"Oh, why do I even bother?" the black otter mix growled, and shoved past his brothers again to take up point. The little jacktards could just make up their own game; he wasn't going to waste his time on their cooperation anymore. They would just have to do what he told them to without any 'fun' stories to help them along.
Monte opened his mouth to point out that their eldest brother was trying his best to keep up with the game, but Donovan had already stalked off. The horse sighed, staring out through his purple forelock. The tri-region never felt comfortable just being a child, and Monte thought that it was probably fairly important that he have the opportunity as well. But Donovan was just so bent on saving their family. . .
"Look, we're going to head to the park," the otter mix said flatly as his brothers finally caught up. "I bet we can find what we'll need there."

Indivar stared after his brother, more than a bit bewildered, but willing to be persistant. He mustered up his courage, then smiled brightly at Monte. "We can play without him! .... Right?" After a moment of no reassurance he faltered slightly, but bravely continued on after Donovan.
If only the tri-breed didn't scare him quite so much! Donovan was the only one of his siblings that made him want to stuff something uncomfortable down his throat to keep himself from saying stupid things - no one else did that to him. Well, okay, Monte did occasionally, but usually only when he was feeling mean.
"Okay," He said as not-meekly as he could, though he knew it hadn't come out as well as he wanted. Why couldn't he be brave and bold like his brothers and sisters? He hated being the weepy one, but..

Donovan didn't wait for his brothers' agreement; he started walking and kept walking. They would follow because they had to follow him. He was, apparently, the only intelligent one in their entire freakin' family. It caused his blood pressure to rise just thinking about it, so he had to make himself start looking over the marks across the street. He hesitated for just a moment then trotted across the road and began to scout the people there.
Monte didn't stay to play with Gall-- Indivar. Because Donovan would yell at him-- loudly-- if he did not. He hurriedly along after his older brother and just prayed that their eldest brother would do the same. Fortunately, the otter mix seemed willing to do so because Donovan really was taking them all the way to the park and certainly wasn't waiting to be certain that either of his less movement-capable brothers could keep up.
