Lenore could do nothing but wring her hands anxiously as she stood in the doorway, her best dress on, and her hair done up the best she could. It had grown a bit since last her love had been home, and now hit at her shoulder at uneven angles. It was positively ugly, but she didn't want to do anything different to herself until Wulfram came home. Suits forbid she do something and he not like it! She was frantic to say the least. It had been painfully long since last she saw her husband. He had never left her for this long. Granted he had sent her mail, but it was completely different to having his person right by her. He had left her with a trusted friend, but his company was detached. She longed to be by his side again, and had begun to despair as the months slowly rolled past. Only his words promised to come back to her, and she cling to those notes like precious gems. She had recieved a note from him a week ago, asking her to prepare for her departure. They were going to sell the house to move to the Spades Court. She was proud of her love for ranking so high there, and finding his place. She knew he was an ambitious man. However she couldn't help feeling dread as the hours went by, and he didn't show. She just wanted to be by his side again...

Moving up and moving out.
Wulfram would sell his house to his friend, allow him to upkeep it just in case he would be needing it again, but otherwise he was done. His 'date' with Mo had made it painfully obvious that just sitting around and thinking about bringing Lenore to the Courts was useless. He would never know whether or not she was ready unless he did it. If she freaked out... well, he would have to figure things out from there.
If he was going to become Queen, he'd do so with his pet at his side. It would be better than any of his alternatives, no matter how fragile he feared her psyche may be.
He arrived in Bipedal form, but shifted immediately to his human as his talons struck the stone of their walk way. He was eager to claim Lenore. What he didn't expect was to find her standing in the doorway, waiting for him. There were a dozen different things he expected to see and 'silly' was not the first word that he had expected to think upon finding her. Her hair was uneven, falling awkwardly around her shoulders, and her best dress wasn't anywhere near what Wulfram would have called 'best'.
Had he neglected his pet that much?
That would be changed.
"My love." He caught her in his arms the moment he was close enough, pulling her against him. "It hes been too long."

She didn't need to think twice. The moment she saw him she started running towards him. The white dress she had chosen billowing behind her. She fought back tears of loneliness, fearing that if she allowed her eyes to get blurry he would disappear from her sight. He cought her in his arms and she threw her own over him, layering his face with small kisses like an excited puppy happy to be in the arms of it's master. She held him tight, as if to make sure he was really there, and that he wouldn't just suddenly poof. At first...she thought the long time by herself had caused her to go mute...but soon she found words.
"I missed you....so much." was all she could manage to say. She wanted to say so much more, but she didn't want to cry. She didn't want to greet him with tears like the last time he had left her for so long. She didn't want to upset him and make him disappear for longer. She tried to contain herself a bit by holding him and just breathing, and when she had managed to calm down she looked up at him. "Would you like me to make us some tea before we leave....or....would you prefer we be on our way? I'm ready either way." she gave him a small smile.

Wulfram had forgotten how good it was to feel her.
Just to touch her and kiss her, and to know she desired nothing more than the same thing. The best pet in his world. He kissed her again and again, teasing his fingers through her growing hair. It needed to be trimmed so badly. Maybe not as short as before, but something... nicer. Something worthy of standing at his side in the Courts.
"You are such e good girl." He praised, kissing her nose as his fingers wound their way around her nose-ring's chain. The chains that bound her to him. He teased it lightly, but applied no force. "No tea. I sink ve should run some errands... Your hair needs trimmink und something to vear zat ist more suitink of our destination." His hands slid away from the chain, moving instead to run through her uneven raven locks.
He'd missed her presence.

