"Heilyn," Peaches provided. "One and only Bog Dweller around that I know of." The bog was a region that Peaches barely knew about. One day she wanted to remedy that, but she wouldn't want to set foot in that realm. Poison never really sat well with her, and a region filled with it didn't make her feel much better. Yarrow was bad enough, she couldn't image the Bog.
She watched as the boy squealed and ran off to his mother. Peaches bit her lower lip. Hopefully this would go well and Hatter wouldn't be completely offended by Heilyn's blunt tendencies. Then again he was friends with Loreta....
"Hello Heilyn. This is Hatter. He's a good friend of mine," She smirked her typical smirk. "He's come for a visit to cause a bit of chaos with me."
The woman took this pause in conversation to down the rest of her tea.

The Bog? There was someone here from the Bog? The Joker's attention was instantly peeked and he looked over the little canine. He appeared to be full Solandrian, which was an awesomely fascinating breed as well. Hatter hadn't seen many of either region before, as they tended not to venture out of their regions very often. Today was going to be better than he'd originally thought!
And then mommy finally made her appearance upon the scene.
Heilyn was a rather good-looking example of Bog human, though she seemed a bit... severe for his type. He tilted his head for a moment, taking her in and the lack of stench that many claimed Bog Dweller's reeked of, before smoothly holding out his hand... only to realize that shaking hands might not work so well with her son squirming in her arms.
Heh, oops.
Retracting his hand, the Hatter ran it through his feathered hair instead. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Heilyn!" Luckily for Hatter, his clothes concealed any need for a false rank but even so, his usual choice for situations like these would have been a Jack or King of Diamonds, and both would have only been midly affected by the aura of fear at best.

"A friend of yours," she repeated quietly then looked over to the man, "and here I was hoping he was a harmless visitor." It was hard to tell if she was making a rude comment or a joke. She merely nodded to him as he held out his hand. Hadrian's thrashing became much milder, but she wasn't taking any chances. He was a very good looking man, this 'Hatter'. Pretty, tawny thing. What the hell kind of name is 'Hatter' anyway? ...actually, considering Peaches' job here, he's probably some form of information connection for her, so he might be protecting himself by giving an alias? she pondered the possibilities for his strange name as her facial expression remained neutral.
Her eyebrows twitched into a slight furrow as she looked over him. His clothing was of an incredibly strange pattern and there was little in his coloration to imply any region she knew of... he had to be a combination of at least three. Though the things that caught her attention the most was the band around his hat. It had all the suits on it. After that detail she assumed his outfit was something he changed to his own liking.
"I like your hat," she commented, the corner of her lips twitching to what could have been a smile. This separation of suits was something that always irked her, it was refreshing to see someone so open about not being an elitist snob.
"Me too!" piped up the child, "It's very tall and has stripes!" Heilyn shook her head and chuckled under her breath.
"Yes, it does have both of those things, doesn't it?" she scratched him behind the ear.

"I hope it's only slightly disappointing. I promise he'll be good to some degree. I wouldn't want explosions or anything in this stuffy place." She said with a small smile.
Introductions were fun things. She could only speculate what the pair thought of each other. Peaches knew that Heilyn was the suspicious sort... or was it paranoid. Either way it would be interesting. She smiled at Hadrian's response to his mother's comment. Xiven was that cute once upon a time. Now she was a snarky sort of girl who rolled her eyes at everything her mother said.
Why was she mentally bitching, anyway, she didn't want children in the first place.
"I suppose next time you come to the palace you can bring a few hats to show Little Hady if it's not too much trouble," Peaches said with her typical smirk on her lips. Hopefully next time would be a little more lively at the palace.

