Xiven rolled her eyes in response to his statement. It wasn't like she was going to let the Joker run around the palace and do whatever he damn well felt like. The woman blinked in surprise when the King simply threw the wolf over his shoulder.
Well that was... good. She gave Apocalypse a small kiss on the cheek before they were on their way.
She watched in mild terror as he practically threw the wolf in the carriage. Oh, she really hoped he wasn't going to get brain damage from that. She almost jumped back when Apocalypse offered his hand as it was suddenly there since she had been spacing out. "Yes, home once he's patched up. And I imagine when we get there we should probably cuff the bastard so he doesn't try to shank you in the dead of night, hum?"
The woman took his hand and slipped into the carriage besides him.

"Or screw me," Apocalypse muttered rather dryly. "I'm not sure what would be worse."
He gave Xiven a playful roll of his eyes and then settled back, his fingers still twitching every once in a while thanks to the adrenaline still filling his body. There was nothing like a good fight to get the body feeling alive, he'd found, and if it weren't for the pain radiating from his arm, he'd almost certainly be in a much better mood. Ah, well. They were headed to the doctor's, it wouldn't be difficult for him to get patched up as well.
~~~
It wasn't, either. They were back at the Court, now, Apocalypse waiting by the entrance for Xiven, adjusting the bandages on his arm. When he saw her, he grinned broadly. "So. We've got him back here. What do we do with him now?" That was the interesting question. There were a thousand purposes for kidnapping a Joker, all of them perfectly valid. But he wanted to know what, exactly, Xiven was planning with this one. After all, he didn't seem willing to help them out.
Maybe they'd just need to break him a little more?
Xiven rolled her eyes, "Not everyone wants to screw you for the love of all the suits, Apocalypse."
Honestly. There were plenty of people out there, she was sure, who wouldn't sleep with the man.
---
Xiven cracked her back as she stood next to Apocalypse. "For one thing we wait," she said with a smile. "The man needs to wake up before we can have any fun."
The look on her face was like a child in a candy store as she walked to the private room. "You see I think it would be nice to have someone who could be a better spy than my dear... dear mother. Not to mention what else he might be capable of. To be honest I think he'd be a rather useful pet."
That was a horrible but honest way of putting it.
When she opened the door instead of a wolf, rather skinny man was staring back at her. He was cuffed to wall with a chain looped through the strange bone bracelet he was wearing. Of course shifting into his human form had undone several of the things the doctor had fixed, so the man was practically gushing blood again.
Xiven didn't seem to notice as she paused in the doorway. "It's... that... what?" It was hard to forget a scrawny person like that. Human forms were fairly rare and there was no mistaking that look.
As soon as Conway saw the pale form of Apocalypse he growled.
Slowly, Apocalypse ran his fingers across his chin, the woman's words making him shiver in a most delightful manner. When Xiven got possessive like this, dominating and clever - well, it made him hot and bothered, to be totally honest. Even when she was talking about keeping a man he hated as a pet. "Mmm, I do like the way you think." He said, resisting the urge to grab her and pull her close, though she'd see very clearly that the temptation was there. "...Of course, there's still the question of how we plan on doing that. You need to be careful with something like this."
He'd lead her down the hall to the room they'd put the unconscious Joker, monstrous thumbs hooked through his belt loops. "I've always felt confidence that honor born of fear is good, but when there's resentment involved, it's also rather dangerous. If only Lior was still here... I bet death is a good motivation to keep someone in line." There was a sarcastic tone to his voice, and he raised an eyebrow at Xiven. They'd reached the door and he unlocked it, ushering his Queen inside before following after.
A human form? Well, that was interesting. Apocalypse's lip pulled back in a sneer, his eyes narrowing at the man. Xiven's reaction was rather strange, but before he could turn his attention to her, the Joker was actually growling. There was no way for the man to know he was the one being growled at, so he simply assumed that Conway was growling at Xiven.
Apocalypse hissed, then slammed his foot down - hard - on the foot of the other man. "Show some respect," he said, sounding almost amused. "If it wasn't for Her Majesty, I'd have killed you. I still want to kill you, so please, don't give me an excuse."
It was terribly cute when he got hot and bothered. She would have had sex with him right there and then if she wasn't so focused on the prize.
And to her great surprise, the person they had captured was someone she had met. She didn't have enough time to voice it when Pale slammed his foot on the man's hand. She didn't say a word for a moment, instead she shut the door behind them.
Conway screamed and then promptly growled again at the man, half tempted to kick him in the ankles. He didn't give a fuck about who this damned woman was, he just didn't want to be here. Not in the palace. Not in a place filled with Hearts!
"You're the boy who liked girly drinks," Xiven said as she walked around Pale. "You have no shadow... so you must be the same person. I don't think that's something that can be faked."
Conway gave the woman a thoroughly confused look.
"Xiven. Does the name ring a bell? Last time you saw me I didn't have a human form." When she got no sign that the man knew who she was she shrugged. "Oh... well herm. What was your name again? I don't quite remember. Mind telling me?"
The man remained silent.
Xiven glanced at Pale giving him a cordial smile. "Just don't open his wounds or hurt that pretty face of his."
Wait, what? Xiven had known this man - this freak, Apocalypse might go so far to say, had he not been painfully aware of how strange he himself was - before now? In human form, if he'd been clothed, it was true... There would have been no way for them to tell what he was, no way to see the striking lack of a Suit or Rank marking.
