(( OOC: >_>; *waves* Bad title I know. ))Xiven had found out particularly disturbing news that day. She had skipped her period for two months and simply thought it was stress. But there were other things wrong. Being queasy every morning, not being able to stomach certain foods she normally ate. So she went to the court doctor and... found out she was pregnant. Of course the only person she had slept with in the last two months was Rhi and she was gone for maternity leave. To make matters worse Xiven had to be responsible and tell her parents.... and the people to be in in laws. Her tail puffed up as she walked down the hallway. All of the servants who passed her paid no mind, thankfully. "What am I so worried about. I can do this, no one will be angry. Everything will be just fine."She stopped in front of Heilyn's door. Her hand poised to knock. She repeated to herself that everything would be fine. Hopefully someone would be there... anyone so she didn't have to keep this a secret,.

Seth was laying across Heilyn's bed, a book on outdated court policies draped across his face, serving only to block out the sunlight that was peeking through the window. Heilyn was nowhere to be seen, and the bat had largely given up on looking for her, deciding instead to take the time to rest while he still could. His pants were unzipped slightly and he scratched at his crotch in a compeltely unattractive manner, muttering to himself in his sleep about nothing in particular. Her knock at the door reached his ears and the man scrambled to his feet, head whipping around the room to make sure no one had been able to see him in such a compromising position, hurriedly zipping up his fly once more. Once he was sure he looked presentable, he went to the door, opening it slowly. " Oh, Xiven![/b]" he exclaimed as he opened the door, expression lifting noticably as he saw her there. Then his brows furrowed again. " Heilyn's not actually here right now, she should be back later... Can I get you something to drink? Tea? Whiskey?[/b]" he opened the door the rest of the way, motioning for the woman to enter.

Xiven's tail twitched in protest as she watched the door open. She could feel something in the bit of her stomach. Oh no. Oh no. Her tail puffed up slightly before Seth was revealed.
Oh thank Heavens. "Uh... water. I think if you have any cold water that would be nice." She said quietly as she fiddled with her necklace. She still had to tell Papa that she was pregnant... and mom. Oh, no this wasn't going to go well at all.
"I have something really important to tell you, Seth. You and Heilyn but... I think telling you first would make things easier." Xiven said as she stepped into the room. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest. Why was she so bloody nervous about this? Maybe it was because the person she had sex with was Seth's little girl and she currently had no idea where she was. Ugh. Ball of hormones. This was not going well.

Water? Well, that was easy enough... There was almost always a pitcher of ice in the room, and today was no exception to that rule. The man used his ability to fill the pitcher with water as well, pouring Xiven a tall glass and handing it to the girl. He raised an eyebrow slightly, red eyes watching her curiously. Something seemed off about the normally confident girl, as if there was some worry. He sat down on the bed, patting the space next to him in an invitation for her to sit. What on earth could have her so panicked-looking? Could it be that something had happened to Rhiannon?
At her next words, the bat's eyes widened slightly and he found himself leaning closer, expression just as nervous as Xiven's was. "Is it Rhi? Is she okay?[/b]" the man asked quickly, his worry showing through in every little movement he made. "We haven't heard anything from her since she left other than a letter telling us she was fine and not to ask after her...[/b]"
Seth could only hope that Xiven, his daughter's Queen, would have some answers as to what the hell was going on.

She was grateful for the water and took a sip as soon as it passed into her hands. She sat next to him when he offered a seat. It made her feel a bit better. Of course her nerves bunched back when he gave her that look. If only she knew about Rhi's status. The girl hadn't even sent her a letter... she just left.
Xiven felt a burning in her eyes. Damnit. Stupid hormones. Normally she could keep this under wraps but this was getting difficult. The thought of Rhi with someone she didn't know... on maternity leave. Jealousy was flaring up, but she had to try and focus."I haven't heard from Rhi at all. That's part of the problem..."
She took deep breath and a long drink of water before speaking again. "You see... the problem is that I'm pregnant. I'm very pregnant and... your daughter is... well the Daddy."
The feline's ears pulled back as she choked for a moment. Tears were running down her cheeks. This was just miserable. She wanted to stop but she couldn't. "I-I-I'm so s-s-sorry."