The comment, whether it was meant to be rude or joking, brought a mischievous smile to Hatter's features and Peaches only managed to widen it. He really did adore her sense of humor. "Well I don't intend on blowing anything up, of course, and I've promised to be on my best behavior." The Hatter tipped his hat slightly, but his grin never faded.
Hatter, while he made no comment of it as he finished his tea, was well aware of being studied.
Heilyn's roving eyes were followed by his own, making notice of the suspicious woman's actions. Committing him to memory, was she? When she paused on his hat, however, the Joker broke into a handsomely beaming smile.
Hatter liked talking about his hats. Hats were wonderful. Especially when combined with that little smile. What exactly had she noticed with those scrutinizing eyes that had brought up such a comment? Absently he reached up, running his fingers along the brim.
"Thank you, Heilyn. I like it a lot myself." The Hatter was, for a moment, tempted to ask Heilyn exactly why she liked his hat enough to bring mention to it but he was caught happily off guard by Peaches' suggestion. "Yes! This one is my favorite, but I have lots of other hats of all different sorts -- tall and stripey, solid colours, checker patterns -- all sorts." He leaned closer to Hadrian and Heilyn. "You name it, Hady, and I'll bring one by for you next time I visit."

[ACK!! I'm so sorry! I totally forgot about this thread! >> ]
Ah, explosions. Yes, couldn't have this man coming in and doing that. That job was for her and Bernard.
"That is good to hear," was all she said in reply in a somewhat monotonous tone. She was amused by his sudden change in mood. He suddenly relaxed from returning her examination and smiled brightly. Nice smile. Hadrian wagged his tail at it. The guy was super happy now, AND he wanted to see the hats, too!
"If your friend ever returns to us, I think it would be rather fun. Judging by the sudden increase in needed arm strength, I would assume that Hadrian agrees." She just looked down and he stopped again. Turning her head up and giving Hatter a wry smile, her thoughts once again turned to 'what in the hell is wrong with this child?'

"I'm sure Hatter would be more than happy to come back. He said he wanted to explore the palace anyway, and I don't think we have enough time for this visit for him to see everything anyway." Peaches said with a wide grin as she spontaneously hugged Hatter.
He really did make her feel better. It did hurt to think about what had happened, and he was sweet enough to make her forget. Maybe she could just manage to forget about the entire incident.
Though it was very hard to watch things fall apart and do nothing about it. She would never be able to do anything about it really. There was a brief moment where her bright smile faded, but it was quickly replaced on her face.
"Hey, Heilyn, do you and Hady have any plans this afternoon?" She grinned. Might s well keep the adorable little boy entertained.

Hatter grinned widely as he was hugged and quickly squished Peaches against him with one arm, beaming all the while. He adored Peaches' company in so many ways. And, so far, his taste of the Heart Court was intriguing as well. A Club boy with a very proud Heart woman, he enjoyed seeing the unity though he doubted it was shared Court-wide.
"I definitely intend to return. The company is pleasurable, and the palace is gorgeous... and I've only just got a glimpse at either. I fully intend to get a deeper look at both."
The brief waver in Peaches' smile was not missed, but it went unmentioned by Hatter. He wouldn't poke at it when he understood it, or at least some part of it, already. Instead he tightened his grip ever so slightly before inclining his head up at Heilyn and Hadrian...
Ooo, did Peaches intend to include them on the rest of their afternoon's activities? Hatter was up for that.

Even if Heilyn wasn't curious of this guest, she felt she wanted to keep an eye ont he troublesome youngster while one of Peaches' strange associates graced the court with their presence.
"Well, I did have paperwork planned for the afternoon, but I'm ahead enough to put it off for one day. However, if said plans cut into my time of screwing the baby-father, you might find yourself retracting your statement about pleasurable company," she smiled wryly, acting as if she hadn't blurted out a somewhat personal piece of information that not everyone might be keen on hearing.
Hadrian's tail began wagging and his blue tongue poked out of an open and panting mouth when he heard his name. And Mommy didn't say no... so did that... YEAH IT MEANT PLAY TIME! He made another noise and looked up at her, wondering when she was going to let him down so he could play with the fun lady and her nice man friend.

Peaches smirked. Oh this was more interesting than she had planned in the first place. She squished Hatter back cheerfully, giving him a brief lick on the cheek. She turned back to Heilyn.
She chuckled, "I could never keep you away from him for too long. I'm sure he could come after you anyway. He's good like that." Good in more ways than one. But she might as well keep those little bits of information to herself. After all they would probably kill her if they ever found out she watched them have sex.
And there was that one time. But that she would always keep to herself.
"Hey Hady! Do you want to play with Xiven today? She's been pretty lonely with just Fluffy as company." That was a small lie, but just in case he needed to be distracted while they wandered off to do things more adult, he should have some sort of distraction.
