Oh wouldn't momma be proud? He was finally practicing something the rat-eagle taught him! He kept his body low to the ground as he crept around the corner, his tail held straight out behind him except for a slight upward curl at the end. Papa was out of sight now, but his forward perked ears could still hear the other canine heading down the hall and he didn't quite want to get caught just yet. Suits come to think of it ... papa didn't even know he'd made his own way through the Capitol to come visit him did he? Wouldn't that be a nice surprise to him later? He'd have to remember to find Anatolius later ... he didn't want to be left here accidentally... wherever here was. His red lined ears swiveled a bit as he listened, trying to pick up the sound of those familiar foot falls again and ... nothing. He was officially free to explore to his heart's content and his tail curled over his back as he rose fully onto his paws. He pulled his wings in close to his sides, not wanting to set a strangers things on fire accidently, and set off in a prancey little trot. He lifted his head, wet nose wiggling ever so slightly as he tested the air ... so many smells! And there was so much to see too, it was a lot different here then at home. In his excitement not only did his flame colored tail start to sway from side to side in a cheerful manner ... but he stopped paying attention to anything that was in his immediate line of sight as well.

He had just gotten out of the third meeting of the day and was ready for a break. While it was his every goal to help out his people to the greatest extent, the formalities that everything seemed to have to take was the part he could not stand. Tucking the folder that held all the notes he had taken - not to mention the many more doodles - under his arm he turned left at the corner planning to drop off the files in his office before disappearing for a few hours. As he hummed to himself, swinging his cane back and forth with his other arm, it was the flicker of fire out of the corner of his eyes that drew his attention. Coming to a stop he backed up a few steps till he could better see what it ha been. It appeared to be a canine, one that almost resembled a King of his. His coloring was an odd collection of what seemed to be Morganberry and Lowlander. The wings that seemed to be flames was what caught and held his interest the most. Those were interesting.

This place didn't seem so bad, actually .... it was huge but ... it didn't smell entirely unpleasant. He dipped his head and sniffed at the ground a bit, black nose twitching and tail waving all the while. Boy were there a lot of different people's scents around this place! Not as many as the Capitol of course but still a considerable amount. Did that mean that there was lots of people here though, or just a lot that passed through? The first half of that thought got his tail to wag a little faster until it slowed almost to a stop. Oh, that's right ... he was trying to be sneaky, wasn't he?
triangular ears perked fully forward when he picked up two distinct sounds. The first was foot steps and then a few moments after that ... humming. That definitely meant someone was coming, and that someone most certainly wasn't papa. He lifted his head and kept his ears fixed on where the sounds would eventually lead the stranger to, his tail still and arched over his back and orange eyes glued to the location as well.
That was when the man made an appearance and his look made the puppy tilt his head to the side, curiosity dancing over his features. A human? He'd never seen one of those up close! and ... oh! It was staring at him. His tail started to sway again and a friendly little smile appeared on his muzzle. That coat was .... really nifty looking now that he thought about it ....

They stood there starring at each other curiously for a few moments. His Majesty was trying to recall why such a pup would be wondering his halls, other than the obvious Club mark on his chest. He did not think he was aware of the Court members having any children running around - and it definitely was not one of his own.
Even as he closely analyzed the youngster with his own bout of curiosity, he found himself returning the canine's friendly smile. "Well hello there young pup," he greeted. From what he could read of the canine's body language he did not seem too timid that he would run away. And those wings, those alone made him want to find out who the young pup was not to mention who his parents were. Having an affinity for fire those wings of fire were just too cool.

As he stared at the human, scanning over his features, he returned his inquisitive gaze back to the man's face. He didn't seem angry or anything else negative in fact he seemed just as curious about him as he was of the man. That was a good sign, right? He wasn't going to be getting in trouble for breaking some rule he didn't even know about ... right? And when he spoke, well the puppy perked up even more .... he just loved people.
Hi! Who're you? My name's Casanova!
Encouraged, his tail began to wave a little faster and he moved toward the stranger with a prancey little walk. He was definitely far from shy and, well .... curiosity had gotten the better of him. His little nose started twitching again as he took in the mouse's scent, yup .... definitely one of the ones he'd picked up before. So .... he lived here? That was pretty cool!

