Fetu found herself holding her breath in silent anticipation as the woman examined their badges. When she realized that she of course let it out, slowly, and mentally berated herself for the anxious nerves. The more unsettled she let herself become, the less likely they would solve this case in a timely manner. And before anyone else. It was a station-wide alert, after all, and other junior coppers were probably all looking to put a feather in their cap by solving the problem first.
She replaced her badge in the pocket of her jacket and sat uneasily, turning over the woman's words in her mind. Did that help them? Not very much... but she scribbled down the doctor's exact phrasing to give to her superiors later. It wasn't much, but the word of a medical professional on something like this had to be worth... well, something. At the recommendation, she simply nodded.
"Did anyone else at your clinic seem more familiar with these men? Did you notice or overhear anything at all that might hint at the men's whereabouts? Hangouts? Stomping grounds? Anything of that nature?"

It was almost nerve racking to watch someone inspect something so closely. But from the way she was looking at things, it was an honest attempt to see authenticity. They should have managed to snag a warrant for the records before hand. Next time she would make sure to cover all grounds beforehand.
When the doctor focused all of her attention on her, Petunia's ears perked upwards. A badly twisted ankle and a scrape? Well that made sense. And maybe they could get a bit more information from that. Penny's eyes remained locked on the doctor as she listened to Fetu's questions.
That was a different route to take, she supposed. But would the Doctor had bothered to take notice to associates the men had? It wasn't like it was her business. And she saw plenty of people every day in and out of her clinic. "Was there any debris in his wound, such as rust? Or were there any other distinct signs to indicate that he had caused unnecessary trauma to the twisted ankle?" She asked a few moments after Fetu had finished.

It seemed as if for now, her companions largely had the situation under control, and once more, Sorcha felt somewhat useless. She chewed her inner lip as she watched Fetu speak, then turned to Petunia when she added to their questioning. It was frustrating, knowing that even though she was aiding the pair on their investigation, she wouldn't be joining in with the arrest of the two men.
For now, all she could do was prove herself as best she could and keep the things that she learned close to heart to make her an even more successful officer once she was permitted to get more involved in things. She would ask any questions required of the doctor as they came up.
For Zenon's part, she was well aware that she was likely just being fickle now, but she didn't get many opportunities to entertain herself like this. She blinked slowly as Fetu asked her question, lightly running a talon across the underside of her beak. "No, no one in my clinic seemed to recognize them... And other than some slight dirt in the wound itself, there was nothing outstanding about it. Just a clumsy mistake.[/b]" Her eyes lit up slightly. "However...[/b]"
She leaned back in her seat, her feathers fluffing out comfortably once more. "I did listen in on them while they were waiting for treatment. The skinny one - the mustelid - was none too pleased that his friend had been injured. It sounded as if they had been sitting in on a building that had been fenced-off, likely for demolition. My guess is that he was injured while either entering or leaving that area.[/b]"

And that was an extremely useful tip. There were abandoned or boarded-off buildings throghout the city, but not so many that they couldn't be searched. The only problem with searching abandoned, condemned, or otherwise "uninhabited" buildings was that you were likely to turn up all sorts of trouble you didn't want. Fetu had learned that lesson very well throughout her nomadic years.
Scribble scribble scribble.
Thank the Suits this doctor was being cooperative, despite their distinct lack of a warrant. This was only an investigation and she would have been well within her rights to refuse without more formal evidence of wrongdoing or official permission. Hopefully this didn't get out. The other police would probably snicker at the rookies who had no clue what they were doing. Sigh.
"Very interesting observation, doctor. Thank you," she replied quietly, still looking down as she wrote. It was all the thanks the woman would likely get from her. If the others wanted to add anything, that was entirely their choice. She wasn't especially socially adept. "That may be useful."
And had they concluded their business with the Corvie mix? Could they leave after the unfortunately necessary pleasantries of tea and idle conversation? She looked at the other two.

