He didn't think his 'company' would give him his real name, then again .... well, he'd heard of people doing rather dumb things. But he wouldn't know for sure ... and that bothered him a little bit. Being lied to bothered him to a very high degree, but he'd believe him unless he was given a reason not to, lip reading would help .... somewhat.
For now, Conway, I don't.
He said the boys name a bit louder then the rest of the sentence, hinting to him that he would have no problem announcing it to whomever was listening if he needed to. That was always one way to shift blame for something .... and then the sound of his bracelet caused his ears to twitch ever so slightly. He'd ask about it later.
I know another .... and a Heart as well.
Black suits were indeed the most common in the Lowlands, his own mother had been a Spade... but he wouldn't mention that. Nor would he mention that the Heart was a pet of sorts and the other diamond was his son. There were things strangers just ... didn't need to know.
Now ... I can't just let you walk away you know .... but I do have an offer for you.
He drew in a bit closer to the human, his grin intensifying a bit as well. Oh, he did so hope that the boy would be interested.

Conway twitched at the use of his name. Honestly if someone came by he would just slink of silently and be done with it. There were plenty of other people out there who could have been named Conway. He twirled his bracelet a bit more.
"A Heart....? Huh." Conway said as he suppressed a shudder. High ranking hearts just made him uncomfortable. There was that whole incident with the Queen that still haunted him. He had killed someone with a family.... because his own father wanted him dead.
"An.... offer?" Conway said with a sinister tone in his voice. He was being given an offer when this rat had no knowledge of what he was capable of? The wolf couldn't help but smirk, "If it's something fun than I'd be happy to accept it. If not.... well we can see what will happen. Maybe it's my night to die."

The movement he was making with his bracelet caught his attention and his ears shifted forward .... well, from what he saw that certainly looked like bone .... but he wouldn't let his gaze linger for too long. He really had no idea who this Conway person was and he wouldn't let him have the upper hand just because he was distracted by some silly little bracelet, thus his gaze returned to the wolf's face. Damn most cards and the height they had on him .... even in human form Conway was likely to be the taller of the two.
The sinister note to the other man's voice caused oozing, golden eyes to narrow ever so slightly and that bony tail of his to shift a bit as well. He didn't read it as much of a threat, but more like a bit of hidden cockiness .... and he didn't like that.
Oh but it is fun. The stupid cat that sent me after this one has a bit of a ..... final debt to pay and it's been awhile since I've been able to watch.
He was well aware of the fact that that statement could be taken more then one way, but really ..... the feline would be paying whether Conway helped or not. It would just be far better of a night to be able to not only see someone die at his own hands .... but someone else's as well. The thought caused his wiry fur to bristle ever so slightly.

"Oh, so I get to kill someone?" Conway said with a cheerful grin. Honestly he just killed people for money.... because that was what he did in a pinch. Getting that money for his sister was a prime example. So killing for the sake of killing was a little odd. Of course he could use the logic that he was doing it out of fear of getting mutilated by the rat.
He wasn't particularly afraid. Getting the crap beat out him was a normal occurrence, and he had walked away alive. He really did want to get in a good fight again sometime....
But June... he had to think of his sister. Damnit. He needed to be more careful! Why had he managed to get himself into trouble all the time! The boy growled a bit out of annoyance.
"Fucking hell. Fine. Just lead the way Mr. Diamond." Conway muttered as he kept his dark eyes on the rat. If anything went wrong he would just transform into something and bolt.

His nose twitched before the corners of his mouth twisted up in a grin that revealed his yellowed teeth. It appeared that the evening was going to progress in a manner he hadn't expected and it pleased him to some extent while infuriating the more ... cautious side of his brain. However, the lighter side of his thoughts took control of the situation and his tail curled up into a pleasant little loop behind him. At the man's comment he chuckled lightly... lead the way? Fuck that game.
I'm afraid I won't be leading, can't trust a stranger so willing to kill another have any ... opportunities, yeah? I'm afraid you'll have to walk beside me.
He lifted a hand and made a gesture for the other man to start walking and when he did the rat would as well. He was eager to finish up and return home well, not right away ... he'd need to clean up before he made it all the way back but ... he didn't want to linger in the city for too long. It was nice to get out every now and again but ... he wanted to go back and wait for a ... friend.
Soooooo .... Conway ... do you prefer to take a life with your hands or are weapons your style?
He arched a brow, peering at him with those constantly oozing, golden eyes, curiosity resting in them while his expression remained as a simple smirk. They had a bit of a walk and ... silence was just so very ... dull.

Conway rolled his eyes at technicalities in speech. That was why he kept his mouth shut half the time. Dead silence was a better friend than hearing someone's voice. Of course, there were few exceptions to the rule. A dirty Lowland rat wasn't one of them. A Diamond no less.
Silence filled their walk--with the exception of his bracelet clicking as he walked. He raised an eyebrow at the comment the rat made. He broke the silence for that? Was he honestly that bored? People couldn't appreciate silence as much as he did apparently.
"I pick what fits the situation best. Pocket knife. Wire for strangling. Hands. It doesn't matter. What gets the job done gets the job done. I kill for the money." He shrugged. "Do you honestly prefer stabbing your victim with a blunt knife?"
It was more of a rhetorical question because Conway could careless what the rat enjoyed. And why did he have to use his name like that? "Are you fond of my name or something?" he added while looking the rat up and down.

He'd had enough silence as of late and, well ... he felt like being social and Conway was the only other soul around. Besides, there weren't to many people he could have a conversation like this with ... and he was curious. His ears flipped themselves forward as he listened and, well a part of him was disappointed in the boy's answer. A response like that made him believe the other man didn't.... enjoy his work.
Do you not get any enjoyment out of your work? And no, really don't. Best thing ever is to use your hands ... the look in a person's eyes right before you choke the life out of them? Nothing better then that well ... almost nothing.
He twitched his tail, resisting the urge to laugh at the myriad of perverse thoughts that had just seeped into his mind. There were things better then that but ... he was quite certain the by wouldn't want to hear about those types of things. But that next question, well .. .he couldn't help but laugh at that.
Mmm... well, it's nice ... gets me kinda hot actually.
And he tried very hard not to laugh again but he couldn't help but snicker, he was in ... quite a good mood if he was cracking stupid jokes like that.
Nah ... I just like addressing people by their names ... title's are overrated.

Conway stared blankly for a moment at the rat. "I didn't say I don't enjoy my job. Getting to kill is fun, I just do it as fast as I can so I'm not caught." His biggest hit had been a near hit and miss. If he hadn't flown out of their in time then who knew what would have happened at the Heart's court.
He enjoyed having his neck in tact.
The wolf nearly stopped dead in his tracks at the rat's comment. That was one of the most disgusting things he had heard from another man ever. He was happy when the man started snickering.
"Titles? You mean Mr. and Mrs. or the other titles?" He asked a bit of his curiosity perked. He didn't think this disgusting man worked at the courts. He didn't think the Court of Diamonds was fond of Lowlanders.

It's so much more rewarding to get in a bit of ...torture. I like it when they beg or .... cry.
He couldn't help but run his tongue over his buck teeth at the thought of tears, he not only loved the sight of them but ... the taste. It was such a shame he hadn't had a taste in years ... then again he'd had better things to do as of late then go around making girls cry ... it was too easy anyhow, especially since he was a lowlander.
All titles really, they're so bloody useless unless you're an egotistical son of a bitch.
His tail made a quick lash to one side before curling back up and off the ground again, even his son, the egotistical little brat that he was, didn't insist on having his title used. They just ... got you nowhere.
We should be there in the next ten minutes ... just a heads up in case you need to ... prepare.
