He was bundled up in a deep blue cloak, per usual, a semi-normal sight in the Court of Clubs. Now, however, a leather hat was always jammed onto his head, obscuring the view of his right eye, and he was rather careful about who saw his hands. He nodded lightly to the guards, most of whom recognized him and those who didn't were quietly informed by their partners to leave the green stallion well enough alone. Today, the stallion had another pouch of papers for a certain mouse and he made his way to the Queen of Club's suite humming lightly under his breath. He gave an almost imperious rap at the door before opening it to let himself in. By this time of the evening, when the day was on the cusp of falling into night, Aderlass was usually finished with his meetings and wotnot.

He was almost done with the stack of paperwork that was on his desk. After this he would call it a day, there would always be more paperwork for tomorrow. He had loads of it organized in his closet that seemingly would never end. The muscles in his back were starting to bother him again, he was due for another massage soon, and so after he was done soaking sounded like something that would be in order. Hearing the rap on the door, his attention was brought away from the form he was currently looking over, he looked up to meet Malc’s gaze raising an eyebrow questioningly. For all that he knew there was not suppose to be anymore meetings for the day, so who was at the door? After a brief moment of pondering he gave the younger male a nod of his head to show him that he was to see to who was at the door.

Malc sat quietly beside Aderlass staring at the paperwork in front of him. His pen scratched furiously across each new piece of leaf and vellum. He would get this done before lunch, and he would tackle Pascha, and fun WOULD be had for all. Damn it. Why did so many new people have to be hired this month, it was bordering on the edge of being ridonkulous. That's right, he said ridonkulous. He had just put down his pen to rub at his eyes when the knock came at the door and he looked over to Ader, assuming he knew what it was. By the look on the Queen's face however the mouse male had no clue either. Malchiah shrugged and looked towards the door before rising and crossing quietly across the floor towards it. He was almost tempted to ask who it is but didn't for fear of offending if it was someone important. He swung the door open carefully and stood tall and straight in the opening. "Malchiah, . . your majesty. How may I .. be of service?" A queen 0o well that was new.

Pascha, truth to be told, was asleep. He hadn't meant to, but he'd been in the midst of a spell for about an hour and when it finally released him he'd been exhausted, and hey! A convenient surface to sleep on! The owl had no idea how long he'd been asleep--the loud, impatient ticking of his watch next to his face awoke him, having been waiting for him to awaken to see it's time--but it was edging towards dark now, and had definitely been light before all of this had started. Perhaps this was a sign he needed to be getting more sleep. Or at the very least, he should not share a bed with Malc a few nights a week.. though that wasn't likely to go over well with said bird. The owl sighed and rubbed at his face, then sat up and made a face at his watch. An hour. Not bad, but anything was bad. And it was almost time for dinner and.. paperwork. He still had bloody paperwork. Sweet effervescent pear trees, would it never end? He was hungry, he was still tired, and damn if he didn't need a hug. Annoyed, Pascha let his head slam back down to the desk and simply sat there.

Unfortunately for the bird, the stallion was already halfway through the door, pulling off his cloak and baring the beautiful red rank and suit on his chest. "Aderlass," he'd already began to call out to the other Queen when he very nearly ran into the Selki Lakes sparrow. His mind was only half on the other man's words. "Ah, right, Malchiah. Yes, I just need to talk to Aderlass."
It didn't occur to him to tack on all of the extra niceties, even to The Queen of Clubs. They very nearly lived together, and they'd known each other for years. The equine had no reason to stand on formality and he was a Queen in of his own right.
The stallion made it to the desk to hand the papers to the mouse when it occurred to him to ask, "Wot happened to Pascha?"

When Malc had gone to answer the door the mouse had turned his attention back to the paper before him. At his name, though, he found his head snapping up. What was Whip doing here? True they still often met but generally there was more then just this surprise. Raising an eyebrow at his friend he motioned to the chairs, pleasantries forgotten and unneeded.
“Cha is still around . . . somewhere? He is probably in my suites cleaning. Malchiah here takes care of the small paperwork that Pascha used to work on.”
Eyebrow still raised he silently invited his friend to explain his purpose for being in the Club Court. There was nothing wrong with his friend to drop by, though will all of the current demands of his own Court he figured this was probably more then just a social call. Not sure if Malc should be dismissed not or yet he remained silent, allowing the sparrow to remain in the office.

The stallion made a small humming noise in the back of his throat, but said nothing. Aderlass was The Queen of Clubs and the stallion certainly trusted the other man enough to let him be in his choices; wotever those might be.
For now he simply put it from his mind, shifting to other topics that couldn't wait quite as well. The horse gestured to the papers on the mouse's desk; the top and bottom sheets detailed properties for sale, but the middle ones were filled with rows of numbers and figures, descriptions of people, most of them Lowlanders.
Triangular ears flicked back again, uncertain of how free he was to speak with Malchiah in the room. So he began with the properties for sale. "Samid found these," he said easily, grey-green eyes not showing any hidden unease he might have. "It might be time to expand your business here in the Capital or even out in the regions."

Malchiah wasn't the swiftest but he knew old friends when he saw them. He bowed a little to the Hearts Queen and quickly moved from his path. Smoothly he moved to where he had been doing paperwork, scooping it all up in one move and sweeping his arm towards the chair for the guest. Wouldn't do to make him stand there while Malc sat to do paperwork.
He set the papers down on another small desk off to the side before bowing from the neck again before the two men. "May I fetch you two anything from the kitchens?" He knew to offer privacy if it was wanted, if not, he'd sit across the room and work until Ader told him to do otherwise.
Waiting, he smiled at the two until he heard his orders. He sort of hoped Ader would let him stay, business always interested him.

Interested to see what it was that his friend had traveled over to show him he started to flip through the top papers. It would definitely be something that he would be interested in. His jewelry shop was doing really well and if he spread it out some to other regions he was sure he could help more people out that were in the craft as well as help to make his business do better.
At Malc’s question he glanced up, looked towards his friend with a questioning look, before waving to the sparrow in dismissal. “No I think we are fine for now.” Searching back through the pages he spotted a few that caught his attention more then other and pulled them out, placing them in a new pile.
“These are very interesting.” He replied. Coming across one of the stat pages in the middle of the pile he raised an eyebrow in question though he remained silent on the matter.
“Actually, Malc, if you are all done with your work for the day, why do you not go have some tea prepared and bring it to my suite? I think we shall retire there after dealing with some of these matters.” He said in easy dismissal of the male, his face betraying nothing but honest attention towards the property page that had been placed back on top of the pile.

Rai gave a sudden grin towards the bird. "And if there's any coffee, grab that as well." He wasn't just a Queen, he bore the very air of a titled Queen who well knew his own worth. "Tea is for Court meetings where everyone has to play nice." He turned to his friend as though for verification. He already knew the mouse's game and was counting on it.
Just a little time to go over the notes on the people and the statistics that had been dug up was all they really needed and then they could return to the nice business of jewelery shops and making money. Not that the stallion was really hurting for it anymore, which was also a nice change. He wouldn't go over any of the Lowlander stuff until he was certain it was safe and currently Malchiah was an unknown.
