As soon as the door was open a very excited 9 year old Solandrian puppy burst through the door and began exploring this new place. He was going to Midori beach with a friend Rhi made and there was a beach which meant the ocean and--! He really had no concept of what any of it meant, he was just excited because he was going to find out. But Mommy and Daddy said that place was really hot. Hotter than the Court in Summer! He remembered clearly and hated that season with a passion. The absolute misery it caused him... it even made Lani pity him a little. But then Mommy said she knew a man who might be able to make it better for him! He was also excited to meet this amazing man who could make the weather not so hot! "Hadrian!" Called out a somewhat frustrated female voice when the Club puppy decided to start rolling in the layer of dust on the ground. She ran over and scooped him up into her arms, "Don't do that, it's dirty," she whispered to him. She proceeded to continue wrestling with her son who was far too strong for his age and size (which was quickly increasing) while the other two members of her family caught up. She didn't even have a chance to look for the man she came here for.

Mr. Todd raised his head with a snap as the bells over the door jingled wildly and then the door itself slammed. A burst of noise followed as two voices rang through the shoppe. "Wha' f'eh heww is tha'?" He muttered to himself, quickly stowing a picture in his bedside table drawer and wincing as his back cracked. "God al'migh'y, wha' did I do t' deserve this today?"He stepped out into the main shoppe, the thin door at the back opening quickly and shutting again with minimal noise. He wrinkled his nose in curiosity and mild revulsion at the puppy rolling about on his floor...then his eyes snapped to the woman bending over him. "I..I remember you." He said in mild confusion. "Wha' are you doin' 'ere, miss?"He watched her handling the puppy again and raised an eyebrow...ah...the monster was hers was it?

Her woman managed a smile in between the frowning at her son.
"I'm surprised, it's been years," she commented, "DAMMIT, Hadrian! Will you just calm down?!" she barked at him, staring him down. Immediately he stopped wiggling, ears flat against his head and tail tucked as far as it would go. Calmly, he gave her a lick on her jaw. She turned her attention back to the man, smiling as if nothing had happened.
"This terror is my son, Hadrian. I was quite impressed with the work you did on my last visit, so I was hoping you could help him out. He and his sister are taking a trip to Midori beach, but I don't much like the thought of him dying or suffering. The summers are hard enough on him. I was wondering if there was anything you could do for him?" The boy began wiggling again. She looked down at him with a warning glare, "If I let you down do you promise to behave?"
"Yes!" he yipped, padding her chest with his paws and tail wagging furiously. She nipped the top of his nose gently with her fanged teeth as a reminder and let him down. He looked up at the man, wagging his tail.
"The father is coming in with my daughter. She's requested something similar to what you did for me when I came in," Hadrian trotted right up to the man and sniffed his pants legs vigorously. Heilyn cleared her throat loudly. He backed up, still trying to sniff at the man as he put some space in between them. She gave the man an apologetic look.
"I can assure you the girl is much better behaved. Hadrian, let me talk to the man for a bit, go find Daddy," she reached down, steered his head toward the door and gave him a pat on the butt as she spoke to him. The boy tore out of the store in a blur of brown and blue.
"DADDEE!" he called as he raced back to meet up with his father. Heilyn shook her head and sighed as she watched him race out of the store. When was he going to grow out of this? Gods knew she did everything she knew to discipline him without destroying his self esteem even more than the court already did.

"Righ' wha'ever, miss. I'll jus' get a few fings set up while we wait on 'em. 'Ow's everyfing been workin' out fer you, eh?"
He asked, moving over to his thick wooden table and pulling out three small pots and two combs that Heilyn would remember quite well. Next, a pair of scissors came to light, one with what looked like a spiked comb on the end, the other with extremely thin blades. He twirled them lightly and set them down, then turned to the woman again.
"Jus' like las' time, I'll be needin' payment before I continue, miss." The smile on his face was unmistakably smug, he hoped this woman had not bee dulled by bearing children like it did to so many.

