Colin forced a chuckle at the joke. "Hopefully the latter, though you never know." Honestly, it was getting a bit stressful to talk to Angavar...he seemed to be very reticent, not letting Colin in on just about anything, and yet picked up on the Cardinal's emotions better than he should have. That combined with the scarf was getting to be a bit too much, but the Spade was nothing if not gracious. He nodded absently as the Hawk continued to give him short replies that said nothing and hid everything, on all subjects the same.
He really hadn't been expecting an answer on the family, when he couldn't even get Angavar to speak about his music. He forced a smile, turning back. "It is a beautiful area, and few give up their homes here willingly," Colin noted, tilting his head. For a moment, he turned to look out over the cliff again, noting with mingled relief and unease that the sky was touched with pink as the sun began to set. He watched the sunset for a few minutes, finally turning back to the Hawk, looking a bit tired.
"I have a previous engagement for dinner," Colin began, which was a funny way of saying his mom really wanted him home in time for a meal. "So I'm afraid I may have to take my leave of you." He stood up, and bowed to the other bird, folding his wings politely. "I hope that you have better luck in the future, and I hope to hear about all the concerts you're playing." A bright smile, and then a high pitched chirp.
At hearing his master call, Arpeggio broke off the game, zooming to Colin's side and hovering near his shoulder, blinking large eyes at the other two.
