It was good to hear that people in this area were so eager to help. Though really, he understood it was more for personal gain than anything, though he didn't understand how or why. It wasn't his thing, he wouldn't know how to do it anyway. But so long as he found someone nice who did, that would be wonderful. He only tilted his head at the mention of someone finding him sooner. Oh right! That was part of what he'd been warned against!
"That sounds so very pretty..." There was a breathy, dreamy quality to his voice as he stared off and tried to imagine it. Covered in roses... oh maybe he should get one of those to match her pretty roses? But not something so royal, no, he wasn't like a rose, he was like... something else. "It's nice to meet you Parsley. What does that mean? I um... I know a bit about people from here but.. um... what mec-han-ical things do you do?" He was trying to learn more about his apparently new owner, but his lack of knowledge meant he could only really get things explained to him.
He listened as they spoke about his fate, tail wagging at several points. Oh good, so the female still liked him and wanted to see him and protect him? Then he didn't do anything wrong! He smiled happily at her, she was probably better off without him, pretty girls didn't seem to normally like him much unless they were confused. And he had a feeling she'd been hoping he was a girl, but he wasn't. Speaking of that..
"Oh yes, I am a boy. It's why I can't go back home, but a lot of people think I'm a girl anyway." He seemed a bit puzzled at the last, even though he'd strived to be pretty so that he could survive a bit longer. Why did everyone like girls so much better? He'd seen many pretty boys in his time living around the capital. Anatolius was pretty, Parsley was pretty too. He just sat and wagged his tail, waiting for someone to direct him on where to go next. He knew that soon there would be an 'add' and someone would want to do things with his lack-of-ears, and that maybe he'd meet a pretty woman named Parsley who would want to make him pretty which would make her happy. So things were really looking much better than Sabien could have ever hoped for!

"Like I said before, Yarrow Deputy. You have no power here, and frankly I don't want you coming to kill me in my sleep." Parsley said as he turned to face the woman. His ears flattened down against his skull with annoyance. His voice wasn't raised, it was simply flat. If worse came to worse he would just use his necklace as a threat. "I don't know what makes you think that you're some godsend to Corvistowne, but when you're here you're to follow our laws and our rules. You haven't even properly introduced yourself and you want to know where I live? I am deeply offended. In the region where I grew up you would have been dead for such awful manners."
The squirrel took a deep breath. He wasn't in Tulgey anymore, so strangers weren't treated the same way. Frankly he enjoyed the policy of people being throw out or killed for being a different region. Of course he ran into some problems with that, but still.
"I don't have the right to lecture manners when I'm as amicable and socially skilled as a rock, but I refuse to tell someone I just met where I live." He said flatly turning back to Sabien.
He smiled at the canine. "Mechanical. It means that I work with machines and inorganic parts. I'll show you sometime after you're settled. I have a big house and you'll be staying for a while until Rosemary pops around. She's on a regional tour, weirdo she is, she's trying to visit every single region."
So. He was a boy. Just confused as a girl. Heh, funny how that worked. Maybe there was an unspoken law where pretty boys had the ability to find each other? Or something. Did Aces have tracking skills?
"Let's go to a coffee shop. I'm not leading this woman back to my house." Parsley said as he pointed in the direction of a small rickety looking shop not to far away. It was an off day apparently.

Inali stood their and took the brunt of the words. All she was trying to do was help the poor ace... and yet here he was attempting to make everything else worse, yet now... he was pulling the hair off her ears and had brought her temper.
"Look Here Corvy, You may not understand this but I do... That ACE should have been dead at birth, his mother should have strangled him when he was young, Yet for some reason she decided to let him live and be hunted for the rest of his life! I bet that neither one of you know the extent of your danger do you? It is Yarrow Custom that any male born would be eleminated... and here I am trying to help the two of you out, so I can steer away other Yarrows from that area."
she took a moment to cool herself down... yet that was... hard...
She looked away down the path that she had already came in by. It would probly serve them both right to leave them to their own devices and get killed...
"Having him around would only put Rosemarry, your beloved sister, and yourself in more danger than thought... but its not my problem any more... I tried to help him out..." She said with a tear or two running down her eye. She was getting memories mixed the precent again. She turned away quickly hoping that they wouldn't see a Yarrow in torment in such a way... it was just weak.
With one last look, compleatly cooled down and more down to earth than she would have liked to have been, being torn between protecting the Yarrow no matter where they are... and having one that was a compleat abomination before her... being a male... yet Yarrow was just tearing her up inside with confliting emotions...
"I'm Inali by the way... I'll be in town for a bit longer..."
With that she starts to walk away.

"I think you're an idiot." Parsley said with a smile at the woman. His neck was craned to face her. "We aren't in Yarrow you moron. Outside your realm you have no power and neither do your Yarrow pals. They have to apply to the rules of the courts and going around killing people's property is illegal. Unless you know of any cultists I should worry about, I don't think I have a reason to worry."
That and he was a King. Rank spoke. Money spoke. And he never planned on visiting Yarrow. If his sister did she would just not take the Ace. Simple problem easily solved. Who dropped this crazy woman on her head anyway?
"My beloved sister is none of your concern. She's more than capable of defending herself and anyone she chooses. Frankly she could poke a hole through your head without a second glance." He rolled his eyes. "Well have fun Inali. You can go back to Yarrow Land when you feel you've tired of my Corvistowne."