Rhiannon had never been to this end of the Capital, and it took every ounce of Seth's patience to accept that. The girl was sniffing at every little thing, and it wasn't long at all before the pair had fallen almost completely behind Hadrian and Heilyn. She's just a girl, the man assured himself once more as his daughter circled a pole, tail wagging eagerly at whatever-it-was that she smelled there. All the same, the rewards from this trip would be worth it once they arrived at their destination. Rhiannon was terribly excited about losing the stench of her homeland, and so was her father. When Hadrian galloped towards them, Seth gave his son a wide smile and waved him back to the store. " Don't worry! We're on our way.[/b]" Rhiannon grinned at her father beneath the mask she wore as she trotted ahead, interest recaptured again. She nudged her brother softly, tail wagging with excitement as they neared the building she'd seen mother and brother slip into moments before. " C'mon, Hady!" she said as she nipped at her ear. " You've gotta calm down or else mom'll be mad at us both." Seth stood beside the two children as he opened the door, smiling first at Heilyn and then offering the canine that stood there as well a polite nod. " Sorry we're late.[/b]"

"You need to name your price first, sir," she responded, throwing him an equally smug expression. Right snarky bastard. Gods, those pretty blue eyes. Too bad he kept the place so filthy. She would've jumped his bones on their first meeting had the place been cleaner. Ah well. Too late for any of that now.
"It's been going quite well, actually. I have to express my gratitude for your handiwork. It's held up throughout all these years. And I can assure the father of my children was quite grateful for it, as well," she smirked. Ah yes. She remembered his reaction when she returned to him smelling like a Coyote rather than a bag of fetid swamp water. "I really do apologize for the boy. I'll make him sit sit when you're working on him. He just tend to get a little over excited when I take him out of the Court..." For all his annoying antics, she did pity him.
He ran in a circle and nipped her back and whined. There was too much to see, and when people looked at his chest out here, there was less frowning! In fact, some people liked it a lot! He didn't understand why so many got confused when they looked between him and Mommy, though. He came back with his father, bouncing on his front legs. He was panting heavily, though. Seeing her opportunity, Heilyn acted, giving Seth a nod.
"Hadrian! Play time! Try to jump up and kiss mommy on the cheek!" the boy needed no more encouragement. In rather impressive leaps, one right after the other, the boy sprang up from the floor, stretching his little blue tongue out to his target. She, however, kept herself out of reach every time. The bouncing height decreased after a bit, ending with him slumping on the floor, panting very heavily from the heat. She bent down to pick him up and bring him over to Mr Todd. As she carried him, he licked her cheek and gently wagged his tail.
"Oho, look at that, you just out witted Mommy," she said with a smug expression. She turned to the man, the expression not fading. "Here he is, sir. Where would you like me to put him" The boy slumped in the chair, tongue hanging out, not wanting to move any more.
"Oh! Seth, I almost forgot. This is Mr. Todd. He's the one that made me smell tolerable to your wussy Outsider nose," she was only teasing, but she knew the appreciation of what he did for them would make him overlook any offense.
(sorry this is horrendously long. I just had to get the "game" in there. XD )

Mr. Todd lifted his brows lightly as the small bell over the door rang again and the little girl came in. Odd look to her, that one. Mostly like her mother but with somehting else mixed in....what was it? He almost shrugged it off when the Human behemoth entered behind her. He couldn't help the double take. He'd only ever seen one other man who looked anything like this hulking monster, and that had been an Avington Highland mix of a Dog by the name of Gaston...he would never forgive that freak for calling him lad...
He gave the larger man a way look, but returned the nod, turning to watch the woman play with her son, a smile tugging the corners f his mouth.
"Le's do you while you're all tired out, eh?" He asked the lad, motioning for Heilyn to pick him up and place him on the cracked leather seat of his barber's chair.
"It'll be the usual amount, jus' look at my lists."
After taking the money, he turned back to the panting Coyote on his chair. "Well, lookit you, eh? Overheatin'? No wonder, lookit that fur for god's sake, 's like you're wearin' three of you..."
He smoothed down the fur of the boy's shoulder and tapped with his claw, feeling for depth. "I'll jus' take out two layers of undercoat, arigh', miss?" He asked, even as he picked up the notched scissors. They were carefully razored so that they would comb through top layers. They were normally meant for manes, but they should be able to get through this with only a little trouble...though he'd really have to sharpen them later.
He felt unnerved by the presence of the large man in the room, but tried to ignore the chills he was getting...the man reminded him of someone else too. His eyes glazed for a moment and he paused, throwing anther cursory glance at him. He then quickly returned to his work. "So the, m'boy, what's your name?"

