Aberforth listened very carefully to whatever the little 'girl' would tell him, odd hooves echoing as they walked. He noted all the details in the back of his mind, though he knew that he'd need to look up most of the places, as...before joining the Police he'd never set so much as one hoof in the Capital before. He let the girl eat whatever she pleased, and he didn't bat an eye at how much. After all, if he had been starving on the street, then he'd probably eat like a ravenous shark at the first hint of a good meal, too. Besides, he had plenty of money. He was frugal and only ever spent on necessities and materials in his 'past life' as a moderately successful blacksmith.
He himself ordered only a strong herbal tea, something he drank often to help him stay focused. He was stonily silent through much of the meal, sitting rigidly and giving off a distant, though not openly hostile, vibe. Honestly, this was his normal way of interacting with people. What Jak had seen in the alley was a rare case of having more of a reason to socialize.
When she'd finished eating, Aberforth paid and then looked expectantly at the 'girl' to see if there was any other information she had before he went on his way. Either way, he would politely thank her for her help, though he wouldn't offer anything he couldn't give, like hopes to see her again or to help her find a better home. She seemed smart enough to find these things on her own.

((Yuss, that's just perfect. Sorry for not hopping on this sooner. <3))
Jak was fine with distant. His brother was distant a lot when he thought, even though he was such an awesome snuggle-bomb for the rest of the time. This guy probably had somebody in his life he snuggled with when he wasn't being all stoic and stern and... uh... distant. Heh. Whatever, he wasn't family so he didn't need any of Jak's affection, just his help. But had his help actually helped?
'She' swallowed the last of the meal and looked at the goat curiously. "Did I help, Mister? And... please don't be too mean to the weasel if you catch them. He's nice. He's just kind of dumb." With that, she gave him a little smile and scurried out of the diner, aiming to disappear as quickly as she could.
It never did well to linger if there were cops sniffing around. Especially considering the fact that he'd been a sneak-thief for more than a few years to pay for food for him and his brother, he just couldn't help but feel antsy if he didn't change forms quickly after dealing with one.
