Still smiling broadly he followed her, reassuming his rather prancey little walk as he did. He was a naturally happy boy but that happiness only increased when he was around either the people he loved or if he happened across a nice stranger. And so far she hadn't said or done anything to make him believe she was anything but nice, even if she did remind him just a bit of his brother ... but that was minimal.
His ears perked fully forward when she turned and made a move to enter the cafe and he took a moment to peer up and get the name and general appearance of the building in case he wanted to return here, he always forgot to check when he left places as he was generally to full or distracted to really care anymore.
When they were inside and she seated herself he hopped up onto a seat across from her and flashed her a smile, his tail thumping against one of the chair legs.
So Khloris ... you come here often, yeah? Any suggestions?
Maybe he could get her to open up a wee bit with some idle chatter about something she was interested in? In fact ... maybe he could get a few more ideas on what to bring up by asking her something like that ... he really didn't know a thing about her except that she was unique ... and a little shy.

She gave him a friend yet still shy smile as he took a seat at the table. "My grandma and mama know the owner." She answered with a small shrug. It was also one of the closer cafes to where she lived and thus the easiest to get too. She had been coming here since she could remember so it never really occurred to her to go anywhere else.
At his request for a suggestion on drinks she titled her head to the side as she pondered. After a few moments she tilted it to the other side as she replied, "the almond latte is pretty good and chocolate raspberry mocha is the best one around. Either of those with a croissant makes the best combination." She gave a nod of her head as she finished.
She figured that she would get the Vanilla-Carmel latte this time. That sounded simply lovely.

He continued to thump his tail cheerfully against the leg of the chair as he watched her with a goofy little grin resting on his muzzle. He couldn't help but wrinkle his nose ever so slightly at her first suggestion. Almond, that just seemed terribly disgusting but her second suggestion, well that got him to brighten up considerably and also got his tail to wiggle all the more.
Now that sounds tasty, that chocolate raspberry.
He definitely did have a sweet tooth that rivaled his mother's and that just tickled it and he flipped out his red-orange tongue and licked his muzzle to further express his interest. However it seemed he'd have to poke a bit more to get her to really do much talking and he really didn't mind ... his brother told him he had a hard time shutting up any how.
So do you live here in the Capitol all the time or ... so you travel? I've always wanted to travel.
His ears perked forward more hoping to hear a tale from a faraway land or something like that even though the more logical half of his brain was telling him not to get his hopes up to high because that seemed like a long shot possibility. But he just couldn't help but hope, momma had fun stories from other realms so .... why not the girl across from him?

"Alright, I will go order and you wait here." She headed off towards the counter. Placing the order for the two of them she headed back towards they were sitting. Reclaiming her seat she explained, "They will bring our drinks here once they are made." The system here was a little different than most cafe's but it worked well enough if not a little better.
"I have only lived here in the Capital with my mama and papa, and my three siblings, Acantha, Eurwen, and . Though," she added, "Mama says that she is going to take us to see our Grandpa soon though. He comes and visits us every now and then." She added, not wanting it to seem like their grandpa did not love them. He loved them dearly, however his job was a very important one so it kept him very busy.
She was filled with excitement over the coming trip!

He nodded when she announced that she was going to go place the order and used the little moment to peer around at the cafe. Triangular ears remained forward as he scanned the room, taking in every little thing about it ... it wasn't to bad really ... he didn't like excessively fancy things. Not that he really saw such things that often but ... he much preferred cozy to elaborate any day. It didn't take her long to return, and when she did his moved his gaze back.
I've only been to Corvistowne to visit my grandparents ... but my siblings and I aren't aloud to go anywhere there ... not like there's really anything interesting there anyhow ...
He tilted his head to the side like any inquisitive canine would, ears fully forward, and swished his tail a bit more.
Where does your grandpa live?

He had been to Corvistowne? That was really cool! Maybe one day she would be able to make it out there too, one day in the future.
"He lives at the Club Palace" She replied to his question, pride in her voice. She thought it was absolutely nifty that her grandfather lived in a Palace. Well both of her her grandfathers' did really. Leaning forward she lowered her tone, as if she was going to impart some great secret to him. "He is the Queen of Clubs"
Sitting back she smiled friendly at him. Her mama and papa had told her how important it was that she remember she was just the same as everyone else . . . well that was except for the little Joker deal she had going on. She would never be 'normal' due to it but it did not really make her any different when it came down to things.

His ears perked a bit at the mention of the Clubs palace ... he lived there? He completely forgot about that trip since it wasn't a region and he'd pretty well slept the whole way there ... and the whole way back. In fact ... he'd also completely forgotten about the trip to the Heart Palace as well, oops.
When she leaned forward he did as well, enjoying this little game of secrets, or faux secrets really, and giving her his undivided, but wiggly attention. His tail stilled until she said who her grandfather was ... well, didn't that make this world rather small? He remembered that particular card but ... he was that old? Huh, next time he saw the Queen he'd have to give him a closer inspection cause this was now, officially ... kinda weird. But it wasn't weird enough to detour him at all. It was surprising to ... enough for him to leave the Queen's proper title off again.
Aderlass? Really? You're not joking ... right?
He didn't think she was, but you never knew really. He tilted his head to the side, ears forward ... the perfect picture of canine inquisitiveness.

Khloris gave him a bright smile, her own evanescent tail waving back and forth happily as she spoke. "Yep! That's him. Aderlass, Queen of the Clubs is my grandfather." She gave a bright smile more than pleased with herself and her family relations. "Of course I do not call him by that full title, I simply call him Grandfather. Have you met him?" She asked, still leaning forward.
She was curious to see if he personally knew her grandfather, as well, after all he had guessed who it was on the first try. Maybe his family worked in the Court as well? She thought to herself, or maybe he had just visited it as a boy? Either seemed likely enough to be true.
Then again she was pretty sure that everyone who was anyone knew the name of the Queen of Clubs, the idea that someone would not was simply beyond her.

Well, that certainly perked her up! The grin on his muzzle broadened a bit more as the speed of his tail wags increased ... what a coincidence it was to run into a relative of The Queen! He'd definitely have to share this one with papa ... he was certain that the other canine would get at least a small amount of amusement out of it.
I have, actually. It was kind of an accident though ... but your grandfather is fun.
Almost as fun as Anatolius, but his opinion was a little biased there ... he'd placed the wolf on a pedestal a long time ago and, well ... that was one of his own relatives, so it'd be rather hard to top.
He gave the girl a mildly mischievous grin as he leaned in a bit more, might as well share why he'd come across her grandfather ... she'd probably ask anyhow.
Actually ... my papa is one of his Kings.

She gave the canine a happy smile when he replied that he had met her grandfather before. She adored her grandfather and was sorry that other people could not have the cool grandfather that she had.
"What kind of accident?" She asked curious to know the situation that had introduced the two of them. Boys were always getting into trouble, were they not? She was not too sure on that. After all her one brother was blind and he seemed to only get in trouble cause his sister convinced him to do things first.
"One of his Kings? Your Papa must be really powerful." She gave a nod of her head to back up this childlike proclamation. "Wot is your Papa like?" She asked, not wanting to take up the whole of the conversation. That was rude and she had been taught better.
