Zuberi nodded, realizing she needed the physical contact more than she had thought. It was hard on her, being alone for so long. If she weren't so hopeful for a different love to enter her life, she might have even found it easy to become infatuated with the bat. From how Rhi had spoke of him it sounded like he was certainly a popular individual. It figures a man of his charm wouldn't settle for anyone except a woman who seemed so unswayable. Yes, they were a bizarre couple indeed, with bizarre children to boot.
When Hadrian yelled out, Zuberi couldn't help but blush. "Hey, mind your manners! Besides, you said I smelled first! Don't dish it out if you can't take it." Still,she couldn't help but laugh, digging Seth in the ribs. "Sorry kid, but neither you or your father can get away with having that much hair and not having some sort of scent."

Rhiannon's tail began to wag, the movement very slow and tenative. "I know, mom, I didn't mean to scare you... I was just fine, so you don't need to worry about me if we go back. And Hady will be with me!" Something in the back of her mind told her that maybe now wasn't the best time to be asking this, but she knew that she needed to ask them now. After all, Zuberi was here with them, and they could just go back with her!
Rhiannon's tail began to wag a little faster, but stayed where it was tucked between her legs. She saw that sad look enter her mother's eyes again, and let out a quiet whimper, licking the woman's cheek. At the positive reply, the girl yipped with excitment, bouncing all over her mother. "Really?! Oh, thank you mom!!"

Seth broke out laughing at his son's reply, beaming down at the boy and shooting a crooked grin at Zuberi. "She's right, you know. It's like they say, if you can't take the heat, get out of the fire.[/b]" the man scratched at his stubbled chin, then froze, turning his glance upon the squirrel once again. "Hey, are you calling me stinky?![/b]" he said, sounding offended, though his expression completely offset that fact. He flexed, narrowing his red eyes at the woman. "What you smell is the intoxicating odor of a real man![/b]" He playfully grabbed the squirrel, getting her in a playful and gentle headlock.

Heilyn had to admit she was extremely touched every time Rhiannon gave her a lick. She smiled as Rhi made a gesture to comfort her. Maybe finally... finally they can bridge this gap between them...
The woman expressed a fair amount of surprise when Rhiannon began acting like Hadrian often did. Hadrian, seeing the display of energy from his sister, began displaying his own by also jumping. His focus switched between his sister and his mother.
"Rhi!" she said with a half-laugh, though her voice was still touched slightly by the cry she just had, "Calm down! Just... I'm going to ask right now. Stay here with your brother..." she really hoped the woman would agree. After today's events, she couldn't bear to disappoint the girl. She... and Hadrian... needed some time away from the Court. She got up and walked over to the pair of them and couldn't help but laugh at the exchange of words. Mentally, she agreed with Seth's closing statement. An intoxicating odor it was indeed.
She stood before the pair with an amused expression on her face.
"Seth, if you could be so kind as to release her? I'd like to ask her something."

"Augh! If that's what a real man smells like, I might have to go the way of the Yarrows!" But she could hardly keep her tone serious; in fact, her giggles of mirth were choking her more than the headlock was. Then Heilyn came forward, and Zuberi was glad to see the woman composed. Heilyn was a frightening woman of strength and cunning; like her children Zuberi also found it somewhat disconcerting to see her broken down the way she had been.
"Oh thank goodness, the better half has come to save me!" Seth wasn't holding her with much force at all, so it was easy to pull her head out from his grasp even though it fluffed all of her fur comically outward. Smoothing it back, she grinned and stepped toward the woman. Once again in somewhat close proximity to to the bog dweller and now while she was in bipedal form, Zuberi noticed the obvious lack of smell. Her nose wiggled curiously, but she kept it to herself. "So, what did ya need to ask me?"

"Hey, I wouldn't complain so long as you and your lady-friends invited me along to watch,[/b]" Seth grinned happily, chuckling as he ruffled the squirrel's hair fondly. Zuberi was one of his best friends, he finally realized. He had really missed her, and was actually quite happy to learn that his children enjoyed the woman's company as well. With any luck, this would mean that he would get to spend more time with the squirrel. He could hope, anyway!
When Heilyn approached, Seth immediately relaxed his grip on Zuberi, grinning toothily at Heilyn. She was quickly followed by Rhiannon, who leapt at her mother's heels, tail wagging happily. Heilyn was really going to ask! How could the day get any better!
"Ask away, but I'm sure that Zuberi already knows what we're looking for.[/b]" the bat chuckled, grinning down at his excited and bouncing children. All the same, they should ask formally.

