At the moment, Zeki quite cheerfully could have slept upon a giant angry porcupine dripping with the most fetid and gooey of sewer slime...inside a volcano or something. A small attic, by comparison, may as well have been a first-class hotel. It would do nicely. Zeki wasn't claustrophobic, for the most part. Small spaces could actually be very comforting. Like the cockpit of a plane...

He climbed up and pretty much fell into bed. Not nearly as big and soft and warm as the one back at Court, but he really didn't care. It was good to have his own room.

"Hmm, it's perfect," he mumbled, and crawled under the covers, making himself a coccoon. This was an excellent way to fall asleep. He hugged the pillow and bid his father-clone the best of dreams. "Write Mama and tell her I said goodnight."

Rocky had quickly shifted to his animal form so he could at least see if Zeki liked the bedroom. It was a bit of a struggled but he had managed to master the stairs. Peering over the top one he watched as the boy crawled into the bed.

He looked comfortable. The raccoon breathed a sigh of relief. It really wasn't much, but apparently it was enough to make him happy.

He was a little startled when the boy said what he did. He gave a smile anyway. "I will," he said cheerfully. It wasn't as cheerful as it could have been, but it was enough. "Sleep well, Zeki."

It was a struggle to get down the stairs without falling flat on his face. Somehow he managed and switched back to his bipedal form. Now it was time to work on a few experiments so he wouldn't get too far behind.

But he couldn't help but wonder if things were going to turn out all right....
