Rhiannon's growl was soft, a challenge of sorts, and her wings unfolded slightly at her sides. The bright yellow membrane that stretched between the fine bones of her fingers let some sunlight through, casting a golden glow on the ground below him. Her ears panned back for a moment, then stood tall, her tail held rigidly behind her, the purple tip oddly still. She looked dead serious when she leaned forward, yellow eyes locked straight onto Casanova's red. The words were spoken softly, echoing the same challenge as her growl before, only cementing the goal she was putting before the younger canine.
"Prove it.[/b]"
She didn't wait for him to reply before she leapt tremendously, a flap of her outstretched wings sending her careening over the top of the fire-toned puppy. She landed a foot or so behind him, tongue lolling carelessly out of her mouth as she began to run with an easy, loping motion. She wouldn't run as fast as she could, as her long coyote-legs would almost certainly make it impossible for the pup to catch her if she did, but she would make him work for the privilege of catching her.

He was momentarily distracted when her wings were unfurled, he'd never seen ones like that before, not full sized at least. Momma's wings were large, but they were also entirely feathered, papa's were like hers but ... tiny and not impressive ... not like that. His tail ceased it's side to side motions as orange eyes widened as he looked a them ... now that were cool! He was actually so fixated on her wings that the soft spoken challenge she issued startled him a bit, causing him to jump ever so slightly and raise his hackles a bit.
He was going to reply but then she... took off and he ducked down as if she were going to pounce him, but that would have been foolish, what with his flame wings and all. Oh! She wanted him to chase her! It finally dunk in and he rose up onto all fours once more and whirled around, putting all four limbs into motion to give chase. He only hoped that he wouldn't trip over his own paws or something like that ... that would be truly embarrassing.

Running was one of the joys that her mother had taught her so many years ago, one of the things that for a long time, the girl had felt she was too good for - it fell alongside rolling in the grass in terms of what a noble child should do.
That was to say, she should do it all the time - as long as no one was watching.
Running like this was the perfect freedom. Rhiannon's feet hit the ground with a steady rhythym, and she didn't stop to check that Casanova was following her - if he wasn't, she'd go back to find him, for now she just wanted to run. She reached the edge of the gardens and blew into the park that lay at their borders, slowing her pace when her feet hit the grass. A wide smile covered her face as she slowed, turning to see the smaller canine growing closer.
"Casanova, look,[/b]" she called out, turning her snout back to the expanse of grass. "The sun's setting...[/b]" And it was. It was a beautiful sunset, the few patchy clouds that filled the sky floating by lazily and catching the flames of the sky.

Running was terribly delightful, wasn't it? For him it was the feel of a self made breeze whipping the heat that clung to his form back and away, giving him a moment of cool serenity as he let his paws and limbs carry him to nowhere in particular. When he actually thought about it running made him wish his wings worked like how Rhiannon's probably did ... he could get short distances no more then five feet off the ground with his but to actually fly? That had to be amazing.
As he continued forward little wisps of flame detached themselves from the main body of his wings, burning just as bright for a moment before flickering out of existence. His red-orange tongue lolled out of the side of his mouth as his eyes lidded themselves halfway, making him look rather content. That was until he heard his name of course and snapped out of his little trance. It was a mere moment after he sucked his tongue back into his muzzle when youth's awkwardness decided to have a go at him and he ... tripped over his big feet.
A little yelp of surprise leapt from his maw as he lost his footing and gracelessly fell face first in the dirt. Damn puppy paws.

The woman stared into the setting sun for a long minute, waiting for the boy to make up for lost ground and catch up with her. She swung her head back towards him, ears held erect, and grinned at the sight of him. He looked so utterly gleeful just to be running, but then she knew that very feeling all too well. When he snapped his attention to her she smiled widely at him, her tail giving a small little wag, and then he faceplanted just a few yards from where she was standing.
Oops. Puppy feet be damned, she knew that particular curse all too well from when she'd been younger. She had grown into her feet years ago, but she still could remember the taste of dirt and the sting of embarassment.
"They're quite annoying, aren't they?[/b]" she said, raising one foot and waving it slightly. She'd had the advantage of her wings as added balance when she'd been running, but she'd seen her brother smash into the ground time and time again when she had finally grown out of it. Her tail wagged slightly. "But you know, the bigger they are, the bigger you'll get to be. My brother had paws like plates, and he's massive now.[/b]" she lifted her paw above her head, clearly demonstrating her brother's height.

He sighed and adjusted himself, playing all his limbs out and letting his tail flop against the ground. He'd managed not to hurt himself this time around but it was still immensely frustrating. He always did stuff like this, or something equally embarrassing and sill like running into doors and other things, or misjudging a jump and .... not quite making it. His ears flopped to the side as he stared at the ground until he heard paws coming toward him ... she'd seen, hadn't she?
He turned his gaze up toward her face, a blush that his yellow fur didn't quite hide painting his cheeks. Oh but ... she wasn't laughing at him or teasing him? That was new... and when she wiggled a paw at him his ears came forward once more and he finally understood. So this really was a canine thing like papa told him? Well ... that made him feel quite a bit better, having that little fact confirmed.
He had a little grin on his face again and his tail started to wag once more as well.
My brother and sister are both bigger then me ... but they don't have the same kinda feet well ... not all four of them.
And he was babbling again ... but he didn't quite care this time around.

