Theofilus nodded before the doctor began his question. So Neil had been homeless for the majority of his life then? That did explain the name thing of course. Choking back a sigh he went thinking about arrangements on going back to the palace.
The doctor nodded his head thoughtfully. "Well, I'm going to prescribe some medicine. You need to take them twice a day until they run out. Also I need to give you one or two shots before you leave." He reached for a note bad and scribbled something down. Tearing the paper he handed it to Theofilus. "You know where to get it filled."
He turned back to Neil. "Now, are you willing to let me give you shots without much of a fuss, or do you want the nurse to do it?" He had a rather cheerful smile on his face. Hopefully this would be easy.

Neil wanted to disappear.
What was Theofilus going to think of him now? He was just a street urchin, there was nothing else to him. Or, well, that's what Neil feared Theofilus would think of him.
"Alright." He murmured quietly, fidgeting again. What was this man going to make him take? Was he sick..? He felt fine...better than he had in a while, actually. He didn't ask for now, though. He would ask Theofilus later, once the doctor was gone. "I'll take them."
Shots though. Oh suits. No, no. He didn't want shots! The fox whimpered a little, though he untangled himself from the ball he'd curled up in. His hands clenched the end of the bench so hard his knuckles hurt, but he nodded nervously. "O-Okay, y-you can do it. I w-won't fuss." But he was terrified and it was painfully obvious.

"Don't worry, I promise I'll be careful," The doctor said as he opened up one of the trays that he had brought in previous for the checkup. He picked up one of the needles and tested it briefly before making his way over to needle.
The injection was a quick one. He probably would have felt nothing more than a prick. "See, that wasn't all that bad? Now one more and we're set. You won't have to see me anymore unless you get sick and his Majesty thinks you should see me." The doctor hummed cheerfully as he disposed of the needle and went back to retrieve the other.
The other shot was just as quick. "Rub your arm a bit there and you should be fine. Now, you can head off!" He said cheerfully and offered Niel his hand. Once they had shook hands he offered his hand to Theofilus and departed.
Theofilus stood. Hopefully Niel would be a bit less shaky now that everything was over. "We can get this prescription filled and then head back to the apartment. Sound like a plan?"

Neil whimpered during the shots, though he inwardly acknowledged the painless brevity of them both. It was simply anxiety which drove the sounds from his muzzle. He would be insanely thankful once this was all over. The fox smiled weakly at Dr. Raymound once he finished and rubbed his arm as directly.
"I-It wasn't that bad at all." He reached out then, politely shaking the other male's hand. "T-Thank you, Dr. Raymound."
He stood up slowly, a little shaky still but relaxing quickly. Theofilus had been right, and Neil was glad he'd trusted the Queen. That... That was still an odd thought for the young diamond to absorb. Why was a Queen, even The Queen, helping him at all? He was just a street urchin, a bum.
"Yeah. That sounds good." He slipped up a bit closer to Theofilus and smiled warmly. "Thank you, again. No one's ever been so nice to me."

"You're quite welcome. I'm just glad I was able to find you when I did. I couldn't let someone as sweet and as talented as you stay on the street, could I?" Theofilus said with a smile. He would leave the subject there and head over to the herbalist. Thankfully it was only a five minute walk between the doctor's office and there.
He handed the herbalist the paper, which he somehow managed to read, and the man promptly began fixing up the medication. After a few minutes he handed Theofilus a bag with instructions neatly attached. Now they could head back to the apartment.
It was about a twenty minute walk. Theofilus started a conversation about the courts and how they worked. Hopefully this would prevent Neil from being completely shocked about his new job. The sparrow imagined that the shock of actually meeting the Queen of Diamonds wasn't going to wear off anytime soon, but he could try to lighten the mood as best he could with idle chatter.

Neil's face flushed, the white on his cheeks blending nearly flawlessly with the rest of the pink-purple of his fur. No one... No one had ever been this nice. Especially not a face card.
However, by the time he managed to get from the doctor to the herbalist and back out again, his blush had subsided entirely and his eyes were glued to Theofilus once more. He was absolutely ravenous to learn more. About the life above his little box and the politics surrounding the work he would be doing soon.
It was going to be strange, there was no denying that, to be moving straight from an absolute nothing, a bum playing music in cardboard boxes, to a Something. A real Court Musician no less! His tail wagged heavily, asking questions where ever they were appropriate and drinking in every answer he received.
"When... When will I get to see the Courts?" He didn't want to seem pushy but he was so curious.

"Well, I was planning to leave this afternoon actually. It's a bit of a trek in the carriage and I was thinking we could just leave in the morning and everything would be easier." He unlocked the door to his apartment and ushered Neil in.
Glancing at his pocket watch he noted the time. It was a half an hour before the carriage was actually supposed to show up. Theofilus would have to decide by then if he was going to be leaving sooner or later with Neil. "So, how eager are you to see the palace?" He asked as he slipped the keys back into his pocket. "And do you want anything to drink?"
He glanced down at the instructions on the medication for Neil. He had to take two pills a day. One in morning and one in the evening. The first dosage could be taken as soon a possible or they could just wait until tonight.

Neil stepped in as ushered, thoughtlessly obeying the other male's directions. Theofilus has proved to be a kind and hadn't yet done anything to betray the boy's trust. He would follow him to the end of the earth for the brief display of kindness he'd been shown.
"I... I'm pretty eager, but I can wait. Leaving in the morning does sound like it'd be easiest." He nodded a little, and smiled up at the sparrow. "Which time would you prefer to go, Theofilus? I don't want to interrupt your plans or anything and I'd be just fine with any time, really."
Slowly he drifted further inside, finding a chair to lean up against. His eyes had briefly brushed the bag which contained his medicine and now the fox was trembling a little. This whole doctors and medicine bit left him horribly uncomfortable, but there was nothing he could really do about that now. He promised to trust Theofilus and so he would.
"Drink? Uhm, mhm... D-Do you have juice? That or water would be really nice."

"We leave in the morning then," Theofilus said cheerfully as he went to fetch some juice. "We have apple and grape I believe." He hummed quietly as he went to the refrigerator. He placed the bag on the counter top table as she shuffled through the contents of the fridge.
After producing the bottle that Neil requested he poured a glass for him. Grabbing a second glass Theo grabbed himself some water. He brought out both the glasses and grabbed the medicine.
"All right Neil. You should take one of these pills with your juice. I promise it's nothing that horrible." He tried to stay as upbeat as possible while opening the bag and pill bottle. Taking medicine was never fun. "You won't have to take the medicine for very long, and once you're done with it you won't have to bother with medicine for a long while."
