[Closed!] Well, This is Awkward (Vyn, FP)

[Vyn]

Vesper had been sleeping very soundly in the bundle of her siblings when, to his dismay, Casanova was roused by something and began to whack her in the head. The little rat-mix wrinkled her nose, fussing loudly until she finally opened her eyes and saw Mother standing in the doorway.

Slowly her ears perked up, a curious look filling her eyes. Who was Momma talking to?


Anatolius slowly drifted closer, peering around Tavor into the room where the children lay...well, not sleeping any longer. The three had all perked up and were all turning to see what their mother had brought them. Tolius smiled softly, genuinely. How could he help himself when the trio were just so adorable?

"Heh... They're adorable..." Two mixes, from the look of it, and a rather odd mixed breed but full-region Lowlander. And... Wait, fire?! His ears instantly perked up, smile widening even further. "O! Lookit his wings!" Anatolius's own wings wavered slightly at the sight and the fire... Suits! The boy took after him! "What's their names, Tavor?" His tail was wagging a mile a minute, looking quite like Casanova in that moment.

[Kitty]

He kept his gaze on Anatolius when he approached, watching him carefully to see exactly how the canine was going to react to them. He relaxed when he saw the genuine smile, and then smiled himself when the canine seemed to have a better mood all round ... good. And, at the comment, he even laughed lightly .... of course he'd noticed ... and it was a pain to deal with.

Yeah, I assume that comes from you, yeah?

He stepped into the room and gestured for Toli to do the same ... couldn't quite see appreciate them fully if you only looked from afar after all. He spoke, pointing to each child when their name was said.

Casanova, Brokat and Vesper. I've named them all after roses ... I hope that's alright?

At the sight of another card, an awfully tall one to boot, his tail started to wag with a bit more intensity, causing his brother to move away from him as to not be assaulted by the fluffy appendage anymore. A smile rested on his muzzle as his attention fixed on the brightly colored canine, he kinda looked like him, huh?

Brokat rolled away from his smaller brother before he realized that he was isolating himself in a room with a stranger... a big, scary looking stranger. As quickly as he could he skittered over to his sister and attempted to hide behind her despite the fact that he was larger then she was. He peered around her, watching the canine with widened, olive eyes.

[Vyn]

Vesper was just as excited to see a stranger as Brokat was and, briefly, she sank back to help hide her nervous but considerably larger brother. Her nose remained wrinkled for quite some time, both from the sudden appearance of the insanely tall and colorful stranger and also because Cas was still smacking her with his tail from time to time.

He was lucky she didn't give him a proper bite for that!


Toli, meanwhile, bounced cheerfully on the balls of his heels with cheerful excitement. He was pleased to say that the sight of the fiery boy had, luckily, abolished most of his darker emotions. Cute, cheerful looking kid that most definitely looked very much like him.

"Ah yeah, definitely." He laughed a little, the sound cheerful and a bit awkward. He was still working on properly controlling that, actually... "Roses, eh? That's awesome. I like it."

Stepping past Tavor, Anatolius moved into the room and crouched down gently to see if any of the trio might finally approach him.

[Kitty]

Tavor was content to lean up against a wall and watch for now, Toli could get to know them however he wished now. His tail curled up a little and the tip twitched from time to time.

Crouching down would, definitely bring one of the three to see him. Nova most certainly wasn't shy and made it to his paws before the canine had even fully brought himself down and, on still wobbly limbs, made his way as fast as he could to this friendly looking stranger, that tail of his never ceasing it's movements.

Kat on the other hand, was fine hiding behind his sister. After a little while though, his curiosity got the better of him and he lifted his head and peered over her, little rounded rat ears perked forward with intrigue. Well... maybe the stranger was alright ... momma was there and wasn't doing anything to keep the wolf away so ... he was ok, right? He moved away from Vesper and got about halfway to Toli before he dropped himself back to the ground and placed his head between his paws again, fluffy tail wagging softly. He just couldn't bring himself all the way to the wolf ... at least now he was fully visible though ... in all his triple-breed glory.

Anatolius's tail was wagging heavily at the sight of his most friendly son, crouching down ever so slightly so that their noses touched for a moment.

"Hey Casanova, I'm your Papa." He murmured cheerfully, reaching up to scratch the boy's ears as he glanced beyond him to the two remaining children.

Kat had been approaching and, while he hadn't made it all the way over, he at least wasn't hidden anymore. Anatolius looked him over at least twice while he stroked Casanova, ascertaining that he detected all three of their breeds in the lad. Lowlander and strange-looking though he may have been, however, he was still his kid and the canine waved affectionately to the mixed lad. "Brokat..."

He paused, turning his attention to the third and final child then.

