"Probably. I have no idea who Rocky is, but if he's responsible than I can see Loreta relying on him." She shrugged. As for the tea blend... "It's a vanilla, cinnamon, and rum blend. I think it's rather nice for vacations and summer days."
It wasn't be best blend, that was a given, but it normally left a rather nice aftertaste. She took a sip of her own tea. Maybe she should have asked for Xiven to put some sugar crystals in it--even if that wasn't a good thing to do. Anding sugar to something tart that was healthy for you was never a bright thing to do.
"So, do you like the blend or is it not your type of tea?" She was curious, of course. It wasn't her most creative blend and probably needed a bit more spice to it, but she had to ask.

Hatter listened intently to Peaches's description of the tea. Vanilla, cinnamon, and rum... When he thought about it he could pull the flavors apart much more easily and it brought a contented smile to his features. That was a wonderful idea.
"There are very few teas which can't agree with me, but this one is delightful." He chuckled warmly, sipping more deeply on his cup. "And I must agree: perfect for vacations and holidays."
Casually he leaned forward, glancing around the maze of roses. It was surprisingly quiet, which was delightfully peaceful but also a bit lonely. He had expected more people would be wandering through the gardens.
"Is it usually this quiet? Or is this a rare moment in the Court of Hearts?" The Joker tilted his head, peeking at Peaches from the corner of his vision as he sipped more deeply on his tea. In all honesty, he wanted to get a better look at everyone...to see who all made this place their home...but he wasn't about to investigate without Peaches. That would overstep his promise of not causing problems, he was sure.

(this won't last very long... I just felt it was appropriate P: ) Almost as if on cue, a raging toddler tumbled around the corner. He was barely old enough to have the coordination to run and was stumbling over himself whenever he reached a certain speed. Not to mention the trouble of turning corners. Recovering quickly from his fall and several feet of rolling, the pudgy puffball of puppy fat and fur wiggled back onto his feet and began his flopping, clumsy run when he spotted people! He sprinted at them, only to stumbled over his own over sized feet and flip over at their feet. Wiggling to his feet once more, he began making a series of high-pitched yips and howls as only a Coyote could make. His tail was wagging so violently as he looked up at them that it was causing him to lose balance. He bounced up and down on his front legs to encourage play time.

Sometimes fate engineered things perfectly. This was one of those times. Peaches wasn't one for children... even though she had two of her own they were terribly problematic. Of course that was probably because they were hers. Either way, Hadrian was a cute little ball of fluff and a refreshing change of pace.... even if he was a Club.
"This is Hadrian," Peaches explained over the series of yelps. "He's obviously excited to meet someone new." She reached down to ruffle the boy's mohawk. It was just a matter of if he would stay still long enough for her to actually preform the deed.
She had to wonder if he was going to grow up to be a lady killer like his father. Of course, he could always grow up to be as terrifying as his mother. Or he could end up unlike either of them.

Hatter's attention was abruptly dragged to the energetic figure which suddenly went running and stumbling into the gardens. That probably answered his question to. A rare moment, then, and he would appreciate it...though he didn't at all mind company either.
"Hadrian, hm? Pleasure to meet you, lad! I'm Hatter." He beamed pleasantly, watching the ball of pudgy fluff bounce in the way that only a hyperactive child could.
His eye, of course, grazed the Club on his chest and the Joker momentarily tilted his attention toward Peaches. He said nothing, but the curiosity in his eyes was evident. What was a little Club doing in the Court of Hearts? He was young enough, too, that he should have an overprotective mother sort looming about. So he said nothing aloud, for the time being, and instead found himself chuckling at the terrible likeness between him and another little club...
"You remind me of Kaden... Which is a terrifying thing indeed." Hatter would be sure to make note of that and never even dream of bringing Kaden here... The chaos the might ensue form such a meeting gave him chills.

It just so happened that in mid bounce, the wagging of his tail caused him to topple over. He bounced back in an instant to meet Peaches' hand. He allowed her hand to touch his mohawk for a second before he went to nipping at her hand in a playful manner. He bounced right on over to Hatter as soon as he acknowledged him. He bounced up so that his front paws where in the man's lap, be began biting the man's knee with his needle-like puppy teeth. ---- "FUCK!"The Bog Dweller yelled in surprise and frustration when she looked back at the child she left unattended for one second only to find him missing. Dropping the pile of books in her arms, she sprinted from the library, changing to her Animal form to follow the boy's scent. She really did not trust the members of the Hearts' Court enough to leave her child alone. She was just waiting for the day he would show up "mysteriously missing".

Peaches squeaked for a moment when Hadrian nipped her. Puppies. She forgot that they liked to bite things just as much as kittens. He was adorable though, and she "awwwed" when he started biting Hatter's knee. Brightly colored things were every child's friend afterall.
The feline suddenly realized that Hadrian probably wasn't supposed to be out on his own. Which meant that Heilyn had once again "lost" him. At least her child wandered off, not like when Peaches wandered off when Xiven was a child. Coming back to a crying Fluffy hadn't been fun.
"His mother is probably going to be looking for him soon. So we should probably try to keep him here. Which may prove a challenge." Peaches snorted. Hatter was probably wondering why there was a Club in the Court of Hearts. If he met the boy's mother he would understand. There was no crossing her.

Hatter made a vaguely surprised noise when the canine began to gnaw on his leg, definitely reminding him of his own little hellion. Bloody! Reaching out, he attempted to place his hand on the canine's head and hold those curious jaws away from gnawing holes into his pants.
"Oi, I would imagine so. He's rather young still but obviously a handful." The Hatter laughed only to receive another hard nip on the knee for his negligence. "I understand how it is; we can keep an eye on him." He grinned down at the toddler canine, making sure to keep moving...or to block the pup's cheerful attempts to gnaw whenever possible. "Who's the lad's mum anyway?" No one he knew, of course, but the curiosity remained.
He lifted his attention peering around the gardens briefly and, of course, momentarily letting his guard down which would give Hadrian ample room to chomp on the Joker once more.

[Sorry about that, ladies, I think the thread got buried... I completely forgot about it... >> ]
The boy perked up at the sound of his name. He was maybe 2 years old, and didn't have much of a command for language, so he often preferred not to speak, replacing it with hyper movement and noise rather than actual words.
Then Heilyn rounded the corner... the scent was stronger... THERE! He was with Peaches and... someone she didn't know. She shifted to her Human Form, which caught the boy's attention.
"Mommy!" he yipped happily and sprinted over to her, only to tumble into her feet. His tail wagged furiously and he tried to lick her face as she picked him up. She held the affectionate boy to her chest as she looked at Hatter.
"Hello," she greeted warily, looking between him and Peaches. The boy was a Jack, and he certainly felt her fear ability, which she didn't bother to tone down in front of the stranger, so his wild thrashing calmed to a tail wagging between his legs.
