Phaedra did not want to let him go--after all, they had many competent doctors in the region, and his condition had been the result of a magical artifact, and she still wanted to study him--but her guilt, surprisingly, outweighed her dedication to academia. For the moment. And she might as well seize the moment to let her conscience do what it wanted to.
"Where will you go?"
She didn't want him to just...slink off to die. The weasel told her about a healer who might be able to help him, far off at the Court of Clubs. If that was what he wanted to do...
She searched around the house and assembled a little kit, both of general traveling gear and medical supplies. She wanted to ask him to let her know how everything turned out. But she suspected he had little interest in doing so. Perhaps he could contact her on his own. But she suspected not.
The next morning, he was gone.