"Well it is a pleasure to meet you Casanova. My name is Aderlass." He replied with a wider grin. Casanova seemed like a wonderful name for the young pup. Seeing the canine make his way closer, in what could only be called a prance, he hooked his cane on his other arm before holding out his hand, allowing the canine the chance to sniff and better catch his scent.
Tilting his head to the side slightly he let curiosity take over. "So, wot is a pup like you doing wondering around in these halls?" His tone would be friendly and would show that it was simply a question of curiosity.
To the mouse it did not seem like such a place as these halls would be of any entertainment interest to anyone, then again Silas seemed to find enough to amuse him on a daily basis.

It's very nice to meet you as well Aderlass.
The first thing his mother had made sure of was that he and his siblings knew their manners and, at the very least, practiced them when he was around ... but Nova preferred to use them all the time. He'd noticed that most people were rather happy to come across a child with manners and, well, it distracted them just a bit from the brown and purple patches of fur on his coat.
His ears came forward even more as a hand was presented to him, his eyes following it as he bit back the urge to nip those tasty looking fingers ... most strangers didn't seem to like that after all. He did, however, flick out his red-orange tongue and lick the man's palm before wrinkling his nose a bit ... gloves just didn't taste good. Oh but he was talking again!
He peered back up at the human's face and his ears flipped back halfway as he suddenly dipped his head a bit and eyed the otherwise empty hallway suspiciously, dropping his voice to something just above a whisper.
Well ... I was practicing some of the things momma taught me and followed papa here ..... he still doesn't know I'm here ... and I wanted to explore a bit before I found him.
By the end of his explanation he was almost back to his regular volume and a mischievous little grin replaced the friendly one he'd worn previously.

He was amused by the canine's inquisitive lick and facial reaction. Trying his best to hide his amused reaction he continued on as if nothing had happened.
When the canine answered his question in a hushed tone he leaned forward to listen, acting as if the canine was imparting a great secret to him. Practicing some of the things his momma had taught him? What kind of some things were those?
So that made his papa one of his Court members? A figure came to mind but he waved it off. If he had any kids surely he would know about it. Then again considering what his job had been before maybe not.
"Do you need any helping trying to find your papa?" He asked, wondering if he should leave the canine to his wondering about - he did not seem to be hurting anything - or offer his help in finding his papa. There was only a small level of wanting to satisfy his own curiosity playing into it.

A light little chuckle escaped his maw ... this was a fun person! He was playing along and it made everything more enjoyable. And he was now, essentially, offering up his presence while he hunted down his papa to and that pleased him as well, it'd be far more fun with someone to talk to ... especially if anything interesting was located in the other halls that he wanted to question.
If you wanted to ... sure! I think you're about as interesting as this hallway is gonna get. He went this way!
And that bright grin was back on his face as he turned and started at a trot for the hall he'd seen the wolf go down, wiggling his wings in excitement and sending little wisps of flame off of them. He turned the corner, completely certain that the human would be following. After all he wouldn't have made a fake offer, would he? Of course not ... that was just absurd! And then another little thought crept into his mind .... he still didn't what this building was, did he? He peered up at Aderlass with a somewhat sheepish expression, his head tilted to the side ever so slightly.
What exactly is this place, anyhow?

So the pup already knew which direction his papa had gone? Well that was a little odd. Giving a little shrug and tossing it up to kid logic he followed after the kid. They received some strange, though not out right obvious, looks from those who were also in the hallway.
Looking down at the canine at his next question he lofted an eyebrow. This was a very interesting pup. He knew who his father was and over all did not seem too lost but he did not know where he was. Man this was an interesting pup.
"Well, to answer your question, you currently happen to be in the Club Court palace." He hoped that the kid would at least be able to grasp the significance of that aspect, especially being a small Club himself. He was starting to the impression that it was not just kid naivety that led the canine to not know just who he was. Very interesting indeed.