Heilyn felt a pang of jealousy at first, at the way they touched and joked. She had no idea who this woman was... paranoia began to rise... then subsided as soon as he smiled at her. There was no guilt in it. He had nothing to hide. She could trust this woman with her children and her lover.
"Zuberi, I- Rhi!" she put her hands on her hips and looked down at the girl and her brother following close behind, "I thought I told the two of you to stay put?" she really didn't want to guilt the woman into anything. Sighing, she turned back to the woman. Normally, she had no problem using guilt trips to get what she wanted, but this woman brought her daughter back to her safe out of the kindness of her heart. There was no arm-twisting needed.
"I would greatly appreciate it if you would watch over our children for a short period of time?"
Hm, Midori Beach. That place was hot wasn't it? She looked down at Hadrian. Poor little guy had a hard enough time in the Highlands during summer...
A small shop crossed her mind... A tall bipedal wolf with blue eyes and a black mane... perhaps he could help her again.

Zuberi's eyebrows raised in something akin to surprise. Things were... moving quite swiftly to say the least. She had expected actual reluctance from the parents to allow her to take the kids to Midori. Instead she was asking for her to take the kids off their hands! She had to urge herself to speak, for Heilyn was in fact watching her with an expectant look.
"Oh! I wouldn't mind at all. I love entertaining company and there's really so much the beach has to offer. Rhi has yet to see the place where I spent much of my childhood anyways. They'd have a blast." Then her eyes drifted to follow Heilyn's own gaze back to her son. Oh yes, the dilemma was as plain as the.. well.. fur on his body. "You know, I have an ability that would leave him stark naked to alleviate that fur problem... wouldn't grow back for a month though..." Zuberi grinned quite wickedly, but was sure to give a hearty wink in Heilyn's direction to let her know she was joking. "I can tell you've already been giving thought to his fur issue. I'll tell you until he sheds a layer of insulation or two he'll be utterly miserable. Any Solandrian I've ever seen in the area usually had a trim before going on vacation for sure."
She then glanced at Seth. "Come to think of it, we might have to shave you too if you ever intend to visit; I don't think you got any less hairy in human form."

A yes! Zuberi would take them with her! Rhiannon yipped with excitement, bouncing in place before leaping on her brother, sending them both tumbling to the ground. They were not only going back to the fabulous Beach, but they were going to shave her brother! She grinned up at Zuberi, her tail beating a furious rythym against the ground. "Do it! Do it, make him bald! It'll be so funny!" she cried, gnawing on her brother's ear. The even better option would be to shave all of his brown fur, leaving him with only the blue..
Even the thought of it made her giggle uncontrollably, rolling off of her brother and grinning widely at him. She would get in so much trouble if she tried that...
Seth scowled at Zuberi's comment. "Y'know, Heilyn has a loving nickname for this form, other than 'Mantrain'.[/b]" he said, eyebrows furrowing as he suddenly pulled his shirt up over his head, revealing a veritable carpet of chest hair. He flexed again. "...My other Biped form.[/b]"

Hadrian bounced with his sister. They were going! He growled and yipped playfully and in surprise as he was suddenly being tackled and knocked to the ground. He wrestled playfully back until Rhi spoke up. Then he looked horrified. "NO!" he cried, "NO BALD!" After all, it was that luxurious fur of his that made even some of the more unfriendly servants stop to touch him out of curiosity. And went to bite at whatever of his sister was in reach in retaliation to her chewing. He got up and tackled her when she rolled off him giggling.
As the children played, they did not see the full effect of what just unraveled itself before them. they would only see the tail end of Seth flexing and shirtless before Hadrian stopped to turn to look. Heilyn, however, was stunned. She wasn't offended or angry at the man in any way. She was just... speechless. A small ways away a small gaggle of housewives began applauding and giggling. Hadrian wiggled his way away from his sister and sprinted to Seth. He leaped as high up as he could, wagging his tail as he was caught by his father.
"You can't shave me, 'cuz I'm gonna be big and hairy like Dad one day!" he announced in a very proud voice. Because being hairy was something to be very, very proud of. The gaggle giggled louder. Heilyn just gave a stunned laugh and picked up Rhi. Looking at Zuberi she rolled her eyes.
"This is the man with which I have children and am planning on spending the rest of my life with," she came closer and gave him a lick on the nose, "If you don't mind, Zuberi, I would like to take Hadrian somewhere to find an alternative to making him bald."
