((DARK DARK I'M SO SORRY I AM THE LAMEREST t_t -grovels at your feet-))
Yes indeed, today was certainly turning out to be much more interesting than the man could have originally hoped it would be. It wasn't that he didn't like spending time with Alaster, no... It was simply that a woman as beautiful as this one was far more interesting than a sometimes-stuffy Highland guard, at least for the time being. If he could catch Alaster after work, that situation might have been different.
As they made their way across the court grounds, Apocalypse walked with his head held high, eyes focused straight ahead for the most part (he couldn't help himself - from time to time, he risked a glance down at the woman, marveling at the sheen of her feathers. He'd never noticed Morganberries much before, and now he was beginning to wonder why that was, exactly). When Suha began to speak again, the King slowed his pace, giving her a thoughtful glance. She spoke well, and if he had met her on the street he might have wondered if she'd grown up around nobles. She certainly had the ability to speak like one.
"I assure you, my lady, it's not a problem in the slightest. As I told Alaster, I was going to be heading in this direction anyway." He gave her an easy, carefree shrug, and a small smile. "Besides, as a noble, I find it to be beneficial to get a chance to personally meet with those who might soon be working alongside me." Now, he wanted to see how she would respond to that comment. She seemed to be the ambitious sort, especially arriving at the Court before obtaining a Face rank. This was one to keep his eyes on, and not just for her beauty.

Suha smiled demurely, "Many thanks, all the same, Highness." He handled himself well, certainly, and would have been considered rather handsome if not for his hands--she would have to find out about that interesting little anomaly at a later date.
She bent her attention to his comment, wondering what exactly he expected as a response; she had the feeling he would pay a great deal of attention to whatever she said in reply. She considered carefully.
On one hand, she could choose to remain oblivious of the obvious implications behind his statement, but that would be an insult to his intelligence; alternatively, she could be entirely honest, which would be unexpected to be sure, but she had never believed in playing all her cards at once; or, she could acknowledge that she understood, and keep her own council. The last was more to her taste.
βTo be sure, Your Highness; a worthwhile practice.β Suha smiled, βI do so hope a use can be found for me.β