What a long, boring meeting. Heilyn yawned and stretched quite openly as she got up and left the room to return to hers. Perhaps this calls for a little nap? Maybe. If she had to beat off various members of her family, not much napping could be accomplished, but it might wake her up, so it's all good, really. She returned to find the Xiven was in her room. She was... crying? She had missed everything except for the apology at the end and was very worried. Xiven was usually so composed. What could've possibly happened that she would break down crying... and... go to Seth? This was very strange. "Xiven?" she called from the doorway in a concerned tone, "What's wrong?" She sat down on the side of her Queen opposite of Seth.

So even his daughter's Queen knew nothing about her wherabouts... Seth couldn't help but worry about the canine mix, she had always been strong but delicate in her own way. He let out a quiet sigh, distress coating his tone, and then shook his head, gently patting the feline on the back. She'd been having a hell of a time, he knew. He and Heilyn were not, by any stretch of the imagination, the only people who had lost Rhiannon, and that thought brought something to mind. "I'm sure she'll be back soon,[/b]" he said, voice sounding unsure. "She mentioned you in her letter, you know. Said she missed you and that Lyn and I should make sure you didn't get too lonely.[/b]"
He didn't speak in time, it would seem, because the feline suddenly delivered a bomb of information. Seth froze where he sat, red eyes wide. How was he supposed to react to this? At least this time he knew who his daughter had been making the beast with two backs with, but she was nowhere to be seen, leaving her pregnant lover with no way to contact her.
And Xiven, one of the strongest girls Seth knew, was crying. When Rhiannon returned, the bat would be having Words with his daughter.
Seth reached out to Xiven awkwardly, wrapping one arm around the girl's shoulder in what he hoped would be a reassuring way. Before he could speak, Heilyn entered, and Seth gave her a small smile. "Xiven's brought us some wonderful news,[/b]" he said softly, hoping to calm the poor feline down by making her feel more comfortable. "We're gonna be grandparents. Again. And parents sorta too, because Xiven's officially part of the family now.[/b]"

Xiven's breathing shuddered heavily as she tried to regain control. When had she cried this hard...? Actually she didn't want to think about it because that would probably make it worse. Crying in front of people was bad enough she didn't need to completely lose it.
Sniffing a bit she wiped her eyes when Heilyn came in. Crap, this wasn't going as planned. The feline felt a little better when Seth spoke up. It made things easier. At least he put it more eloquently than she could have at the moment. She buried her face in her hands. She still had to tell Mom and Papa about this.
"I'm... I'm so sorry. I wanted to tell you some other way but... Rhi's not here and I don't know what to do. I don't even know how to tell my own parents... and I know neither of them are going to be happy about it." She choked. Dad was off his rocker and Mom... Mom NEVER wanted grandchildren.

Heilyn blinked in surprise at the news. Grandparents...? She felt a pang of pride at the news that her family was being continued further, but at the same time a touch of fear. She was beginning to suspect that she, herself, was pregnant again and was holding off mentioning anything to Seth until her suspicions were confirmed. She smiled as Xiven broke down, remembering her own emotional rollercoasters. And the news that her family line was being continued through a candidate who she very much approved of.
"Xiven," she said, sitting down next to the girl, wrapping her arms around her shoulders, "No matter how things go with either of your parents, know that you have Seth and my full support." Rhiannon on the other hand... the entire situation blew Heilyn's mind. Pregnant, but refusing the excellent care that could be provided to her by the Heart's Court and cutting off all communication to her family and to her Queen. She looked at the Feline.
"If you ever need anything, you can come to us."

Oh, good. Heilyn didn't seem upset in any way. It was an entirely different matter when your child impregnated someone than when someone got them pregnant, he was quickly realizing. He felt only joy and a touch of pity for the feline that sat before them, where as the news of Rhiannon's own pregnancy had enraged him. It was much the same when he'd learned that his children had lost their virginity - he was overjoyed for Hadrian, and while he was also pleased for Rhiannon there was a very large part of him that wanted to track down whoever had stolen his daughter's innocence away and make them pay horribly.
"If you need it,[/b]" he started, shifting somewhat awkwardly as he did and giving Xiven a small smile. "I can go with you when you talk to your parents. I've never met your pop, but I know your mother...[/b]" he wouldn't tell anyone how well he knew Peaches. That information was very much private.
"It's not the same as having Rhi with you, but it at least means you won't need to face it alone.[/b]" he felt pleased with his words. While he hadn't started on a very strong note, it seemed he'd managed to find it by the end.
