Through years of observation of many different personalities, it wasn't hard to see that the mouse was a bit bemused, if not even a bit embarrassed to be caught in such a state. For a while she let the mouse be, but as they were traveling in the same direction it meant a long walk side by side without a word. While Zuberi had no qualms about silence, she felt at least somewhat rude if she didn't at least try to strike up some sort of conversation.
"So, what has your sort out by she sea? I hope ye don't take offense friend, but you don't seem quite comfortable in your surroundings at the moment." And with that, she even spared a worried glance in her direction. What would send a person out of their comfort zone? Was she in trouble? It wasn't hard to get in trouble in the Yarrows, from what she had heard. With her personal beliefs, it didn't seem right to set such a strict hierarchy and treat men the way they did. Personally Zuberi wasn't biased one way or another; she merely had a place for her heart already.

Souris wasn't bemused, so much as startled, to encounter the squirrel sauntering along the beach, as she floundered. Embarrassed, maybe, but more disgusted with herself, for her momentarily laspe of dignity. Nevertheless, she was quick to grasp the silence as the basis for cloaking herself back in her customary composure, so that when the Midori spoke, she answered, almost with perfect aplomb,"I came to seek an epiphany," almost teasingly.
Personally, her views on the ideals of the Gardens were neutral, she could either take it, or leave it, but she frequently adopted the general attitude for her own amusement. Particularly when she encountered a fascinating female with a character that drew a Card in. She smiled recklessly up at the biped, letting her strength shimmer beneath the surface of her golden orbs, almost flirting, as she tried to misdirect the stranger's train of thought, even as she absently wondered if the stranger was aware how much better females were considered, in her culture.
Better to mate with for one. Better to breed with, for another.

Zuberi's smile that followed was one of a patience that had been well cultivated over her life. Though she'd never admit it to a Yarrow, when the ultra feminist females decided to take their vacation in her village, she was often the subject of interest.. and their advances often had her sighing 'Yarrows... all the same.' in much the same manner as one would sigh and proclaim 'men.... all the same.' Needless to say the flirting did not come as a surprise.
"An epiphany eh? Strange, it seems I've had more than a few people tread these beaches looking for something of the sort. I don't really know what they be looking for in particular most the time.. but I suppose that be a personal thing." Then she smiled, giving a shrug. "I suppose it always be some sort of change though."
Well, if the mouse had the audacity to flirt with her, she certainly wouldn't mind extending her name, right? "The name's Zuberi, by the way." She mentioned, looking toward the mouse expectantly for her to respond to the introduction in kind.

Well here was a friendly fellow! She's met smokers in the past who did not have as much courtesy as he did, not really caring if they blew smoke in someone else's face. She smiled and took the offered seat in the hay next to the pink and green Lion. She listened intently as he spoke. So... it sounded like Kaya just imprinted on him, but... more than a pet? That violent...?
She nodded. Sometimes pets - no matter what anyone else thought of them - always had a special place in the heart of the owner.
"So... if you're, uh, short on... brains... what do you feed her? Do you just let her hunt?" It was insane to think someone could feel comfortable around one of those creatures. eh, whatever floats your boat.

He smelled heavily of Midori weed to be sure, and his huge lion head turned to face the badger sitting next to him sending another wave of smell. But he would most certainly not blow it in her face. It was just rude, espcially if the person wasn't interested in smoking. Besides...all the more smoke for him. His eyes were watery, and almost entirely pink, except for the emerald green of his irises staring back kindly. He enjoyed passerby people who stayed to chat with him a bit. He was a man with very little worries in his life. All he really had to do was make sure the crop was ok...and watch out for Kaya's occational 'temper tantrums'. Otherwise, the days were rather long a dull. Swimming and smoking took up most the rest of the time.
"I-yah mek Kaya gwan an hunt, buh mi feah dat har'll hat cards." he noded taking another puff, again careful to make sure the smoke didn't end up in Liv's face, "She ih wild afta all. A ih in har nature". He wiggled his pawed fingers between his thick dreads, getting to the scalp and closing his eyes as he scratched. He did really worry about what would happen to Kaya if she killed a card. Even if she did such a thing, he would be horribly sad to see her exterminated. What would most likely happen in that case. He smiled a bit and opened up half-lidded eyes, taking another puff while he spoke, the smoke coming out in little clouds as his mouth opened and closed as he exhaled, "Mi gwan fi da butcher fram tim ta tim. Ax fa lefova chikan brains, etc. Ya cun get em cheep."

Souris did not quite like that smile. Long suffering and blasé, the smile said more clearly than any words that she had been previously hit on before…many times. She resented that – she’d wanted to be the first.
Not that she actually wanted the squirrel, oh, no!
She shoved the very thought away savagely. Then the disinterest shouldn’t bother her, at all. She tried not to rationalize the situation any further, and smiled, almost naturally, to cover the silence, as she thought, filling the conversational gap with a response in kind, “Souris –” she answered, her voice deliberately off-hand, as her mind raced to remember if her family had ever vacationed here, on the Beach, before, coming up blank. Certainly neither had taken her along…
“- Rosier” she finished, risking the family name. “I wanted to see if I had any affinity for” – with – “the sea”. She offered, tartly, careful not to give her more information than the Midori asked.

What an odd, creature, this mouse was! She had been so keen to be flirtatious, but it still baffled the squirrel how she tried to be so.. secretive. She found it funny, really, for she wasn't trying to pry.
"Well Souris, I don't know what ye affinity for the sea be, but you sure well don't have an affinity for the shore!" She giggled lightly, amused by her own joke. "Iffen ya wan check your seaworthiness, you got to get out there on the wadda. There be several villages where people are willin' to take you out on a boat for a fee. They do it for the tourists that come around these parts but sometimes you can find someone who actually wants ta show you the ropes instead of ride you around to see the sights." Even as she spoke, her accent wavered from thick to a more common tongue, but always was it laced with a trace of Midori accent. Sometimes she lapsed back into the old tongue, but she'd learned proper speaking from her father.

[X9 nuuu! ]
Liv greatly appreciated his gesture of turning away from her to blow his smoke. She'd had customers at her old tour guide job who'd blow smoke right in her face, sometimes even on purpose.
"That's... wow," Liv was still having a hard time believing it. A real live jubjub bird. She never thought she'd see one up close and not die. Not to mention getting jubjub care tips. "She's a lovely creature, even if she is uh," volatile? Violent? Terrifying? "a creature with the nature she has... but other than Kaya, what else happens around here?" she asked. She loved exploring other cultures. She would always feel something of a jackass to invite herself into them, but she loved learning about them. "I wanna see the places that aren't tourist traps." There was a slight excitement to her voice.