That was lovely. The doctor was kind enough to share information with them that they hadn't even asked about. Condemned buildings. Maybe they should search ones around the area where the spade woman had been mugged. There was one that she knew of... of course they could cover a greater area than that, but this would be a better start.
One of Petuina's ears twitched at the chipmunks comment. She was about as sociable as a brick, wasn't she? Maybe they should have a little session where manners were explained, or at least some sort of charm class? But she was a Jack of Spades, she supposed being high ranked was a good excuse to lack any sort of real class when speaking.
She didn't like being pleasant half the time, but she did it anyway. That way no one would smack her with a baseball bat when she wasn't looking.
"Actually that's extremely helpful," she said with a bright smile. She glanced over to the young bat mix, making a general motion for her to speak if she had anything to add. If they were finished she would add that the Doctor could contact them any time if she could think of any more information to share. They should probably get going. There was never any time to waste.

Ahh, from the way their faces lit up, it was as if Zenon had just informed them that Santa was still alive and that Christmas was still going to be happening this year. There was a variation in their excitement, of course. The Hisstor - quiet little thing, rather strange eyes on top of everything else - seemed the most subdued, but Zenon could see the slight perk in her expression. The strange hybrid seemed to be just as enthusiastic as ever, though that probably had something to do with her being a damn bloody Esterberry ass-kisser. No, Zenon wasn't bitter towards her realm, not at all. One of the three lit up literally as well as figuratively - wasn't that a strange thing? Hmm. Must have been somehow linked to emotions, then... The woman felt the briefest pang of sadness at the realization that she wouldn't be able to do any further experiments in regards to that one and her glowsticks.
Sorcha's head bobbed enthusiastically in response to the comments of her companions, unsure of anything she should add. None of them were all too experienced in these matters, and so it was just an instance when she should do what felt 'right'.
Whatever that meant.
Before she could speak, however, the Corvid-hybrid cleared her throat with a subtle "caw". "One more thing, if I could speculate a bit...[/b]" she began, glancing at the officers. She could tell they were overly eager to get back on the road, to return to the capital to begin their searching anew. "The wound was not as new as it would have been had it happened near my clinic. I believe this means that he either waited a while before seeking medical aid - which wouldn't seem entirely likely, judging from his discomfort - or they had to walk a way to reach the clinic.[/b]"
The coyote-hybrid blinked bright green eyes as she took the words in, then nodded again. "Thank you, doctor, I think that will help us quite a bit." She gave the woman a bright smile, her orbs lighting up as well.

More writing, and then Fetu looked back up. "And thank you again." That could eliminate one area within the city, or at least allow them to search it last. Providing that the woman wasn't secretly helping them for some reason and just telling the fuzz that to throw them off the trail. But these two really were small-time, and this was a reputable doctor. She doubted that the Corvie wanted to get into a mess with the Capital police when she worked in a clinic there and hopefully wished to continue that operation.
...every time Sorcha started glowing, she wanted to throw a bag over the girl's head and tell her to calm down. That was going to be very distracting on the job. Good thing she was still too young for Corporal Rodney to let her out on the actual hunt for these two.
Unless this woman had something more to say... the chipmunk was very done here. But she knew better than to abruptly disentangle them. She sipped at her drink and looked at Penny, hoping that the Diamond would take the hint. Prod for more information or get them out of there. They had things to do in the Capital.

More useful information without even prompting. That was fantastic. The Esterberry took a small sip of the tea, setting the cup back down. She caught the more than obvious hint from the Hisstor that she was supposed to finish up here.
They had information to work with. Good information. "Thank you, Doctor. If there's any other information that you possibly need, please don't hesitate to contact us." The canine mix pulled a small card out of one of her pockets and offered it to the Corvie mix. If she took it or not it was up to her, but it had contact information on it "just in case."
She still had a feeling that the Corvie wanted to punch her in the face. That was probably just her own paranoia speaking, but she wanted to leave. There was no point in stepping on someone's toes when the investigation seemed to be done.
