UPDATE::

So, Sakoshi is still in the shop. Being repaired. So far the keyboard and power strip thingy (power button, volumes, etc) need to be replaced.

Everything else sounds like it /should/ be okay and hunky-dory, hopefully, but they need the new parts to full see it. So, hopefully! I called today for a status check and they said sometime early next week.

I might/maybe/hopefully will have access to my aunt's computer (their visiting for the weekend) so I may be around but *shrugs* As things fall ...

Anywho!

Ku's comp came into contact with cranberry-apple juice yesterday (by completely unitentional circumstances) > < ;;;; He's in the shop being run through a diagnostic test (for free, yay family connections!) . . . but chances are high Ku's going to have to buy a new comp.

So while Ku has internet at home she now doesn't have any access to it. Whee~

So those are all the nice words she has.

If anyone recommends anything for laptops feel free to throw it up here. Ku's currently looking around the ~$700 price range and at Sony, Acer, and/or Asus.

Oh dear! D: The death of a computer is always a tragic thing.

Ummm... What can I recommend.. The lappy I've got right now is a little Acer netbook, and I freaking love it even though it's not so much designed to do anything more than internet and word processing stuff. It works well. <3 I think it was only $350 or so, too.

I... could give you recommendations on computers but I've been doing that a lot lately. Just make sure you get one that has one of those spiffy for free upgrades to Windows 7. So you have the option of sticking with Vista or going towards the new horizon. *SNORT*

Dark has an Acer Netbook, too. It runs WoW, so it has pretty good power for a little compy! And it's uber-portable! (And cheap! )

Oh damn, computer problems. XO Those are always awful. I'm so sorry! My own lappy's been worrying me a teensy bit with its battery life, but thankfully no malfunctions at the moment. The desktop fried its motherboard, though. Not bad for a six-to-seven-year-old home-built computer, but Brother's pricing parts to make a new one. For laptops, I cannae help ye at the mo. Just wish you much in the way of luck!

i'm glad your fizzy magnesium citrate thing is finally getting through your system and i again wish you luck on Sakoshi. : ( For being an HP, he's done fabulously well. i again say you should check the Dell through the NEX site. =P NOT Best Buy's Dells. <<;;;; Other than that, the NEX also has some other notebook types listed. =P *fluffs*

Update:

Got a call from ComTech. . . Sakoshi didn't make it. TT----TT ku almost started crying when she got the voicemail. His inner bits are being turned into an external.

Suppose to drop by after class today to pick that up and order the new laptop ;-; he said there /should/ be a 2-3 day arrival wait once he's ordered.
