He found himself wandering the streets of the Capitol again, but he wasn't here because he'd gotten into trouble or accidentally set seething on fire, no today he was here for some fun, or to meet someone interesting to talk to. Momma was busy with his roses, Brokat was talking about something utterly boring with Ilana and well .... Vesper was Vesper and he'd rather not include her on his excursions, he was, after all, looking to have fun. His sister had a tendency to suck any and all bits of fun out of things for him. But he wasn't going to think about her, in fact he wasn't really thinking about anything as he trotted his way down the side walk, flame colored tail waving idly from side to side as he did. A rather chipper grin was plastered on his muzzle and he greeted anyone who bothered to look at him with a courteous dip of his head. He did get a few dirty looks though, but he ignored them, so what if he was part lowlander? He didn't really want to socialize with that kind of crowd anyhow, not with the family he had ...

A book clasped in her muzzle she made her way out of the library and onto one of the many streets in the Capital. She had just borrowed a book as had every intention of finding somewhere quiet that she could go read, especially somewhere where she would not be disturbed. The Park would not somewhere quiet enough. While she enjoyed the fresh air and plants - some of her mother's love had been passed onto her - she just did not want to deal with the strange looks that she tended to get. Well . . . that limited a lot of places. Well, almost anywhere. There was one cafe and bakery that she could go to. Un Arret Cafe and Bakery. It was near by and her mom was friends with the owners and workers. Deciding that was the best option for now she headed that way.

He had no real goal in mind this afternoon and he was starting to believe that was a rather bad idea. Everyone seemed to busy to spend any time talking to a brightly colored, flame winged puppy which struck him as terribly odd, he normally attracted attention rather easily. He flicked one red lined ear back for a moment, but continued on with the same casual happiness as before, grouchiness never attracted anyone fun after all.
That ear came forward rather quickly when he did spot someone that looked terribly interesting. He paused for a moment, tail ceasing it's almost perpetual side to side movements as well as he watched the girl for a moment before making the decision to go and speak to her. Besides she seemed about the same age as him so .... she just had to be as interesting as she looked!
He set his limbs into motion and made quick work of the distance between them and when he got within a few feet he slowed down to a little prance and arched his tail over his back before it started to sway back and forth once more. He stopped about a foot from her and tilted his head to the side, his grin broadening a bit.
Hi!

She had been making her way easily down the street, people gave her stares especially when they noticed that her hind quarters seemed to be evanescent and the vine of thorns that grew around her body.
Well that was until someone came to a stop some distance from her. Hearing their greeting she thought for a moment that they had to be talking to someone else. Surely, they were talking to someone else. She shifted her weight to bring one paw up to point at herself in question. At his reaction she realized that he had indeed been addressing her.
Leaning her head down but not taking her eyes off of him she placed the book she held in her mouth on the cobblestones.
"Hi," she replied hesitantly not sure what to make of the situation. He seemed like a nice enough person, though she did not know anything about him. With practiced ease, she kept her chest where her rank and suit would have been out of his line of sight.

Seeing that she had come to a halt as well he moved closer, but still kept a little bit of distance between them. He'd finally learned that people generally had a little bubble of a comfort zone and that it was rather rude to just ... invade it. He continued to swish his tail in a friendly manner as he waited for a response and when he finally got one that tail of his picked up it's swishy pace. He picked up a paw and held it out to her as he went ahead and got formalities out of the way.
I'm Casanova ... but you can call me Nova ... or Cas... or well ... something else if you think of something neat. Who're you?
Her strangeness didn't bother him in the least. One of his aunt's was a butterfly, he'd met a canine cross with the longest fingers he'd ever seen and he'd also met a puppy cross with ectoplasm rolling off him she was, actually ... fairly normal in his book and his bright orange eyes didn't linger on anything for long, except her face of course. Eye contact was a good thing, right?

She was a little confused by him, not really used to people just approaching her - at least not without the intent of questioning her difference - but she gave him a small smile anyway. "It . . . is nice to meet you Casanova . . . Cas?" She replied, holding out one of her own paws in return. At least he was being very polite.
It took her a moment - mostly out of confusion - to realize that she should probably return the favor. "Oh sorry! My name is Khloris." She responded. There were not really any nicknames to add to the list.
"So . . . um . . . wot are you doing?" She asked trying to think of something to talk about.
He really was an interesting looking person, his colors looked quiet nice together. It was apparent that he was of some sort of lowlander mix but she could not really see any rot on him. His fire wings though, those reminded him of the mane that his cousin had.

He placed his paw in hers and gave it a good paw shake, his tail waving pleasantly behind him all the while. His ears moved fully forward as he waited for her own name and he wondered briefly if she didn't meet many people or maybe she was just shy like his brother?
It's nice to meet you too Khloris!
He couldn't help but bounce side to side on his paws in excitement, he truly loved meeting new people and she said nothing about his brown fur so that made her a perfectly acceptable person in his opinion. He didn't really understand what was so wrong with it to begin with, even if momma had tried to explain.
Actually ... I'm trying to find something to do ... or someone nice to talk to.
There was a bit of hopefulness added to the last half of that sentence, especially since he'd finally noticed the book she had with her. He wouldn't want to ruin her afternoon plans after all, he was raised better then that.

After the quick paw shake she took hers back, resting it on the book in front of her.
"Oh, well . . . if you are interested . . . I was on my way to a cafe just down the street. I . . I do not think I would mind any company . . . Should you be interested."
She still was not sure what to think or how to handle this situation. Not many other people had taken so easily and uncaring to the fact that she was not really fully there in appearance. It seemed to be the trend of freaking out instead.
She did not think she had any problem with the mix accompanying her, then again she did not really know him so she also would not be certified to make a decision like that. He was welcome to come along though. After all, it did not hurt to try and make a new friend, right?

He let her take her paw away first before he placed his own back on the ground as well. He tilted his head to the side, ears forward and fixed upon her as he listened to her speak. She did talk a little like his brother did, a bit more confident but he could definitely detect a bit of shyness, or something like it. Because, really ... how could you only think you wouldn't mind company? He didn't mind though, and his tail never missed a swish.
Ooooh ... a cafe? Well, if you wouldn't mind I'd love to join you!
He straightened himself back up quickly and pranced in place before stepping to the side and offering her the lead with first a gesture of a paw, and then words.
Lead the way!
After all ... there were many cafe's in the capitol and she seemed to have one in mind so .... it was just logical that she lead. He was just happy enough to have a bit of company for the afternoon, or at least part of it.

She gave him a shy smile. There was no real way that she could say no to him not coming along. Oh well, it probably would not do her any harm to have him along. Her older sister Eurwen was always saying that she should make more friends.
At his motioning for her to lead the way she did so with nod. Picking up the book back up with her mouth, a fling of her head showed that he was suppose to follow.
It did not take long for them to reach the cafe. Outwards it was not any different then any other cafe that lined the streets of the Capital, but on the inside that was where all the difference was. Her grandmother was good friends with the owner. Looking over to the counter she was a little disappointed to see that Asha was not there.
Walking over to one of the empty tables she climbed onto one of the seats then placed the book on the table. He would be able to chose from any of the remaining seats.
