Donnie always had mixed feelings about holding open court. She understood the importance of it, the ability for average people of her suit to approach and request assistance or favors, but sometimes they were just so damn stupid. It boggled her mind that they thought some of these problems were worth bringing before the Queen of their suit. Didn't it embarrass them? It would have embarrassed her. This next one looked interesting in a weird sort of way. She hadn't seen a Golfam in a long time. They weren't exactly common in this area and few came to the palace. It just wasn't the sort of place the realm gravitated towards, from what she could tell. Backwater hicks. And it was a Golfam Club, too. Male. Why the hell hadn't he gone to his own Court instead? She would still hear him, of course, but... huh. It was unusual. She would also be less willing to expend as much of her energy for someone of another suit. That was sort of why they were separated by suit in the first place. "Felaria of the Golfam and Harold of Esterberry, your Majesty," her attendant announced as they approached. The wolverine had to do a double-take when the names flip-flopped in her head. She'd have much more easily pegged the lizard as a Harold than a... Felaria? He didn't have particularly kind parents, then. She knew all about naming troubles. Donalda. Sigh. "Welcome to the Court of Spades, both of you. Please state your case."

Damn, talk about some fancy shit. Nobody back home woulda believed this place. Felaria approached the Queen's throne on all fours, hating the fact that she didn't have a biped. She had one and she loved it. She was born to it! She'd never even gotten to use her animal form. This was a real pain in the ass, and so demeaning. Fuck. Whatever. It was so much better than nobody being able to see her, she really couldn't bitch all that much. 'cept that she could, but only in her head. She wasn't ungrateful. "Thanks, Majesty, you're real kind," she said in a slow drawl, wondering how to approach the situation. Harold had suggested a few things, but she wasn't sure which one to go with. The woman looked... well, 'grand' was definitely one word. Nice baubles. Kinda tacky boots, havin' all those colors if you were just gonna get 'em covered in mud. An' if you weren't gonna get 'em covered in mud, why wear boots? In a castle? Weirdo. Still. She was the Queen of Spades and she might be able to help. "I came here about a lil' problem, Majesty, that I think maybe you kin see it in yer heart to help with. I used t'be a woman. An' a rat. An' a biped. An' a Heart. The biped I kin work on by myself jus' fine. The Heart I sorta stopped carin' about after all this time. The rat an' the woman, though, they still rankle somethin' nasty. A bad curse, y'might say, all cause I tried t'save this man's life." She gestured towards Harold. "An' I was wond'rin if y'might be able t'do anythin' t'help us. If'n y'see it within' your power an' grace t'do so."

Harold wasn't entirely sure if this was a horrible idea or a good idea. Of course the idea of going to the Queen of Hearts made him want to cry, and he highly doubted another red card would be willing to help Felaria the only option was the Queen of Clubs and the Queen of Spades. And the Queen of Clubs was a man, and he highly doubted he would understand the situation. He also wasn't particularly inclined to go back to that place. It may have been a different Queen, but he still wasn't fond of the court system. It seemed like the Queen of Spades was the only one they could go to. He choked back all his nervous twitching and waited patiently. When they were finally allowed to step forward and state their case he allowed Felaria to explain. Their story was hard to believe, but... it didn't really matter if the woman believed them or not. "Please, Your Majesty, if you could at least direct us to someone who could help it would be greatly appreciated." He said as he bowed his head. "It's my fault she's cursed and I've exhausted all of my resources trying to find a solution."

Donnie stared for a moment, pretending to look thoughtful and privately wondering what in the hell this lizard had been smoking. It was times like these where she wished she had the lie-detecting spells of a Diamond. They would be oh-so-useful in telling whether or not this was instant bullshit.
"That's a very... interesting story," she settled with, trying to figure out whether or not she should say something else instead. She decided not to. "While I personally applaud any man who would rather embrace a more feminine side of himself, going so far as to physically change his own gender, favors to accomplish this are extremely rare and difficult to produce. Even for a Spade, they wouldn't come cheap. I'm not even sure if I can make something to affect your breed. I've never tried before. Are you aware that these requests will require a great deal of my time and energy, and also a great deal of your own resources to compensate this Court?"
She was interested in trying, at the very least for the gender favor. That wasn't cheap. She'd never made one before, but she knew that she could. She would never feel morally 'okay' with using something like that on a male Yarrow, which shouldn't have existed in the first place. But a male anything else, well, that was different. Hmm. It would be extraordinarily expensive, however.