Lenore closed her eyes softly, drinking in his praise as if it was a drug. He was happy to see her. He was pleased with her. After all this time he still wanted to be with her. She had begun to think she might have done something wrong, and that had been part of the reason why he hadn't returned for so long. But no...she was sure...it was only his duties that kept him from her. At least, this was what she was going to tell herself. She could feel his pearl white fingers running through her ebony hair. Feel his kisses upon her depraved skin. She kissed him softly back, once again, unable to keep herself from him.
She nodded a bit when he refused the tea. She looked back at the house a little. It was strange to think she would no longer see it, would no longer live there. Wulfram and she had called it home for so long...since they had gotten married...but she supposed...they would build a new life together in an even more extravegant place. Still...it was a strange feeling. She turned back to him. "I would have trimmed it...but...I didn't want to do anything to it until you came home..." she said softly, as if an excuse for her poor care of hair length. It was clean and shiny to be sure, but the length and cut...well...it was....ugly.
She looked down at the dress she was wearing. She had thought it was rather nice...but she supposed it wasn't good enough for the court. She had gotten it years ago...a gift from Wulfram...but she supposed the style was a bit backdated. Oh well. She would do anything to keep Wulfram happy with her as he was now...
"Where should we go to run our errands?" she asked, ready to get on the move...and away from the house before she started feeling homesick before she was even gone.

Wulfram smiled.
It was odd how that was such an easy expression around her when he usually spent so much time holding his usual 'airs'. The Court had changed him, undeniably, but not in any way that Wulfram truly disliked. He'd gotten better at wearing those formal masks required of him, and he'd gotten stronger.
Before long he'd be taking his step to King.
Now, however, was time to focus on Lenore.
"Zat ist good." He chuckled deeply, playing with her hair a bit more. There were places in the City that he could take her to get her hair trimmed and all that, but that could wait. He wanted to get her a bit of a touch up and the like while they were nearby. "I should not heff let it get like zis." He kissed her lightly before pulling away and cupping an arm around her waist.
"I heff not been home in e vhile, zhe shoppes here vill be suitink." As he spoke Wulfram escorted Lenore away from home. The nearest Village to them wasn't all that far and already knew the crow well enough to keep from even thinking of saying an ill word again his Lenore. She was his pet and everyone knew it already.

Wulfram's lips pulled his cheeks upward into a smile, and without realizing it, Lenore's own lips emulated his pearl white ones. She blushed slightly, looking away from him for a moment to regain herself. It was hard looking at him and not wanting to maul him where he stood...as was customary for them when he had been away for so long. It wasn't the time for that...such thoughts were in appropriate.
Instead she sated herself by holding him, and letting him play with her...horribly trimmed hair...like a doll who a child had taken scissors to. "You weren't around...don't feel guilty." she said softly...knowing he most likely didn't feel guilty...nothing really mattered now...since they were going to go spiffy her up from the sounds of it all, but still...it was Lenore's way to relieve him of all guilt where she could. She sighed has he cupped her to him, happily leaning into his arm and touch.
She simply nodded a bit, wondering which shop they would try first...there were so many nice ones in the nearby town. She tried not to think about it to much...or ask which place Wulfram had in mind. Lenore slowly began to realize that homesickness was unavoidible...and so many of the shop keeps had been so kind to her in the past...maybe because of Wulfram...maybe not...but still...there was a lot of sentimental value that was being lost with the move. She only hoped her new home would feel as...well....like home.

Wulfram did not feel guilty.
Well, not in the way most would have. He felt guilt for not tending to his pet better, for not returning to keep her groomed and happy and content. What he did not feel guilt for, however, was that she had kept herself the way he had last left her. That was the way she was supposed to be, exactly as he'd left her.
So he would dote on her now, to show her how good she had been. How proud he was of her and, while he could not admit it out loud, how happy he was that she was still her with him.
Over the course of the afternoon, Wulfram took her to get her hair trimmed properly and her clothes tailored to a better fit. Nothing extreme, but enough to make her look as if he hadn't been neglecting her. He wouldn't allow for that when they arrived at the Courts.
Their 'errands' would finally end them in the Capital City for Lenore's first time. Wulfram kept her close as they walked, weaving her through the streets with small explanations of where things where and why, until they reached one of Wulfram's preferred Cafe's in the City.
"Let's stop for dinner before ve continue to ze Courts. Get anythink you volde like, mine luffe."
(Hope you don't mind the bit of a skip ahead. [fluff])
