(Anyone and everyone! Woo! XD))  It was early morning... far too early for most people to be up, but when the whim of a Doe demands for it, a warren often had to comply. Whether the leverets were annoyed by this or not would be naively ignored as a particular Doe enjoyed a cup of tea, tooth-purring in delight as she plucked a freshly baked crumpet from a plate. An early breakfast was just what she needed. She'd woke up with a most horrible pain in her belly and she'd only assumed that it was hunger. When the gravid Hisstor Doe took a bite though, her face fell, turning to look at the flock of leverets that waited for her verdict with bated breath. "Why... it's so odd, really. I could have swore I was hungry... but it seems I have no appetite for it.." With a sigh, she placed the half eaten crumpet back on the plate with the rest, seeming aggrieved that she could not enjoy them. Another pain, and she winced, ears pinning back against her head in reflex. This time, it was much more powerful than before. Certainly not a hunger pain. Then, there was that moment that happens from time to time, when that guise of idiocy lifted for just a moment and a certain... clarity shone through the Hisstor crazy. "Oh dear.... Someone.. please go wake the Czar... I think it's time." |

Heike stretched as he rolled out of his bed. For a few minutes he stretched before hopping towards the door. He often got up early to make preparations for breakfast that no one wanted to bother with. To his surprise people were already around and active. His ears pulled back for a moment. Who would want help this early in the morning? Most of the does were asleep, and the Czar most certainly wasn't awake. Well, he might as well investigate. Someone bolted past him in quite a hurry so something important must be happening. It didn't take him long to find the source of the chaos. He slipped into the room quietly. "Is something wrong Miss Ashta?" he asked politely. She was... an odd sort, but he wasn't about to argue with his Master. "Is their any reason why you're up so early?"And where had everyone gone for that matter? |

When Ashta had proclaimed the whole lot of them her plight, they'd all scurried as if someone were about to kill them all where she stood in their panic. When she'd ordered them to find the master, she hadn't meant all of them! Honestly... Leverets could sometimes be such -simple- creatures. The next pang was intense, and it took everything in her to slide herself off of her chair.
She hadn't noticed Heike enter the room, but when he spoke up she gave a bit of a jump, turning wide eyes in his direction. Never had she truly been relieved to see a leveret. Delighted was usually the more common emotion, but being suddenly deserted by the other servants and in such a state, she certainly needed help. "Heike!" The word came out in a musical pitch, though strained into a higher pitch from pain and anxiety. "I... I think it's time... I'm scared!.... Oh...." Distractedly, she looked down when she felt the sudden sensation of warmth and wetness in the fur between her legs, amniotic fluid dripping down them. Panicked and embarrassed, Ashta gave a typical bunny squeal. "Is that normal??"

Heike's eyes widened. Ashta's water broke? That didn't give them much time did it? He cursed silently to himself, his ears pinned back on his skull. "Oh, that's perfectly normal. Let's get you to some place comfortable. Someone'll clean that up."
He hopped over closer to her. He had to know how bad her contractions were and... oh hell he wasn't qualified to deliver a baby! He shouldn't be so calm about this! He had never delivered a baby before! That was totally someone else's job! Anyone else's job!
"Everything is going to be fine Miss Ashta. I just need to know how much time is between the pain...." His ears twitched, they were still pinned back. They probably didn't have enough time to find someone who had delivered babies before. Books could only tell you so much and... why didn't they have someone on staff to deal with this?

Ashta was much to involved in her own ordeal to notice Heike's... hesitance. That was probably for the best, for the Doe seemed frightened enough as it was. He'd asked her a question though, and she blinked owlishly at the leveret as it registered.
"Oh.. um.... a few minutes now?" Her eyes darted about the still empty room. Some place comfortable... why was her mind so... frozen at that moment? She didn't have much time to think though before another contraction visibly rippled through her belly.
"Help me to my bedroom... I need to lay down!" The contraction seemed to have a similar effect on her throat as she squeaked weakly, reaching out and rather.. unceremoniously leaning against one of the Avington's horns. Well.. why not? It seemed like the perfect little 'handle' to take hold of.
((Ahahaha XD I apologize for Ashta. Also, feel free to 'nudge' things along and assume things like 'they go over here' or things like that. I don't mind a smidge of powerplay to nudge things along.))

Well at least his antlers were being put to good use. Heike smiled weakly at the Doe. Well she was going to have the babies sooner than he had hoped. Hopefully everything would go well. Dear White Rabbit, why was he the only one around with medical training?
They managed to get to her bedroom faster than he anticipated. He also managed to get someone to boil hot water for him in a bowl. He had to sterilize the area after all.
All right. He could do this. "All right, Miss Ashta. You need to take deep breaths and that should help with the pain. I need to see if... if... your cervix is dilated. That way I can tell if you'll be able to push on the next contraction."
His ears flickered. Where the hell was that other Leveret with the water and had anyone bothered to tell the Czar yet? Heike shook his head. He just needed to do his job. Which he did after a long moment's hesitation. "All right Miss Ashta. You need to push during your next contraction."