The woman listened as the boy babbled, a good-natured smile slowly spreading across her face as she did. He really was an energetic one, wasn't he? In a way, she was reminded of her brother by more than just the lad's oversized feet - his energy carried the same contagious sense of fun that Hadrian's had when he had been younger. Even though her brother was older and calmer now, she could only imagine what would happen if the pair were to meet.
She grinned slightly at the thought, but quickly reminded herself of the issue at hand.
"It's getting rather late, Nova.[/b]" she said softly, looking down at the boy but giving her a reassuring wag of her tail. "I'm to head back to the Court tomorrow morning, and I'd very much like it if you would accompany me there.[/b]" she said with a small nod. If the boy was her guest, there wouldn't be a problem with his being there. He could stay for a day or so and see the roses, and then Rhiannon would return him to his mother.
"I'll need to speak to your mother, of course.[/b]"

When he heard her first statement his tail stilled and a little pout slipped onto his muzzle ... he didn't want to go home, which is certainly what he thought she was implying. her second statement didn't help either, until he replayed it in his head, which caused him to blink several times in rapid succession and tilt his head to the side ever so slightly as he peered up at her. this got his tail thumping again ... so she did want him to come with her after all! That was terribly exciting and the disappointment of a mere moment ago was completely forgotten ... he really wouldn't mind going home for that.
I can take you there ... Momma lives in the capitol! I can show you his roses too.
He wasn't sure how much she'd like his momma's roses if she lived in the palace of hearts but, well ... he wouldn't mind sharing them since he knew she liked them, after all that had been how he'd stumbled across her initially. As the new wave of excitement coursed through his veins he got back up onto his paws and shook out his fur, grinning broadly.

The boy's excitement brought a smile to Rhiannon's long muzzle. This would be an interesting trip, and she knew that the current Queen was on much better terms with the Clubs than was Serafino. If the Highlander had still been in power, she wouldn't have even considered bringing the boy along. It would have been a terrible disaster.
In her mind, the weapon sneered. "Love, don't you understand?[/i]" there was a bitter hatred in his words, even as he tried to keep his tone soft. "His Majesty Serafino understood true Heart pride. You shouldn't associate with Clubs, even those that are family.[/i]"
His words were troubling. Mostly because part of her could see the truth in them. All the same, she wanted to do something nice for the sweet little boy, and she knew that he would have an amazing time. Perhaps it would even inspire him to work hard to better his own suit. She'd do what she could to justify it, but she inwardly promised to the weapon that she'd never put him or herself into a position like this one again. She pushed the thought out of her mind again. It'd be okay this one.
"Lead the way![/b]" She said cheerfully, tail wagging.

Those three words were all he needed before he he turned and set all of his limbs into motion once more and, paws be damned, he intended on moving at a brisk pace. He kept up a cheerful stream of conversation the whole way there, not caring in the least if it was one sided, and managed to only stumble a couple times before he brought them to a tall, old looking fence covered in vines. Rhiannon was lucky enough to visit at a time when even they were in bloom and sported little yellow flowers. He moved slowly by the wooden fence, keeping enough distance not to set it alight, and paused at a certain section, moved a little closer, flipped some vines to the side and pressed on a board ... that part pushing in and unlocking the carefully concealed gate that opened just a touch. Tavor really didn't like having people that weren't supposed to be there lurking about his garden and it helped to have an adoptive relative that could give him such an ingenious way to keep people out. This way! He used a paw to open the gate and motioned for her to go on before him, ladies first and all, before he followed and hit a similar button on the inside to close and lock it again. Immediately inside the gate was a myriad of strange, colorful and pretty little flowers and because of this he slowed down his pace in case his guest wanted a closer look. The roses, just as varied as the other types of flowers, were closer to the house. When they finally arrived at the door he used the lower knocker, specifically placed for he and his siblings ... or animals forms if there were any guests he supposed, and waited with a big, toothy grin to be let in. It wasn't long before a rather little bi-ped answered, worry crossing his expression as soon as he saw Rhi. He sighed lightly and peered at Nova for a moment before looking back at the canine mix with an apologetic little smile. There was only reason someone would be bringing the canine to his door, or, at least.... he thought there was only one reason; the boy had to be in trouble again. Greetings and .... do I even want to know what sort of... trouble he's in now? The knock had gotten another little soul's attention as well, but not as much as the words from their mother's mouth did. Cas was in trouble again? The triple breed, who was a good deal larger then he brother, slunk closer to the door to listen curious to see what sort of mischief his more outgoing sibling had been up to this time. That boy got into some entertaining messes when he went out alone ....
