Believe it or not, Isolde hadn't met all of her family yet. They had a tendency to not associate with each other especially with Cecilia being the whorish one but when she heard her Aunt Helen was in town, she couldn't help herself. Now, she heard she was a little.... odd but she was okay with that. At least she didn't have the reputation of being rude and full of herself like her Uncle Severus did. Bah. She was excited though because lately she felt isolated and almost like she had no idea who she was. It was nice to talk with family and get that feeling back. It was also good to throw a little bit of crazy in there too. She walked up to the place where Helen was supposed to be staying and knocked on the door. God, I hope she likes me...

All of the people in the extended family - be they full-siblings or half-siblings - tended to wander. In fact, it seemed to be the rare child of Ophelia's (with either Maxwell or Silvanus) that stayed anywhere near home, at least for long. Visits were occasional, but really, only occasional, and Maxwell did his best to stay in touch with each of his children, but it was still difficult. That meant that Helen wasn't actually staying in a house or anything - and had, for whatever reason, declined the invitation to stay at home with her parents - and had instead settled herself into a traveler's hostel for whatever people came to Corvistowne looking for something from the residents. It was in one of the better parts of the ramshackle town, for guests who didn't mind their business being found out, though she'd been given a few odd looks. She herself certainly looked like a Corvistowneian, even with the purple markings along with the green. Usually it was just assumed that one of her parents had purple marks, though whatever pure Corvistowneain that bore such colors probably had problems with being mistaken as a Torquehelm a time or two. When Isolde knocked on the door of the room Helen had claimed for herself, there was a long silence, before the door creeked open and a pair of distant purple eyes looked out - not at Isolde, but over her head, as if searching for something else.

She wondered what kind of a place her aunt had found as she gave it the look over and why she didn't want to stay with her and her grandparents. She figured it was something regarding the relationship between the three. She always found it odd that none of the family really talked to each other but then again, her family really was kind of odd to begin with.
Isolde didn't know what to expect as the door opened- in an eery way even. The card before her was definitely a Corvie but she had the oddest gold coloring on her too, she wondered what that was about. Err- was she staring through me? Isolde wondered. It almost seemed like though that her aunt was staring over her head but the idea creeped out Isolde just a bit too much. Not comfortable with silence she felt she should speak.
"Aunt Helen? It's Isolde, Cecilia's daughter" she said cheerfully. "I wondered if we might visit for awhile?"

"Hush," she said absently, still peering over Isolde's head. Slowly her gaze swept from one side of the street to the other, eyes focusing on something that wasn't there, before watching the whatever-it-was move out of sight once more. Finally she looked down to meet the Selkie mix's eyes, blinking a few times before nodding once.
"Travelers returning from sea often forget that they are not still part of the tide's call," she explained, though what it was supposed to explain wasn't exactly obvious. "I suppose a large enough lake could be considered much like a sea, but for the lack of tears in the water."[/b] With that, she stepped away from the door, allowing it to open behind her as she headed back into the little living-area. Before she'd moved in it had probably been a sparse, simple apartment, with a bed, a desk suited for a Card of any form, a number of shelves, and a closet with a dresser in the bottom half. To the side a door led to the water closet, with another door leading somewhere else. It was hard to see too much of that sparseness anymore, considering the number of nick-nacks (useful or not) that littered every available surface.
Of course, another thing to note about the room (or rather, its occupant), was that the deer was rather heavily pregnant.

((sorry it took so long))
Um... well ok.. she thought as her aunt shushed her. She wasn't sure what Aunt Helen was looking at but it kind of freaked her out. She turned slowly to look in the direction and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that nothing was there. As she turned around, she met her aunt's gaze and it made her jump a little. Maybe there was a reason no one really talked about her... she was kind of creepy.
As her aunt spoke, she just sat there with confusion painting her face... err... what? Tide's call? What was all of this supposed to mean and what did the sea have to do with her? I mean, she was partly from Selkie Lakes so she supposed so she saw the connection bu- argh, all this thinking was giving her a headache.
Luckily the confusion was over for now and Helen had stepped aside to let her in. Isolde slowly walked in and looked around. It wasn't a magnificent place but she supposed it fit her aunt's needs well enough. She did find it strange that in all the simplicity, there were an awful lot of knick knacks... odd. She took the moment to take her aunt in and she saw that Aunt Helen was very much pregnant... or she thought she was pregnant anyway. Isolde didn't want to bring it up though unless Aunt Helen did because she made me a most unfortunate mistake once of asking someone if they were and it just turned out they were fat... yikes was that a stupid mistake.

Helen hummed absently to herself as she puttered about, moving a few things here and there and adjusting the position of one little statue no less than five times before she seemed to deem herself satisfied with it. Nodding firmly to herself, she turned around and drew up to an abrupt halt at seeing Isolde again, confusion rather vivid in her gaze. After a second of staring at the mix with wide, spooked eyes, she blinked hard and then shook her head, ears flapping, before settling back into her usual expression of calm.
"What dreams have you dreamt lately, little niece? Of shoes, and ships, and ceiling wax? Of cabbages and kings? Or why the sea is boiling hot, and whether pigs have wings?" Her voice turned sing-song on the rhymes, pale eyes oddly focused on Isolde, as if her answer was a matter of utmost importance. Occasionally it would wander away to something nearby, as if distracted, but she would pull herself back to attention with an almost tangible jerk.

What now? Well, Isolde had no idea what any of that was supposed to mean... from what Grandma said, it probably didn't mean anything at all but she nodded politely at least and decided to continue on with her intention.
"Well Aunt last night I dreamt of a giant horse made of beef jerky but that's neither here nor there, I came by today because I wanted to know a little more about my family. I don't see 'Cilia much and Grandpa's always too busy to chat so I thought I might gain some information from you. If you wouldn't mind, would you please tell me of when you were younger?"
She suddenly felt silly for coming here, but she WAS here so she wouldn't back out now. The woman was just her aunt, it's not like she would bite her or anything. She was just a little....eccentric.