(HEE Gaston! x3 He just spreads joy everywhere he goes, doesn't he?
Also, this counts as a trim for Hadrian, right?)
As she put the heavy little boy down, she couldn't help but smirk at his reaction to Seth.
"Stay still. That stuff is sharp, and you'll get hurt." she instructed him with a touch on the top of the nose. The overheated boy gave a slow nod and looked at the instrument the man was holding. He didn't like the look of it, but it must be safe if Mommy wasn't hovering protectively over him. She then went over to read the list. She remembered the price for herself, which would probably not be on the list. She gave the man the money. She then gave Seth a peck on the cheek, "Glad to see you made it," she said quietly to him. She nodded back at him. Two layers of undercoat sounded just fine for going to Midori.
"You'll be next, Rhi," she said softly to her daughter, toning down her aura as much as she possibly could for the lower-ranking girl.
Hadrian's tail gave a feeble wag the the man spoke to him. He liked this guy.
"I have my daddy's coat," he informed the Wolf, "My name is Hadrian. What's your name? Mommy told me, but I forgot it." Oh, the honesty of children.

(Gaston spreads lots of things everywhere X3 His songs, his trophies, his stories, his legs...)
”’Adrian, eh? Nice name, keep still now, don’t want t’ take your nose off now.” He carefully ran the scissors around the young pup’s jaw line and then down this throat, taking care to use one hand to cup the boy’s chin, just in case he couldn’t stop himself from moving. Once the boy got the hint though, the task was fairly simple, he ran the edged scissors carefully and skillfully through the coat as though he were only combing the boy, he was grateful that the kid was a Canine, he knew the anatomy as well as his own, not like when those damn Ferrets and Weasels wanted a trim. ”My name? I’m Mr. Todd, young ‘Adrian, s’ good to meet you. M’ sure you’re quite the man, if I’m any judge of your mother.” He threw a quick, laughing glance toward the Bog woman. It surprised him that the Heart would lie down with something that would produce a Club, even more surprised that she had kept it. He felt, if possible, even more respect for the woman now, though hell if he was going to let on. Once he’d finished, he grabbed a thin, silver comb and dunked it into a jar of clear liquid that smelled a little bit like Vaseline. He then ran this delicately through the top coat three times, mumbling lightly all the while. There! That would keep the underlayers from growing back. ”Righ’ tha’s it for you. Go on down and shake, arigh’?” He muttered, glancing over again in the direction of the large Human man. ”Let’s have at your sister.”

(Oh, he spreads all that among other things. XD )
Heilyn gave Seth a pat on the stomach.
"I'm going to go make sure our boy genius doesn't get himself hurt," she whispered to him and walked over to the chair. She absolutely made sure to stay out of the man's way. She just needed to be close enough to catch the signs that he was going to wiggle or try to be playful or anything else that would get him injured and stop him before that happened.
Hadrian's tail began to wag more freely as the man touched him more. He liked attention! And this man was friendly, maybe he wanted to play later, too! He started giving off the signs that he was about to do something that involved a lot of moving. Luckily, his mother was in his line of sight at the moment and all she had to do was stare him down and shake her head. He made a rather annoyed noise, but stayed still until the man was done. Heilyn very much admired his skill and wondered why someone with that skill was in a dump like this. Damn, he's good with his hands. I really missed out with this one, didn't I? she sighed, dragging a finger along the table next to her, leaving a trail of clean in the filth.
"My mom...?" he asked, slightly confused, "Daddy says I should be a man like him, but I guess I could a man like Mommy, too." Heilyn snorted an laughed into her hand.
Hadrian shook off as requested, the loosened fur flew off him in a rather impressive cascade of soft fluff then leaped off the chair, causing it to spin. He ran right up to Heilyn wagging his tail. She knelt down to him and gave him a kiss and grabbed him by the snout a bit roughly.
"You're lucky that chair missed him. Let's try to be more careful?" she chastised him. He looked back to see the chair slowing. He yipped a quick 'sorry, mister' as soon as Heilyn let him go. Then he ran over to Rhiannon and jumped at her, tail wagging like mad.
"It's your turn, Rhi!"
Heilyn sighed as she watched him. She was really going to miss those glorious minutes he stood still because he was overheated.
