It was either a lack of intelligence or experience that made the sweetly deferential thing immune to the power of suggestion.... at least initially.
"Run away, sir? Oh no.... then someone would catch me! I'd be in so much trouble..." She'll of course be thoughtless of how her little paws clutch at her basket, distressed at the very notion of what could happen. "Oh- he'd beat me proper, sir. And take away the brush that Nanny gave me! Oh my...." Were her whiskers trembling? Of all the silliness! Clearly her nerves weren't what they could be...
"And well, who would steal me? That's just silly... I'm just a leveret, sir!"
(Will add latah maybe? Unless this is enough for you to post off of ^_^)

This really was an amusing distraction to an otherwise boring day of travel. Dorian crossed his arms across his chest in an at-rest position, one finger and thumb still fiddling with a curl that brushed against them. "Such a thing sounds remarkably unpleasant, yes. What a good little Leveret you are." He spoke as if he were speaking to a small dog who had just done a trick, with a fond yet condescending tone to his voice. She was pretty, but ultimately brainless. Another potential case of pot and kettle.
At the mention of a brush, he couldn't stop one eyebrow from flicking skyward expressively. Did the creature have any fur-care products at her disposal? It was an intriguing thought. Maybe that was how she kept her ears free from muck, despite the fact that they seemed prone to touching the ground. "And what brush is that, if I may ask? My hair has been quite troublesome during my travels, and I have nothing but a comb at my disposal."
((Oh, Dorian can babble on about... anything. xD))

In all fairness Laurelin was more along the lines of well-coached than brainless. There was a mi9nd there, but she knew far better than to let it show- especially to a Jack. Perhaps another leveret would have a more honest look at the little dear's personality.
"Thank you, sir." she'll of course reply to the praise, the change of subject more than enough to distract her from a potential fit of nerves. Her shybess wasn't earning her any points, was it?
"My Jack... he let me keep my brush. I am forever grateful gfor the favor. He told me that I should keep it tucked away, though. Does will be does, he said." Still, she found Dorian to be kinder still, lingering and giving her an excuse to pause her shuffling about with that silly basket. He was hardly unkind, and perhaps if she was honest he'd be more likely to let her find him again.
"It's nothing too special, sir. Just a pretty brush, but it has a knack about it for smoothing the tangles without pulling." Finally a glimmer of something other than the thoughtless submission due to a leveret sparks at the very back of her eyes, one long ear brushed forward as one might brush a bit of their mane in an attractive tumble over their shoulder. "But if you wanted... next time he sent me out I could bring it. Just in case. I could.... help you with your hair, if you'd let me. I wouldn't pull, I promise!"
Finally she works past her skittish exterior enought to make the offer, and though she knows well and good that she should be abashed with her own behavior, she can't help but flick forward her dainty whiskers in anticipation of the answer.

It seemed that Dorian had finally awakened some vestige of personality in the little thing besides 'shy subservience' with his idle question. Subconsciously, his arms uncrossed and he pulled a section of his mane forward, holding it against his shoulder with one hand while the other trailed its fingers through to the tip.
"It only makes sense that your Jack would allow you to keep it, if he wanted a well-groomed warren, unless there's something truly spectacular about the thing," Dorian agreed thoughtfully.
The idea of someone brushing through his hair sent a shiver of pleasure down his spine. He hadn't been pampered at all by anyone but himself since leaving his father's warren at a young age. It was remarkably tempting, the allure of a little vanity-primping. "And when, if I may ask, would you be sent out again," he asked in an idle tone. If it was any time within the next few days, he could probably delay his wanderings for the promise of a good brushing.

"Well... I go out almost every day." she'll hedge, eyes again slipped down while one paw lays atop the basket's handle and the one playing at her long ear drops amongst the many blooms she's gathered. "So I could bring it tomorrow. The Does, they always want something from outside. And some of them will want flowers like the others have, I bet. Even though they're all pretty." One might get that impression that perhaps there were a few Does too many in this warren, go figure. Then again- some Jacks didn't always know when to stop collecting!
"Would that be alright?"
The tinge of hope in the little creature's tone is unmistakable, really. Even with her eyes properly averted and ears drooping in a pleasantly submissive fashion, it manages to eek out. A bit of personal attention was something much missed, and she was sure to hear more pretty little praises as long as she was careful not to pull on his hair! Even if she was no more than a leveret, she had potential didn't she? Nanny always said she could be more if she'd just try...
And well, if it meant more time with the direct attention that gave her a thrill as much as it made her whiskers tremble, it'd be worth it to make some excuse to go out.

Under normal circumstances, Dorian wouldn't be paying such attention to a Leveret... but until he had his own warren, nothing was especially normal, was it? He wasn't necessarily dim, just entirely self-centered in his world view. This didn't prevent him from scoping out potential Leverets in other warrens that me may want to 'lure away' when it came time for him to form his own collective. He was reasonably sure that his father would be sending him a Doe, lest he risk his name blemished by an attention-deprived Jack offspring making himself a nuisance for other Rabbits. No, the Esterberry wasn't one to stand for such a thing.
"I believe... that would be acceptable," he agreed in an arrogantly pleased tone. He'd really missed such deference! It had never fully been directed towards him in his father's warren by anyone but the Leveret servant, but even that was more than he'd gotten over the past few years. He was a male meant to be pampered. "I can meet you again, tomorrow, in this very field. So long as you show up, that is..."
Perhaps the hint of a displeased tone would inspire the creature to greater creativity in escaping her warren for the day?

Sweetly deferential still, the little leveret gives her head a rapid bob of understanding that leaves her dainty whiskers bouncing. The tone, the phrasing, it was just the manner of thing necessary to subtly prompt so eager-to-please a Leveret.
"Oh yes... yes of course. I'll make sure I have to come out. They won't notice. The Does- they're always so uh... busy." Busy squabbling, maybe. Clearly the not too far off Jack had really gotten his paws full when it came to the sheer size of his harem. It really was the optimal warren to thieve from if ever such a thing existed.
"They'll want more flowers. All of them! I should go." Very suddenly the little creature became ansy, eager to start her inexpert plan so that it could be finished and she return. "I have to take these back. And then.... then I'll be back tomorrow. I'll hide the brush in my basket. You'll see!" Eager though she may be to grab up her overladen basket of blooms, she'll wait with tufted tail flicking for a proper dismissal. It wouldn't do to dishonor the little prince by bounding off.

So charming in her eagerness to serve him! Dorian loved to see a healthy subservience in Leverets, especially when directed towards him. He'd been sorely lacking in deference up to this point in his life, but that was all about to change as soon as he founded his own warren. Perhaps this little Morganberry would be a good addition, if he could woo her away from her current Jack? Having someone pamper him while he set things up would be far too pleasant to pass up.
"Very well, darling, so long as you promise to return," he agreed with a smile he thought to be dashing, accompanied as always by a small pose to best show off his young, attractive self. "I shall look forward to your attentions. Tomorrow then." He waved a hand at her dismissively, a habitual gesture on his part towards the 'lower beings', and began sauntering back the way he'd come.
Now that he had something to look forward to, he could begin to plan his assault against the susceptible senses of the young Leveret. Finally, his chance to make a woman swoon for him!
((Shall we call it quits here, assuming that much wooing is done, in preparation for the eventual arranged trade after Dorian is officially grown and establishes his warren in the Hisstor? ^_^))
