Anya was utterly pleased with the progression of this afternoon. She'd had a good deal of wonderful encounters while out in the City, away from her father's protective gaze, but this one was turning out more than just fun. Zane was terribly charming and he made her smile in a way that wasn't so... subtly greedy.
Anya always had been a bit selfish.
As it was she gently stretched out her wings, using one to edge Zane just a bit closer to her so that she could feel the occasional brush of his side or his arm as she walked... Much better. Hopefully she wasn't coming on too heavily, it'd be a pity to chase this wonderful catch away.
"I'll have to thank your brother, he's got a good taste in pet-banders..." Another little scratch for the gurgling, tail-wagging bander in Zane's arms. "She suits you so well, and... I'm really quite pleased for having met you both this afternoon." What a wonderful, handsome man.
What was the likelihood that he had a terrifyingly possessive woman? ...Anya absently glanced around. "So, I can't help but wonder... such a handsome, charming man can't be single?" It was worth a shot. Lunch and, perhaps, a bit of extended company...

He enjoyed the game they were playing, especially when she slightly drew closer. It made things just a tiny bit more exciting. And maybe he would get lucky tonight.
And with that forward question it seemed more likely than ever. He mentally gave himself a victor cheer as he outwardly chuckled. "Would you believe that I have awful luck in love. Women have the tendency to pass me up. Something about being too nice of a guy." He scratched Nila under her chin lightly. The bander wiggled a bit happily under all of the attention.
He gave Anya a serious look. He could assume nothing. After all she was a pretty Highlander who clearly knew where she stood. "Of course, I can't imagine you're single even if you asked the question. You're far to pretty not to be snatched up by someone. It's very cruel of you to get my hopes up."

"Too nice?" Anya was genuinely surprised by this, usually women wanted a kind caring man.. But perhaps Zane had managed to miss all of those sorts of women? Well, that was all the better for her! "I, personally, find that that nice gentlemen such as yourself are far too rare..."
And then she found herself staring in to an all too serious expression. The Highlander fluffed up her feathers and fixed him with a sweetly pleased expression as she listened to his question. Ohh, so he was equally interested! That made Anya even more giddy than simply knowing he was single.
"I wouldn't tease you like that," Anya reassured as she allowed her hand to drift from Nila's chin to Zane's, ever careful of her nails. "In all honesty, I'm a little bit of a daddy's girl... and there aren't many men that I can get daddy to approve of long enough to keep." Anya sighed for a moment, her hand dropping at last to smooth her coat. "Then again, I've never met a charming avian quite like yourself."

He gave her a rather sweet smile. "It's good to know, at the very least that you're not taken. Though I do hope that I would be a good enough man for your father, I shouldn't think I'd be meeting him anytime soon. After all, I'm sure he wants to protect his beautiful daughter enough that no one would be acceptable."
He gave her a wink as she drew closer. Those nails were quite interesting. He had to wonder how she worked with them at all. The thought also crossed his mind how she could used them in bed.
On step ahead of himself there.
If only he didn't have Nila in his arms....
"It looks like we've arrived. This seems like to proper place, unless you have any objections. We could always go some place more secluded... but this place does have a lovely view of the people hurrying by if we sit by the fountain."

Anya was so very pleased with her find this afternoon. Zane was charming and intelligent and flirtatious, all of which were good for keeping Anya's attention. "Well, all things considered, if I approve enough... Father won't have to." The quetzal tossed a wink back to the sparrow.
When they arrived, Anya reluctantly stepped away from Zane and smiled fetchingly.
Oo, now that was an option... Lunch by the fountain or secluded time with Zane? As much was she would enjoy alone time, there was a certain pleasure in waiting for things you enjoyed... if only just for a little while. "This place looks lovely," Anya leaned lightly toward Zane and smiled playfully. "How about we enjoy some lunch by the fountain and then we can go find somewhere more secluded to... better get to know each other?" There was no sense playing hard to get when she'd already found herself to enjoy Zane's company quite a bit.
He could wine and dine her and then, Anya hoped, they could enjoy some one on one entertainment.

"I think that sounds like the perfect plan," He couldn't help but smile. Hopefully it wasn't too obvious that he was willing to hop in bed with her on a moments notice. Clearly they were playing the same game. Unless she was leading him on. Which was possible. He did tend to go for girls that enjoyed stringing him along.
He let Nila hop down from his arms. The little bander happily ran around both of their legs before getting her act together and straightening up when the sparrow tugged on her leash.
There was a good spot near the fountain as he predicted. It was perfect for watching people pass by, and possibly catching a few interesting sights. He offered her a seat first, like any gentlemen would. He might as well try to sweep her off her feet. That way he might actually... have more than just a fling. The thought was brief, however. He was more focused on the Highlander.

Anya cooed a little as Nila scampered around their legs, joyfully attempting to tangle them in the leash.
How could she not help but love the little monster?
As Zane found a spot for them Anya smiled delicately and took the suggested seat. "Why thank you," Anya replied as she slid into the seat. ...What a charmer, Anya still had to wonder at his availability. Too nice? Girls just didn't know what they wanted. Good thing Anya was here to catch their mistake and cash in on it. The Highlander leaned onto the table, propping her arms onto the table and placing her head on top of her folded hands. Her feathers fluffed fetchingly as she tucked her wings against her, smiling up at Zane. "So, handsome, what would you suggest we get? I don't eat in the Capital much." Especially not by herself, but he didn't need to know that.

"Well, Beautiful, this lovely establishment has a fantastic selection of soup. If you're not in the mood for that though they have a rather interesting selection of sandwiches and larger meals. If you like any sort of chicken they make rather interesting dishes." He shrugged. "I used to come here for lunch every other week when I had an internship at my Dad's shipping firm. I think I've had just about every dish they serve here."
The little monster, meanwhile, was slowly making her way towards sitting on Anya's feet. She seemed to have taken a liking to the woman, and wanted to make her "comfortable." Zane tugged lightly on the bander's leash, pulling her back a bit before she could make her move. Nila snorted in slight protest before settling on staring at the Highlander's toes.
The waiter came, dipping gracefully and handing them the menus. He hurried off to take care of another set of customers.

Anya smiled at the use of the pet name. It was nice to see that he wasted as little time moving forward as she did. She slowly moved to run her long nails through her crest once more, toying with some of the longer feathers absently.
"Soup sounds wonderful." Briefly Anya glanced down, watching Nila shifting under the table. While she didn't really care if she was piled under banders or not, she was pleased to see Zane taking proper control over his little beast. He could probably show a good deal of talent with training... But now wasn't the time to think about work. Anya would take a couple minutes to decide on a soup and beverage before setting the menu aside and focusing on Zane again.
"So, a shipping firm, hm? What do you do now?" Zane, in Anya's opinion, had an ambitious look about him. Hopefully he'd be handsome and well off, that would be a lovely bonus.

He set the menu down, deciding on what he wanted long before he actually arrived. It was put aside, and ignored for the wonderful woman in front of him. She was much more interesting than food after all.
"Ahha, well..." He blushed slightly. His new job was one he didn't want to tell the world about quite yet. Hell, he had only just told his family about it. Then again, it was difficult for them not to hear about it. "I happen to still work at the firm part time, and I also happen to have a job at the Court of Spades as a King."
He shrugged lightly, giving her a rather goofy smile. Of course, he hadn't been a King for long, so he never had bragging rights before this. Clearly this could be used to his advantage to get a woman in bed... and hopefully this was the case here.
