Clunk. Oh suits this was so embarrassing. Clunk. Why had this happened? Why couldn't have kept his paws to himself? Clunk. The mouse choked back a whimper with each step. He was being responsible and he really didn't like it. His superiors had come to an agreement that he needed to see her Majesty to let her know of the situation. They couldn't exactly have the mouse run around the palace causing such a racket without informing anyone. It had to happen. He understood that. Clunk. This was painful. After what seemed like an eternity he was finally outside of the Queen's office. He bit his lower lip as he stared at the door. Using his flexible arm he lightly knocked, even though the clunking he had made was probably enough to alert anyone within a five mile radius where he was. He could feel his stomach knot as he waited for the door to open.

Donnie had been writing a brief letter to the arm of the Spade Court in the Capital, explaining her idea regarding a public exhibition for the visual and performing arts. Had been writing. Then her ears had twitched and caught wind of something... odd. Clunking its way up the hall. She looked up from the piece of paper and frowned, wondering who was carrying something heavy up this particular hallway. Didn't they know that they could damage the floor? It was nicer on this corridor and heavens forbid they have to pay replacement cost on some of the original masonry, even if it was only a few chips. She waited to see if the clunking stopped and it did... right outside of her office door. She gave the wood a mistrustful glance before taking her human form and standing. Whoever they were, they were probably holding something heavy. She sighed and moved towards the door, pulling it back and open with a wary curiousity. "Yes?" she began, and then stopped to stare in confusion. There was one of her guards. With...? A few more seconds of staring didn't produce better results. "Alright. What the hell is on your arm?"An irrational part of her brain wondered if this was somehow Mia's doing. Or Vessie. She was more likely. But Mia was the one with things protruding from him.

He felt awkward. More awkward than he had ever felt before. "It's a solid block of ice, Your Majesty." Ichigo said as he looked up at her with a rather pitiful expression.
This was already going so well. "I found a ring in the kitchen, and it happened to be cursed. When I attempted to pry it off this was the result. I came by your office to day, and I do hope I'm not bothering you Your Majesty, to let you know that something like that was laying around the Court of Spades."
He bowed his head. "And I was hoping that I could take a short leave of absence so I could get used to this unfortunate appendage without a danger of losing my job."
Ichigo stuffed the feeling of uselessness down as he continued to bow his head, awaiting a response. He just hoped that she wouldn't fire him on the spot.

...why do people feel the need to try on random pieces of jewelry?
Donnie stared at the mouse for a minute, eyes solidly on the blocky arm before she looked back towards his face. Her surprise left her more vocally irritable than she might otherwise have been. "Somebody just left something that dangerous layout around? In the kitchen? And... alright. You know what? Fine. Talk to the captain of the guard about a period of leave. I'm granting it. But you take that thing to an enchanter and have its properties appraised. I don't want your personality to randomly go through some sort of alteration because you decided to be cute and try on a bit of jewelry, and then be the one left explaining to foreign diplomats why one of my guards is barking mad. Oh, and make sure you have a Corvie look you over too. Damn. You really screwed yourself up."
And she would be having a talk with Vessatha. A long talk. Who the hell could have dropped - or left - something like that in the kitchen?
"The next time you see something suspicious or shiny, perhaps you would be so kind as to report it before putting it on? Maybe? It would be much appreciated."
This all just went to show that males acted before they thought.

Ichigo kept his head down out of respect and embarrassment. He could feel the shame welling up inside of him as he stared at he woman's feet. The mouse wasn't about to defend himself when he had done something stupid. Of course he never expected a ring to turn his arm into a block of ice.
"I've already spoken to the Captain and he told me to come to you, Your Majesty." Ichigo said quietly. "I would love to take the ring to an appraiser however if it still exists..." He tapped the ice with a paw to illustrate how solid it was. "It's somewhere in there, and it would seem that nothing can get through it. I am going to a doctor, however, and I'll make sure to have a report for the Captain and you, if you so desire, Your Majesty."
At her last statement, he could feel the trickle of blood flowing near his spine. Wonderful, just what he needed at a time like this. "Yes, Your Majesty, I won't do something this foolish again."

From her vantage point above him, Donnie could see the trickle of blood welling in the odd cut that people of his realm sported. Eww. She crinkled her nose, not entirely sure if she should comment on it or not. He'd said he would go to a Corvie doctor. That was probably good enough. They could deal with it.
"Yes, alright. That sounds fine. You still need to see an enchanter, though. Maybe get a recommendation from the doctor or do some research. Have your entire arm examined, if need be. You probably should anyway. Magic can sometimes penetrate what hands can't." Duh. Really, that one was basic. He probably wasn't at his most rational right now, though, with his arm looking like that.
Nrr. She didn't really want to do this, but it would probably be irresponsible not to. "Have the doctor and mage bill their services to the Court, as well as the results of their tests. Specifically for my personal attention. I want to know precisely what we'll be dealing with." That way she could decide herself whether or not this would be a public safety threat. Sometimes enchanted items could have very disagreeable side-effects.

Right. Enchanter. Right right. He took a deep breath as he tried to remain in control of his own body. He didn't want to bleed right now, but it seemed like he was going to anyway. That only made him feel worse about the entire situation. A wonderful downward spiral of shame.
"Yes, I will your Majesty. I'll see an mage and a doctor right away." Well. He still had a bit to do before he left. But he would get there as soon as his new appendage would allow him to. Just about everything he did was hindered now, all because of some stupid magical ring that he had stumbled on. Why had he bothered to put it on?
He looked up, clearly surprised by her generosity. She really wanted him to send the bill to the Court? "I-uh-Thank you your Majesty. I'll have the bill sent to the Court then." He bowed his head again. "Thank you very much for your time, Your Majesty. I'm sorry to have bothered you."

((Honestly, Donnie's just going back into her office to boggle at the stupidity of males and the randomness of magic items. And then she's going to call Vessie for a chat. xD We done?))