Awkard from both her size and her state at that moment, Ashta barely managed to get herself onto the bed before the next contraction. Unable to keep her composure, she cried out, voice a far cry from its usual sweetness. "Why does it have to hurt so baaad! Oh, no MAKE IT STOP!!"
But now the leveret was trying to speak to her.. saying something about... "My.. You're going to what?" She took a frantic pitch, struggling to lift her upper half up onto her elbows in half-protest, but all she could see over her belly was a pair of antlers. This was NOTHING like she'd imagined it would be! Here, sweating on her bed in pain, and her Jack still wasn't here. Where the hell was he?
"You're going to have me do what?? I... I.. I don't know..If I.. aaaAAUUUUGH!!" Well, it really wasn't up to her in the end... because she pushed anyways. To tell the truth, she really didn't have much control over what her body was beginning to do naturally. Was something happening? Was the baby being delivered? All these questions were swimming within the slurry of pain within her mind, but soon her stomach relaxed, releasing her from that steely grip long enough to gasp in a few breaths.
So... what had happened? Nothing, yet. One really couldn't expect much to happen on the first push for a first time mother. "I.. I don't know if I can do this Heike... I don't want to..." Dramatic, yes.. but natural... then again if someone didn't have much experience in childbirth they wouldn't know that. Bwahahaha...
((XD Hilarity. I'm going to have to draw that now, with the view from Ashta's eyes looking and seeing nothing but antlers and ears between her legs XD))

"Oh... Miss Ashta you don't have much of a choice. The pain won't stop otherwise," Heike said as he continued to feel awkward. Why couldn't a woman do this? Why did his master have older Does on hand or some sort of Corvistowneian? Heike inhaled sharply, he just had to remember all the information from the book.
"All right, with the next push, you'll probably feel a bit of a burning sensation, but you need to push until I tell you to stop," Heike said as he prepared himself. The baby was crowning and he just needed to slip his hands around the head when she pushed in a few seconds.
His ears twitched in protest. Where was everyone? Wasn't someone supposed to be here with water right now. Wasn't someone--anyone damnit-- supposed to check up on the SCREAMING DOE? Well, Heike was now throughly happy that he was a man and didn't have to deal with the pain of childbirth. He only had to deliver.

"I.. I don't know if I... Augh!" Regardless of her wishes, her body was doing the work for her, but this time she would at least attempt to aid the process. Sucking in a deep breath she held it and pushed. There was.. a sensation of... searing pain.. horrible.. She couldn't take it! The breath behind her push was roughly exhaled out in another scream but the work was done, and that sense of pressure was suddenly released. Ashta fell back onto the pillows, gasping for air. She was dazed, in pain, but the pain suddenly felt as if it wasn't there when the squeals of a newborn reached her ears... ~~ From just seeing the head of the little child, there was nothing out of the ordinary at all, save for the thick mat of black hair with a noticeable white streak. A push, and the nose could be seen, its white fur stained pink with blood. Then, it all happened in one swift motion and the wet, squealing thing was delivered right into the leveret's waiting arms in a rush of white, red and gold. It was a terribly skinny looking thing, but that wasn't the strangest of it. On every one of his little bunny toes was a long, menacing looking claw... still buttery soft from birth. One couldn't help but have a foreboding feeling that they wouldn't stay that way. It was a leveret obviously.. and male. ~~ Ashta smiled weakly at the sound of her newborn child, for that moment feeling at peace. It was obvious the Doe was still quite gravid, but it seemed for the moment her labor had eased. In multiple births, it wasn't uncommon for them to be several minutes to an hour from each other. "My baby... how is my baby?"

Heike's ears twitched furiously as he held the small little bundle of Leveret. This baby was such a strange sight enough that he paused for a few moments to stare. He hastily grabbed a blanket to wrap the baby in so he could be presented to his mother. The Czar wouldn't be furious over the matter--the Jack did like to spoil Ashta.
"It's a Leveret, Miss Ashta," Heike said as he carefully balanced the child and handed to over to the Doe. If more people were willing to help, this would be a lot easier.
Heike let the Doe spend a few moments with her newborn baby while he poked his head out the door. What the hell. Where was everyone? He shut the door quietly and made his way back to the Doe. "I'm not sure when you're going to have your contractions, but from what I can tell you have at least one more baby to go, maybe two. I'm sorry it's not over."