And oh, Suits, the man screamed so wonderfully! Apocalypse's grin widened, stretching his lips back fully into what was almost a feral grin as he ground his heel on the other man's hand. If he broke a few bones - oops, oh well, no one died of a broken hand, right?
Besides, he wasn't talking. Years of time spent accompanying Mephit in the dungeons had given him quite the skillset when it came to loosening lips. The stomp to the man's hand had just been for fun. This would be for work. He summoned his weapon, holding it rather easily with one hand, and stepped forward. He had no intent to use her, no, but he'd found that people were instinctively afraid of the blade. It was fairly large, after all, and very sharp. Conway would know that. Without another word, Apocalypse reached out, claws glinting in the dim light of the room.
In this state, his hands were more than large enough to engulf a human's head completely. Then, his claws resting against warm skin, Apocalypse began to tighten his grip.
Conway screamed again when his hand hand. The sound of snapping made him shudder. Oh no. No no. This wasn't happening. He shot the woman a pleading glance as tears came to his eyes. Why was she letting him do this?
The look on her face was a smile. A horrible twisted smile.
A Queen of Hearts. Was this some sort of poetic justice? He didn't have time to think about it. His head snapped up to look at the blade that was summoned. His eyes wide with fear as he tried to back against the wall. There was no real way for him to move, chained as he was.
The man gave a pitiful whimper as the over sized hand was more than enough to cover his entire face. Then the felt... squeezing. "CONWAY! My name is CONWAY!" he screamed in a blind panic. How could he have any sort of composure at a time like this.
"Conway! Oh yes, that's an adorable name," Xiven said suddenly motion to Pale to release the man's head. "Now Conway, would you like me to properly introduce the man you tried to kill? His name is Apocalypse, and he happens to be a very precious person to me."
Conway gave a whimper of acknowledgment. He honestly just wanted to curl up in a ball.
Xiven quite happily moved over to wrap her arms around Apocalypse. "Having fun?" she whispered in his ear.
The feeling of flesh, seeming so fragile under his fingers, was almost too much. Apocalypse didn't want to stop, he wanted to squeeze until he felt something break, until the Joker was dead, but he held steady the second he felt the man work to scream out a name. He gave Xiven a glance, shrugging when she indicated he should let go, then did so. He swung Rhiannon in a slow circle, letting the counter-balance smack Conway's chest, knocking him back against the wall. Then he lifted the scythe, resting against it and eyeing Xiven.
"Adorable. That's a word for it, I suppose. Don't get any ideas for our kids from it." He remarked with a smirk and a pointed roll of his eyes. Then he focused on Conway again, letting Xiven introduce him. "Hi, Conway."
He waved at the man, moving forward as if he was about to make another move to injure him, but found arms encircling. He paused, staring at the captive with a curious expression. Then he let out his breath in a slow, happy sigh. "Mmhmm... What next, do you think?"
This was just a whole world of opportunity that he'd never imagined he'd have. Since when did Xiven let him do something like this - let alone actually encourage it? It was delightful, and the pleased flush on the man's cheeks was full proof of that.
Xiven chuckled. Like she was going to name one of her children after something like this.
As Conway hit the wall he yelped. Fuck all everything hurt. He shuddered as he could feel the pain of his collar bone returning. Shit. Why did he have to get caught? He looked through teary eyes at the couple standing in front of him.
"I'll do anything... please...." Shit. He just wanted out of this godforsaken place. But he knew they wouldn't let him go. Even if he played along... they weren't going to let him go. The slow terror was building up as he tried to pull at the chain. It only caused him to wince at the connection of the bracelet--the broken hand--the pain radiating through his entire body.
Xiven purred as she watched, she briefly buried her face into Apocalypse neck. "We should probably at least give him a little reward for giving us a good answer. Herm?"
It was sudden and violent but Conway jerked forward. "Just stop playing these Goddamn games! I know you're never going to let me go! Just kill me already!" He snarled, unable to do anything else in his defense.
"Kill you?" Xiven laughed, "Oh no. Why would we do something like that? You're going to be working for us from now on. If you could call it working really... it's more like I'm going to own your sorry ass." Apocalypse didn't need any direction as Xiven had unwrapped her arms from around him. She had already stated what he wasn't allowed to do, and he wouldn't kill the man.
The whimpering and whining was not becoming of the man, but it still sent a little shiver down Apocalypse's spine, making his pupils dilate until their slitted nature was almost entirely hidden. He shifted to move against Xiven's sudden closeness, turning his head to press his lips against her forehead in a surprisingly tender kiss. He lingered close afterwards, his eyes sliding shut. He wanted to have her - now, with this pathetic man watching - but he knew he had to wait. Right now was their chance to lay down the ground rules. "A reward, hmmm?"
He turned his attention back to Conway, his head tilted at a thoughtful angle as he rested his chin against the blunt part of Rhiannon's blade. He glanced from captive to Queen, raising an eyebrow. The Joker seemed to be quite worked up.
"I have an idea for a reward," he said in a soft voice, almost a purr. The smile that ran across his face held nothing but kindness, and he stepped forward, using the end of the weapon's pole to press Conway to the ground. Then he knelt close, pressing Conway's head against the ground with one hand and using one long claw of the other to tear down the front of the man's jacket. Slowly, he pulled the material aside, revealing the smooth, markless skin. Apocalypse almost began to shake at the sight of it. It wasn't unnatural in his mind, no - but it did remind him of what he'd once been, and that filled him with rage.
"So blank." He murmured, lightly dragging the claw across the skin. Then he turned to look at Xiven, eyes bright. "Why don't we give him what he's missing...?"
