to believe he'd been fortunate ... especially since it was night time.
And then he started talking about all the things that roamed the woods at night and a shudder ran down his spine, the fur bristling along it's course. Oh suits there were things out here that could eat him wasn't there? He had a hunch they wouldn't wait until he was already dead either .... they'd ... eat him alive. Oh suits he was .... royally screwed wasn't he? He pulled his cloak closer to his form, trying to seek some comfort out of the green fabric, pale ears flopping down to the sides. He had a rather hopeless expression and the feeling, and fright, touched his voice.
W-what do I do?

Wow, this was a... very odd stranger. He wasn't at all overtly hostile and it was hard to believe it was all an act. If it was, it was a damn good one. Parzifal couldn't see through any potential ruse. Still, the fact that a hopeless wanderer would just happen to get this far into the Wood without becoming something's prey was miraculous and hard to believe. What was he supposed to do?
"This... isn't my house," he said finally after a moment. "I live here, but I don't have the right to invite others inside without permission and my master has already retired for the night. He doesn't like us disturbing him for anything less than an emergency." Whether or not this was an emergency for the man in front of him, Vren wouldn't be quite so amused, he was sure.
He tilted his head and shifted from one foot to the other awkwardly. "It isn't too cold out tonight. If you stayed close to the tower, you would probably be fine. Most creatures don't come too close to here because Master's been known to trap quite a few of them and it's a dangerous place for the uninvited. You would be fine here, though."

His ears twitched a bit as the boy started to speak again, and momentarily made his hopes sink even more. If this wasn't his house, he couldn't help ... could he? His tail finally uncurled and flopped down on the ground, feathered tip twitching once before it stilled. Well ... it was night, and his did have his cloak but he had no idea where he was going and could potentially wind up far more lost then he already was. but ... that was the only option he had, right? Wrong, it was then that the boy continued and interrupted his rather negative thoughts.
One ear perked up a bit to listen as the young avian continued. It wasn't the most reassuring idea but it was definitely a lot better then wandering aimlessly through the woods. He nodded slowly, not really having any brighter options and started to move closer to the boy and the tower.
I t-think ... I could do that.

Parzifal also nodded slowly, leaning his body towards the light peeking through the window. He'd just come out to water the plants. This whole conversation was entirely unexpected. He would have to warn his siblings that there was someone outside so that they could stay in and not risk anything. The kinds of people who wandered in the Wood were usually either crazy or bespelled, and either way they could be dangerous. He wouldn't risk Poe or Imre against odds like those.
"Good, good... I doubt anything would happen to you if you curled up beneath this window or something like that. Then you could make your way out in the morning. It's much safer to travel through here during the day. You'll just go east for a few hours until the trees look lower and thinner, and then you'll find yourself out of the Wood. I guess you could go north or south too, depending on where you want to end up. Until then, I hope you can get some sleep. You're probably going to need it for the walk."

He peered at the window for a moment before turning his attention back to the avian and simply nodded before starting to move toward it. He had no intentions of sleeping, not with the reaffirmed notions that there were, indeed, scary things out in the wood that wouldn't think twice about eating him, but that was the glory of being a Club ... no sleep would be required. At least not for a few days.
Thank you, I wish ... I could repay y-your kindness.
He made his way over to the window and settled down, he may not of had any intention of sleeping, but resting his feet was another thing. He hugged his wings tightly to his body and pulled his cloak around him, enjoying the warmth and comfort it gave. When he figured that the avian had gone he activated his cloak power and turned himself into a shadow, nothing would be able to harm him this way. Really he should probably head off now, but he wasn't sure if there actually was something out there that could rip him out of this form and eat him... or something like that. He was honestly afraid to be out in the dark at all...
So he spent the whole night under that window, his form solidifying once more as the sun rose.

Parzifal didn't feel especially kind, making the man sleep under the window in the open. Even though he'd be safer there than wandering blindly through the Wood, it would have been far kinder to have invited him inside. He wouldn't have been allowed to do that, though. It just wasn't an option, not with the way the Tulgey worked or with the way his master worked. Vren didn't invite strangers into his house lightly.
"I do hope you find your way out again," he said as sincerely as he could. "At least try to sleep. It's going to be a long walk tomorrow, otherwise." Or so he assumed. He couldn't see the man's rank and often forgot the convenience of Clubs and their ability. He wasn't exposed to the suit on a daily basis.
"Good night." Pulling his wings closer, he ducked back though the window and closed it, clicking the little bar lock back into place. He couldn't tell Poe and Imre that there was a stranger sleeping beneath the window outside the tower or neither of them would be able to sleep.