Vesper was still lurking in the corner, taking her sweet time in studying the stranger before her. Everyone else seemed to trust him through...

Oi! People!!!

Slowly though, very slowly, Vesper began to creep out from her shadowy corner. Luckily, Cas was far too preoccupied with the stranger to beat her with tail and this way she could better get a feel for he him without actually getting too close.


"And Vesper..." He beamed out happily.

[Kitty]

The autumn themed puppy blinked a few times in rapid succession when the other canine's nose touched his and then his tail picked up a faster rhythm before moved his head forward and ran his tongue over the canine's, no... his papa's muzzle. No one would lie about that right? No ... he didn't think anyone would lie to him, so he was quite happy with the thought already. His papa's fur was pretty ... and he was so tall! Maybe he'd be big like him instead of remaining the smallest of the trio .... maybe, he could hope, right?

Brokat on the other hand wasn't so sure about the announcements and he peered first at Vesper and then to Tavor for confirmation of such a thing. Tavor nodded an encouragement to the boy and he lifted himself back up onto his paws and made the rest of the walk over to the wolf, his head lowered and his tail almost tucked, but not quite. His ears were back, and he looked a little frightened, but that tail of his was wagging ever so slightly. His gait was a little funny, paws playing out to the sides just like his hind limbs .... it made his walk a little strange .... but he was making an attempt to not be a coward at least ...

Tavor couldn't help but smile at the sight, this was more like what he wanted only ... minus everything that had happened previously. He wasn't going to say anything yet, nor was he going to step in ... he was quite content to stay where he was and watch the four of them.

Anatolius couldn't resist the happy chuckle when he received that warm lick, his eyes shining. He truly wished Acheron could be here for this...but there was nothing he could do to change what had happened and, honestly, he wasn't sure if he had it in him to wish the three little ones away.

When Brokat waddled over, Toli attempted to hunker down just a little further and make himself not so intimidating. He seemed so sweetly shy... When he was close enough, Anatolius reached and and ran his fingers over the boy's head, stroking him. Deep down inside he still felt his innards jump at the sight of a Lowlander, especially such an odd one as Brokat, but nothing of displeasure showed on his face.

The canine loved people far too much to discriminate against them.

All the while he watched Vesper through the corner of his eye, or in little peeks from time to time, ascertaining that she was coming over and he would not have to eventually pull away from the two less wary children to greet her.


Vesper remained absolutely leery, not trusting the large brightly colored canine that was supposed to be her papa. Yet... She paused momentarily as Brokat finally made his way over to the stranger and...the stranger just pet him. Her nose wrinkled up again, buck-teeth bared in uncertainty...

And then she picked up her pace quite suddenly and hurried over to be with her siblings and the man who claimed to be papa. Instantly she pressed her side to Brokat's, remaining low to the ground even as Anatolius moved to stroke her ears as well.

Alright...maybe he wasn't so bad.

[Kitty]

Brokat wasn't quite sure what to think when he saw a hand reaching out toward him, he really did know this man and it was a bit... unnerving, and his tail quite moving altogether. But the touch wasn't really that badly, actually .... it was kind of pleasant. His tail came back to life, not quite as alive as his brother's but it still moved from side to side, and he gave an odd but ... happy sounding noise that had to have been avian, it certainly didn't sound canine or rodent.

Well, when the canine got even lower Nova's tail slowed to a stop for a moment, watching as the colorful wolf patted his siblings and such, boring really ... until he got an idea and that tail of his began to move again. Maybe, just maybe ..... papa would want to play? He wiggled his little body and hopped forward, a little puppy growl rumbling up from his throat as he made an attempt to nab one of the wolf's ears with his sharp little teeth ... he hadn't learned to be gentle yet either.

Anatolius smiled at the children surrounding him, stroking Vesper and Brokat for the time being. He was already certain he and Cas would be friends, the boy was positively too sweet to be the sort to dislike people, but Kat and Vesp both seemed so very shy.

He couldn't help but wonder if it had to do with their rot. Even at such a young age they must have noticed the typical animosity they received from most strangers.

It was during this momentary lapse into thought that Cas would manage to catch the canine off guard long enough to catch one long ear with those sharp little puppy teeth. He quickly yanked back from petting the two other children, yipping in surprise before swinging his tail up to playfully bat the young canine.

"Hey there, kiddo! Careful with those teeth!" He laughed happily before swinging a playful bat at him with one large paw.



Vesper twitched as the large Morganberry yipped, flinching backward warily,... only to realize that it was Cas causing the fuss. Well, that was all well and dandy. She wasn't sure how much petting she would have been able to take anyway.

So instead she moved to hide ever so slightly behind Brokat, watching the two more playful canines playing.