He had flattened himself nearly to the ground by the time they were done fighting back and forth, his complexion a little paler than before. He really... hated conflict, had never been good with it, hence the running away like a coward, though little did he know it probably saved his life. If his mother had of known he was leaving, she wouldn't have been as... lenient as she had been, but that night had been a night of fear and choices to be made. Not at all unlike now. The Corvistowne male seemed to have decided he would protect him, and that nobody could hurt him now, and that the pretty Rosemary person would do that too.
Why was Inali so sad and angry? Did he matter that much in such a short span of time? No, he obviously didn't understand what was going on, he'd never really meant anything to anyone before. But now he was going to be owned by someone, and that was really exciting, because it meant someone wanted him. They could have any ace, but they wanted him! So he was special. He perked a bit when it seemed the tension was dying down and of course when Parsley spoke to him.
"I would like to see that, your house sounds nice." His tail began to twitch happily again behind him, though slow as if afraid that someone would get angry again. So far none of it was directed at him, which was good, it was never fun to see a pretty boy cry, and he probably would have. All the fox ever wanted was to make people happy and to have people like him, it was a simple desire, but it meant he was so easy to hurt sometimes that it was pathetic.
"Every single one? Wow..." He had no idea how many there were to be honest, but he knew that there were a lot, and it was a lot of ground to cover. His mental map made the trek to be even more impressive than it was, as his knowledge of geography was poor at best. "Coffee is good." He'd never actually had any, but he'd once briefly lived with a sparrow who loved the stuff and waking up every morning to that smell made good memories. Now the smell was a comfort thing, so he perked even more visibly at the idea.
He didn't know what to say to the female, so when she turned, he smiled meekly. "B-bye Inali... thanks for talking to me." It seemed like a strange thing to say but what more was there to say? He was Parsley's now, and he was actually excited to see what his life would start to be like. It was a whole new adventure just waiting to begin! He couldn't stay sad with that on the horizon, it was too hard. He beamed at the male and waited for him to move so that he could follow. His owner did things with mec-han-icals, and was a King, Sabien was sure he'd get to learn and hear all sorts of interesting things from the male!

Even if the Yarrow Woman was leaving he wasn't about to lead her to his house. Paranoia wasn't a strong part of the squirrels life, but when it came to strangers who had just asked him where he lived it was pretty strong.
He nodded towards Sabien with a smile and started trotting to the coffee shop. "Just remember, you shouldn't talk in front of most people here...." If it was normal for Corivstowne for an Ace to talk then he'd be fine silent, and if it was normal for an Ace to be silent then he'd be set. The only Ace Parsley had ever known was Mr. Jingles and that cat didn't talk.
And if it did his Grandfather wasn't happy.
The coffee shop's interior was much nicer than the crumbling outside. It had freshly painted walls and a variety of warm decorations to match the paint. A person stood at the wooden counter scribbling in a small book next to the cash register.
"Welcome! How can I help you?" the person said cheerily.
"Can I have a cup of black coffee and some...." he glanced at one of the glass displays filled with food. "Some cheesecake?"
"Coming right up, sir! Take a seat!"
Parsley nodded as he slipped over to one of the tables. Hoping up on the chair. "Jump on the other one Sabien."

He nodded his head rapidly at the warning, he knew the drill. Someone had taken him in for a while before, but they'd found something prettier... he wasn't allowed to talk then, but that was okay because he got to listen to other people talk and they were always a lot more interesting! That nice Yarrow mouse talked to him and let him talk, would he still get to see her if he went with this pretty Parsley? Hopefully!
He walked inside the shop and made a silent 'oooh' with his mouth in regards to the striking appearance of the place. Understandably, Sabien wasn't exactly used to such finery. The person behind the counter was cheerful and friendly, it was nice to seet so many nice people! They were lead to a table, it all seemed really polite and fancy and all at once the canine felt horribly out of place. He wasn't important enough to be in a place like this. But Parsley was, so maybe that made it okay? He was his pet for now, right?
He followed the other male's glance towards the display and felt his mouth water, it was so.. so pretty. He almost thought he wouldn't be able to eat such fancy looking foods. And what on earth was a cheese cake? That sounded positively gross! Cheese and cake... well he knew cheese was a regular type of food and it was good, but cake was a dessert and he'd had some once, it had been chocolate. Cheese and chocolate... He continued to ponder the mechanics of this strange sounding food when Parsley indicated he could take a seat as well.
He hopped up and glanced around shyly, it seemed like they were alone. "Should I still be quiet?" He whispered, eyes wide with worry. He kind of wanted to ask about this cheese cake, but they had other things to talk about, too.

Parsley shrugged. "Talk all you want it doesn't matter to me."
He fiddled a bit with the napkins that had been place in front of him. He still didn't know how this Ace thing really worked. He had never honestly payed much attention to Mr. Jingles and the etiquette that was involved. Not like any of it matter to him anyway.
The cheesecake and coffee came quickly. The sever practically chirped with enthusiasm as they set down the dish. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me, sir!" They hurried off, the squirrel was left with the plate of velvet cheesecake and his black coffee.
Now the awkwardness could fill the space. He took a long sip of the tar like liquid that had been provided to him. He spent a long minute in silence as he felt the caffeine rush through his system. "So, want to try some of this cheesecake?"
He offered the canine the plate.
