Honker was still a shade confused. He backed up a bit, terrified that the boy would do something. He didn't want to be kicked or anything. His ears flattened as he listened to the boy talk to Lythero.
Lythero would have bitch slapped the boy if it were possible, and probably foamed at the mouth in rage. Instead he simply remained silent, and plotted ways on how to kill the bastard later. Or at the very least slightly maim him. If only the stupid swan dog would do something useful.
The swan dog swallowed hard as he slowly stopped cowering. "I'll be happy as long as you don't kick me or anything. That's all." He shrugged slightly. He wasn't about to ask for food from a stranger while they were in the middle of an alley. It just seemed a little bit awkward, even if he was slightly hungry. "My name is Honker. What's yours?"

Jak went from grinning to positively beaming. "Then you'll be happy! Noooo kicks from me, you got it! I'm not a kicker, I'm a licker." He paused for a second, the sound of his own words echoing in his head, before he burst out into a series of creepy little giggles. Rhymes! That rhymed! Heeeehehehe.
And aww, there was the name thing again. Everybody always cared about names. His expression went a little vacant as he thought, grin still in place. This was a new body made just for the occasion. It didn't automatically have a name. So what should he call it? Darn it, he hated these questions. Sometimes it was so hard to keep the names straight. His pause stretched on awkwardly before he suddenly snapped back to himself and focused on Honker once more. "Awesome name. That is an awesome name, Honker. I'm Gill. Yeah. Not as cool as Honker, but... hey, can you actually honk?"

Honker gave a sigh of relief. No kicking. No touching. He would be fine. He flopped down unceremoniously as he looked looked at the other boy. Gill was an interesting name. It didn't really fit the strange boy... he seemed a bit more eccentric. But then again most Tulgey's were... and they had somewhat normal names.
His ears perked up as Jak asked the question. Of course he honked! Instead of replying with a simple "yes" he gave the loudest honk that he could possibly manage, a grin spreading on his face.
This person may have been strange but at least they were fun and nice. "That's how I got my name. Mommy and Daddy weren't very happy when my brothers called me that, but it stuck."
Lythero remained deathly silent. His jaw, however, continued to stick out of Honkers abdomen. He wasn't going to waste the opportunity to bite down on anyone who talked back to him. If the boy got close enough...

Jak's already present grin exploded on his face and he gave a cackle of utter delight. Honk! Honk honk honk! Too bad this body wasn't a honker. Maybe he'd have to be a goose or a swan or something for a little while and honk his way through the Capital before somebody chased him away. That would be fun!
He danced a little in place and laughed some more. Weirdo. "At least your name makes seeense with you! If more people got names like that, maybe people wouldn't forget them so easily." But then, people forgetting names easily was sort of to the Joker's benefit, especially since he sometimes forgot his own body's name at the time and had to think up all sorts of bizarre excuses.
"Brothers. Brothers are awesome. How many were there in your litter? Little white babies rolling around everywhere. There were fiiiiive of us." Not that they were white. Well, they all had some white on them, especially in the beginning, so it sort of worked.

A low rumble escape from Lythero, but nothing more. Honker still backed up a bit at the sound. He didn't want something bad to happen, and he could never be too careful. The swan-dog blushed slightly at the compliment of his name, a grin on his face.
His tail had begun wagging, a clear indication that he was a good deal more cheerful than he had been before. "Well, I was adopted. So I was the only one of my litter. But Daddy and Mommy had a lot of kids before me. So I have six brothers and three sisters! We were a really big family!"
Of course not all of them were so willing to have him around. Either way Daddy said family was family regardless of blood. Things were a little different now since Daddy didn't know where he was but... still. They were all siblings.

Happyhappyhappy, they were both happy! And he wasn't sure Mr. Grumpytummy counted, since maybe he couldn't be happy or something. How sad. So they were all happy! Dell certainly was. Her wings flopped around on his back in the best of ways.
"Awww, that's so neeeat! Lots of family! Family's the best! I wish we'd had older brothers and sisters! That would be greeeat. We were the first, though. I don't know if there were more. I-" He stopped and got a funny look on his face. "I don't... know... if there were more. There might be more. I- I might have family I don't know about. Somewhere. Out there." On cue, his head swiveled all around, taking in the alley, sky, ground, and everything in between.
This sudden thought was absolutely blowing his mind. He might be related to other people. Other family he'd never met. Did Mom have any brothers or sisters? Did they have any kids? And how about Grampa? Did he have more relatives?
And... what about Papa? He'd never asked Papa about family. He was too little and Papa always got scared so easy. Was Papa one of a litter? He had to ask Amhal. Maybe his brother would know.
Taking a few quick breaths and hyperventilating with excitement, he jumped around a little and darted from side to side before stoping and staring at Honker. "You are awesome! You gave me an idea! I have to go! Good luck with Mr. Grumpy!" And as quickly as that, the "Tulgey" had scrambled away, winged cloak trailing behind him.
(( ... O_____o; I didn't know he would make that connection. At all. Wow, Honker, way to go. I guess... we'll see what happens later. He has the seed firmly planted in his head, though. Eheh. *keff* End after Honker's next post maybe? ))

(( OOC: <3 *marks as finished* ))
Honker was confused as he watched the boy. He suddenly seemed to be distracted by the idea of family. How couldn't he know if there were more? Had he run away from home like Honker? The swan dog was about to open his mouth but decided against it when he was being stared at.
It was unnerving. So very unnerving. Honker felt like he was trapped until the boy spoke again. "Thank you?" Honker said with a tilt of his head. "I'm glad I could help. Uh! Bye!"
He watched as the boy scampered away.
Lythero made a grumbling sound. Clearly he was unhappy by what had just happened. The swan dog gave a small sigh as he turned in the opposite direction. Might as well get back to going on the road to nowhere. At the very least, his tail would be wagging part of the way. It wasn't everyday he met someone.
