What a hideous mess. Dorian refrained from scowling - he didn't want to cause himself nasty wrinkle lines by his forehead and muzzle, much less aggravate the beastly things growling and screeching at him. He held as still as possible, watching them converse amongst themselves and at him. Then he allowed himself a light frown.
Honestly, the thing was frightening. The way its fur shivered up and down its huge, unsightly back made something in the pit of his stomach feel sour, and the teeth were just awful. He would be happy never to interact with another Card for as long as he lived. That was what Leverets in disguise were for.
He didn't say anything in response to the creature, just nodded shortly and very slowly reached into his inner jacket pocket where he had placed all four feathers. His fingers closed around one and withdrew it, and then he let it go and ran like a bat out of hell. The feather slowly drifted towards Hadrian with the force of his passing.
The others were his.

Hadrian let him go. Good. Everything was civilized and calm and... wait... ONE feather?!
"OH FF--" he stopped in the middle of his swearing when he saw Andrei. Right. Family show.
"--uck?" Andrei finished for him with a completely innocent look on his face. Hadrian sighed and rolled his eyes. Of course. What could he expect out of something raised by his parents? "Um, Big Half Brother?" he asked, picking up his lone feather with his wing thumb, "I think he didn't give me back all my feathers. He definitely took more than this." As proof, he showed Hadrian the sore spot missing his precious flight feathers.
This... sucked.
"Alright, kid. Let's go home," he bent down so Andrei could climb onto his back. As the boy did so, Hadrian kept talking, "We need to figure out how to fix this problem... and you can't tell anyone that you saw a Rabbit, okay? If anyone asks it was a Card." And the entire way back home Hadrian explained why people would think he was crazy for saying he saw a Rabbit.
---
He needed information. He knew very little Corvistownes, and none of them had any project even remotely similar to his problem. He knew a few doctors, but regrowing feathers? He knew bird moulted naturally, but what were the chances that his dominant Bat heritages canceled the regrowing process out? He needed to find some one who could help him. Who better than she who made it her life to gather information?
“Um, Peach...er... Your Excellency?” he asked, approaching her while she was alone, “Can I ask you something?”

Peaches flopped backwards in her chair, propping her legs on the desk as she stared at the ceiling. Paperwork was piled up enough that someone couldn't see her if they walked into the room. She really shouldn't have let it get so bad, but recently she had been distracted. Nothing new, but it was enough to keep her away from her job. And procrastinating just a little bit more wasn't going to kill her. She sighed before sliding out of her chair and making her way to the kitchen. Having a nice bit of tea would make things go smoothly. She didn't expect to be interrupted by Hadrian at any point of the day. She gave him a rather curious look when he used her formal title. He was a Club, but he was Heilyn's son, which made things Different. "Ask away!" She said cheerfully with a smirk.

The Bat hybrid was busy behind the Canine after he'd stop to play with his exceptionally fluffy tail. When he began speaking with someone else... Peaches! He like the crazy purple haired lady. She hanged on the ceiling upside down like he did! He took it upon himself to climb up Hadrian's butt onto his back. The little claws pricking his skin made him jump.
"Andrei!" he chided the child, "If you want up, you know to ask and not climb!" Andrei made a sorry face as he shimmied up his back to his shoulders, then gave Hadrian a lick with his very long tongue. Canines liked that, right? Hadrian sighed and shook his head and turned his attention back to Peaches.
"Thank you. Um, this one here got into a bit of trouble and managed to lose a few of his primary flight feathers..." Andrei shifted to his hind legs so he could raise the offended wing to show her, "It's going to be a very long time for them to grow back, if they do at all. You know a lot of people, right? Do you know anyone who maybe... I dunno, specializes in something like this? He really needs to be able to fly..."

Peaches honestly enjoyed the little terrors that ran around the palace. Even if they caused quite a bit of trouble, who could hate something as cute as Andrei? She choked back a giggle when the boy had tried to climb Hady.
She raised an eyebrow when the wing was lifted. How in the name of the suits did that happen? Peaches shrugged it off as boys would be boys. The question was enough to make her raise a second eyebrow in thought. Who did she know, if anyone, who could make feathers grow back?
She mentally went though the list of people she had heard of or knew in Corvistowne. Hatter had mentioned several strange people. And there was the gossip she heard while there. Loreta had a few rants...
"There is a flight specialist in Corvistowne. He deals with big feather wings and the like. Uh... Rocco. I've heard he's a rather strange massive raccoon with brightly colored wings and extra limbs. But apparently he can fly, so he knows what he's doing." Peaches paused, "I suppose I could ask a friend for his address."

Hadrian's eyes widened slightly. This was... Oh, thank the suits for the Corvistownes! A flight specialist sounded exactly like what he needed.
"That sounds... yes, thank you so much!" he was definitely perked by this, "I'll be here so Mom can dump kids on me and shove me away from her, so I'll be here for a few days. Will you just find me when you have that information, or should I come find you after a few days?" It was just Peaches, he knew that. She was a kooky lady, but she was still a noble. Should he be more formal? What was the proper way to go about this? Andrei just stared at her. She did funny things sometimes and he didn't want to miss it when she did! She was something of a mystery to him. She must have great stories of adventures to tell!
