Given the options of getting chores done or wallowing in her own misery, Alicia opted for chores. Thus, she was partway through her first load of laundry by the time her adversary reappeared. Zuli's rather unpleasant smile did nothing for the young Highlander's mood. She maintained a pleasant expression, although now it was not so much an attempt to curry favor with Zulimar as a refusal to stoop to her level. "Things are doing just fine." She stated, a little too formally, "I think I have it all under control here, so you needn't bother.... helping."
By this point, Alicia had no illusions that the other leveret had any intentions of helping, or doing any work whatsoever. She probably wasn't even going go away and let Alica iron pillowcases in peace. Hopefully she would get bored soon and wander away to annoy someone with less to do!
It appeared that Zuli's primary function in the warren was to prevent others from getting on with the chores and to be a general irritation. Either she exceptionally good at looking busy, or the does around here ran a very loose ship. If she was my Leveret, Alicia thought, I'd see to it that she was traded off right quick. She rather doubted that the Jack kept her around for her looks alone... she simply wasn't pretty enough to make up for her bad attitude and obvious lack of work ethic.
This deplorable behavior must stem from a serious lack of involvement on the part of this warren's (probably inferior) does. I could do better, she thought, carefully running a hot iron over clean white sheets. There seems to be no discipline at all in this place.
