If the grungy corridors of the outer Bazaar where a bad place to be during the day, it was nearly a deathwish to get lost within them at night. Most were lured there through idiocy, while some had a false sense of bravery in that they thought they could handle whatever lurked within the dark. A rare few though, would stumble upon this area through sheer bad luck and a touch of ignorance. One particular Midori squirrel would end up in such a way, making a wrong turn into the unsavory parts of the Bazaar on her way back to the inn she had been staying at. At first, she thought she knew where she was going, but as the streets grew more ominous, and the sky grew much darker, she realized the error in her ways. At first, she tried to backtrack... but it drew her only deeper into the winding streets, and further away from any salvation. Zuberi's heart beat heavily in her chest, eyes wide as saucers as she carefully made her way down the dark, dank streets. At every sound, she stood on end, and every scuttle within the shadows sent her running away in terror. The squirrell didn't know how far it was to her Inn, or even if she was on the right side of town. She wanted to ask directions, but every shady figure she saw... didn't seem the sort that would oblige her without some sort of dire consequence. Eventually, with a wrong turn she would find herself at a dead end.. but it seemed empty. Exhausted, and needing a moment to rest, the weary Midori sat down on an overturned trash can. What was she to do?

Aegaku, irritated at his terrible sense of direction, released a sigh of breath. He fluttered his feathers a bit and shook out the uneasy feeling that was creeping up on him. The darker it got, the worse he felt. Out of fear, his 'night vision' was activated. He could now see a little clearer, but in black and white. Relief filled him a bit, but he still didn't trust his surroundings. He jumped at the site of some thugs heading his way and ran at his full speed around a corner, behind a couple of overturned trash cans, and into a small, gentle looking squirel. " Oh, my! I'm so sorry my dear. I was being chased down by a couple of thugs," he took a few breaths to calm his nerves, " Why on earth are you in this horrible place?" he asked out of concern. As he waited for a response, he sat down beside her and took note of her fragile features. Of coarse, with his black and white vision in place, he could not see what color she was or what region she was of, but he did not care either way. The cercumstance they were in allowed him to look past the fact of race or species. Not only that, but she was the same rank, a 5.

She hadn't expected anyone to come around that corner, and he was quite lucky that she had been sitting down and off guard, or else she might have reached out and... and... she didn't know what she would have done. The wild look in her eye died down, and she regarded the dark figure warily. She could only make out that he was a bird, and little much else.
"What -I- be doing down here?? What -you- be doing 'round dese parts, mon??? No offense, birdy, but you don' be lookin' like de sort who be at home in dark, dank allies yourself." Forgetting herself, she had slipped into a rather thick Midori accent. Normally when dealing with people even within her own kind, she tried to speak with a more common tone. It made her feel more.. refined. Lately though, she felt like she had been losing control over her ability to articulate in such a manner.
Her tone though, went into a hiss. "Thugs??? Then you be leadin' dem right back here, mon!" She gave a disgusted, frustrated sigh. It figures some bird-brain would end up bringing danger right to her.

He had been sitting outside the back door of a bar. His cloak hung loosely over his shoulders as he just waited and watched the people going by. It was dark enough for him to go unnoticed to those who were not looking for some one of his station but to the others he well as may have been a fly on the wall. Nothing was promising that night and his money was running low again. He had to find some one to prey on. The opportunity presented its self shortly. She was nothing like he had seen before; her colorations made her stand out against the grime and dust of the edge of the bad and good parts of town. He watched her carefully to see what she would do. She started to head in his direction and seemed too absorbed in where she was going than who may have been around her. As she walked right in front of him he knew that this was going to be a good night. When she was far enough away from his present location he started to follow after her. He smiled in the shadows. As he watched her at being lost in such a place grow he found it more and more delightful. Every twist and turn that caused her to become even more lost was just pure exhilaration she was slowly heading into a part of town that he called him and could recite back to any one like the back of his hand. Slowly he slunk after her, following every move she made wary to not be seen. She was perfect prey. As she settled down on an over turned trash can he made his move. She was too scared to go at directly like he would have wanted but a little fun never hurt any one and so he turned on his diamond charm and slowly came out of the shadows. “My lady, what ever is the matter?” he cooed in her direction.

It was the diamond charm that kept her from just screaming and bolting. Shivering with fright, her mouth opened and closed for a moment, as if forgetting how to speak. Finally, her voice came to her, albeit strained. "I... I'm just trying to find the Satherway Inn... I think I took a wrong turn." Why was she even talking to this guy? Maybe it was because he didn't seem like the typical sleaze one would think they'd find in a back alley. Even through her terror she could find him at least somewhat charming.. but then again that terror would not bring her to trust him.
How long had he been there? As he moved forward, she slipped off the trash can and put a defensive hand to her money pouch. Who knows how long the man had been following her; his coloring certainly made it easy for him to blend in to the generally grimy colors in the background. "I... I just need you to point me in the right direction and I'll be on my way."

Satherway Inn…she was a long way from her intended destination he thought to himself. He took another step towards her as he placed on hand on his chest and tried to appear as suave as he could, which wasn’t that hard for the canine. “ My dear lady…you have gotten yourself quite lost so it seems, Satherway Inn is a ways from here and I’m afraid that just pointing you the right direction could spell disaster for some one as delicate as you in a place like this.” He smiled and filled it full of charm before going on “I would be happy to show you the way…” and he motioned for the squirrel to follow him out of the beginning of what he knew was an ally.
He watched with a careful eye as she directly pointed out where she keeps her money and any other valuables on her person and it took all that he had to not smile sinisterly right then and there. He had to make her think that he was on her side in this matter if she chose to follow him, if not he would attack her here where she stood. It now was just a matter of what she would do next that would determine his next move.

It was obvious that the woman was quite torn. Should she follow, or should she refuse? He might be leading her somewhere where nobody would hear her scream... then again he could be telling the truth. He would have attacked by now if he'd intended to, right? She just wasn't sure.
Zuberi was oblivious to the fact that she'd managed to point out exactly where her belongings where, and her paw stayed propped there all the while as she struggled with a decision. Finally, she decided to stall.
"I.. I don't know... What are you doing out in this part of town anyways?" Her tone was more accusing than she'd meant it to sound, and she bit her cheek in self berating. Still though, it was quite odd wasn't it? If he weren't lost too, then she hardly could see what business he had in a place like this unless it was of a particularly unsavory kind.