That 'interesting story' comment rankled. Yeah, Felaria bet it was real interesting when you didn't have to live it. The whole thing kind of sucked balls when you did. Interesting. Pff.
"I'm ready t'do whatever it takes, Majesty," she agreed. "I came t'you 'cause I don't see a man grantin' this request so eas'ly as somebody who can understand what a nightmare it'd be t'suddenly wake up with... well... you know." She just barely censored herself, only in respect to her current surroundings. Otherwise there would have been no reason to bother. "Anything y'ask of me, Majesty, I'll do. I jus' wanna be me again, or 's close as I kin get."
She looked over at Harold, itching to take his hand, but it was too awkward in this damned animal form. If he had some of his pretty words to add and convince the Queen, now would definitely be the time.

Of course the Queen didn't believe her. Or him technically. It took all of Harold's strength not to twitch nervously as he waited for Felaria to respond.
And for a moment his heart stopped as he thought she was going to say something perverted. The panic was clear on his face until she glossed over the statement. One thing they didn't need was the only person who could potential help them kicking them out on their asses for a comment gone wrong. Nobles were far from his favorite thing to deal with, and he didn't want to piss one off. Especially one that had killed the previous Queen with a supposed ridiculous amount of bloodshed.
"Money is nothing compared to happiness. And, Your Majesty, you seem to be the only hope Felaria seems to have. I would be more than willing to provide any money or services necessary to compensate you for your time. So if you would consider her... our request... it would be greatly appreciated, your Majesty." He glanced at Felaria, giving her a rather weak smile.
Please... let something go right.

Donnie considered the pair of them. Obviously they were a pair, however unlikely and unusual it seemed. An Esterberry human and a Golfam lizard? Or Golfam rat, if he was to be believed. She? Whatever.
A long moment passed before the Queen spoke. "I can certainly believe that waking up a different breed and gender would be an unpleasant shock." Whether she actually believed their story or not. "And if you are fully prepared to commit your resources to this goal, I will see what I can do for you. The both of you. Meet with an attendant once you leave this room and schedule an appointment. I'll do a little research and figure out what I should need to create a favor of this magnitude. Then we can see about granting your request. You are dismissed."
With that bit of formality concluded, she sat back in her seat. She hadn't realized that she'd leaned forward to begin with. Huh. This was going to be a weird one, but if a pair of Jacks came requesting the help and they could pay for it... fine. The Court could always use a bit more money in its coffers.

Bitch liked to drag out the drama, didn't she? Felaria did her best not to twitch, which wasn't so great, and stood stiffly until the woman spoke again.
So... she was going to help? She would help them turn her back into a woman, pleaseholyhellyes, and possibly back to a rat as well? That... that would be... yes. Yes, she wanted it, more than she wanted just about anything at that point. Even more than sex. Because she needed to turn back into a woman before they did that. For both their sakes.
"Majesty, you're a real classy lady. We can't thank you enough, truly. This means the world t'us." She bowed as best she could in the damn lizard body, looked up at Harold with delight in her eyes, and then turned to leave the room. She had an attendant to hunt down. Then maybe they could get something to eat. She was starving.

They could have done without the drama. Harold could feel his nails digging into his skin as he waited for the Queen to actually give them their answer.
And it was a yes. Oh thank the Suits. Felaria was going to be a little closer to herself again. The thought made Harold actually relax a bit as he bowed his head. One of the various problems in their life had been solved. One of entirely too many. There was still a long way to go before things were "fixed."
"Thank you, Your Majesty," Harold said after Felaria had finished speaking. He bowed before following the Golfram.
Hopefully things would go smoothly. If something went wrong at this point... Harold had no idea what he would do beyond have a complete and utter mental breakdown.
At least he had something to look forward to as he hurried after the lizard.
