Dre swiftly slid to a stop when Kieran ran into someone; he seemed to be very good at that, actually. She waited to see if he was all right before her deep golden eyes slipped up to the woman. The other King only had to begin speaking for Dre's suspicion of her relation to the boy to be confirmed.
Her head tilted to one side at the woman's words and she gave a small smile. "Kieran is a pleasure to know," she answered lightly. "He desired to do something thoughtful for you."
The woman eyed the other child thoughtfully, inclining her head briefly towards the other child.
Drostan stood behind them with an annoyed expression, but at least there was no sign of that bloody human guy now. He really didn't like that man and was desperately hoping to never see him again.

"Did he, now?[/b]" the woman remarked, one ear flicking back as she grinned down at the boy, her bushy tail flicking thoughtfully. She raised her head once more to look at the other King, expression becoming rather curious. How was it that, in all her time here, she had never met this strikingly-colored woman? She muse be some relation of the presiding Queen... But curiously enough, she'd never met him, either. "Pale wouldn't tell me what he was doing. I understand now that it was intended as a surprise.[/b]"
As Apocalypse knew Dierdre's name, so did Rhiannon, but it would be rude not to let the woman introduce herself directly. "I am Rhiannon, by the way, and this is my daughter Treasa.[/b]" she offered. Of course, her son had likely already mentioned that - he was being... remarkably talkative. In a way, the King was torn - her son seemed to have bonded fast to the beautiful hybrid, but her weapon had little to say about the new woman. Which of the two would she listen to?
She decided that she would form her own opinion on the woman.
Kieran moved behind his mother, standing in front of his sister and encouraging her gingerly to step forward, which she did with all reluctance. "Sa, they're really nice," he whispered to her, nudging at her rump with his masked nose to push her forward a little further. She just stared up at the pair with wide eyes and focused back on the scarred Ace, fear passing through her eyes once more. What had happened to the man?!
"H-h-hi..."

Dre simply continued to smile at the woman during her mention of Pale, not showing any sign of what she might actually think of the weapon. As soon as the woman mentioned the girl's name, the falcon/equine hybrid dropped down to her knees again so she could send Treasa a gentle smile as well.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Treasa," the woman said in a soft voice. "My name is Dierdre. May your life be filled with hilltops." She inclined her head, causing deep green waves fell to tickle along her cheeks.
Drostan's ears flattened as the girl began to stare towards them. Scared or not, he hated being stared at. He bared his teeth at the frightened little girl and then almost immediately felt horrible for it.
Dre glanced back at him and shot him a disappointed look. The Ace sat down and looked glumly away. Stupid woman. Dre turned back to the girl. "Don't worry about Drostan, Treasa. He just acts tough."
"I am tough," he disagreed quietly, but he didn't look back yet.

Bright golden eyes stared up at the woman, the normally silky-smooth brow above them furrowing slightly with the effort that it took her to even stand in front of the sweet woman, but more importantly be in direct view of the terrifying Ace. She'd never seen someone with so many gashes on their body... She began to tremble, deciding that she'd focus instead on Dierdre. "I-I like t-t-the hills..." she whimpered softly, tripping over even the simplest of words. "I-I've only b-been h-here for a little b-bit, t-though. I-I w-want to explore t-them when my b-brother Jak g-gets back."
She glanced back at the Ace just in time to see him snarl at her, letting out a strangled cry of fear and tripping over her own feet in an effort to hide behind her brother, stumbling and landing right on those strange bone-wings of hers. She let out a pained gasp, beginning to cry, and glared out at the Ace from under one of her brother's gold-tipped wings. She activated her pain ability on him.
Rhiannon, meanwhile, shifted almost immediately, putting the majority of her bulk between her children and the Ace, giving the man an expression that almost dared him to do anything more to her children. She was a fiercely protective mother, especially to the only children that she and Lior would be able to share. She didn't say anything, knowing that Dierdre would likely deal with her pet's behavior as she saw it appropriate to do so.
"Would you care to join me in my room and someone can finally tell me what this surprise is?[/b]" she finally offered, breaking the silence that had fallen upon them. She gave the other King a small smile - she could see the brownies very clearly, but her son was still overly excited about it.
Kieran jumped to his feet, tail wagging quickly. "Follow me!" he announced, trotting once more down the hall. Treasa followed him, trailing behind a bit so that she could walk closer to the pretty new woman. So far, she hadn't let up even a little with the use of her pain ability, which... was probably becoming very annoying.

Drostan started when the girl fell backwards, and he reached out a paw as though to help and then realized that this probably wouldn't be accepted since he evidently had seriously scared the girl. He just didn't want her to stare! Of course, then something poked him hard in the ribs. He made a sound of annoyance and looked around swiftly. Of course no one was near him.
The incident happened quickly, and Dre lofted a brow at the Ace and then back at the family members. She was rather surprised by everyone's reactions and she had to give the family a faint smile. "Truly, he's only grouchy." She poked the Tulgey in the side and he started violently.
Actually, he was acting a bit oddly, every few seconds, the Ace would start and look around quickly. Uncertain of what he was doing, she tapped his nose to check his temperature, but it seemed fine. The Ace flinched suddenly again. With a small shrug, Dre turned to the Bogdweller and gave her a quick bow. "You'll have to forgive him; I think he's feeling poorly." And if he ever actually did something truly bad, the chance of him surviving it would be fairly slim.
With that, the hybrid turned her back on her pet and quickly followed after the others. Drostan made a face as he got smacked again by nothing. He sent a suspicious glance towards the little girl, but everyone was ignoring him now. Blast it!

Once there was no longer any cause for alarm, the elder woman stepped down, looking almost embarassed at her abrupt and defensive posture. It had been her daughter's pained cry that had sent her forward in such a rush, an instinctive movement that the woman had no control over. There was no reason for alarm, she could now see. "It's quite alright.[/b]" she said with a small duck of her head, the fur covering her cheeks darkening as she blushed slightly. "I'm far too protective of them, it's true.[/b]"
It was easier for her to hide her embarassment when they began to walk, and she fell in pace beside the woman. "If he doesn't improve, my Queen is rather educated in the care of pet Aces. She could potentially be of use in figuring out what the matter is.[/b]" she gave the woman a small but honest smile.
Kieran pranced ahead of the group, occasionally flapping his multiple wings. They would never support him in flight, but he enjoyed the feel of the wind between his feathers all the same. He turned back to look at the adults as they walked, feeling pleased to see that they were keeping pace and that his mother seemed to be extending a hand to the beautiful woman.
Treasa, however, found herself hanging back even more, easing up on the use of her pain ability. It didn't take long for her to feel badly for using it to begin with. Soon she was walking beside the Ace, peering at him from beneath her bangs before looking away quickly again. "S-sorry I w-was staring b-b-before," the girl stuttered, doing her best to keep up beside him. "I-I've j-just never s-seen someone all b-beat up b-before. D-does it hurt?"

Dre smiled brightly at the woman, pleased that she wasn't upset anymore. "It's very important to keep your children close to you," the hybrid said firmly. "They are quite precious." Her gaze trailed back up towards Kieran and a hint of longing entered her gaze. She couldn't wait to have children, especially since she had the hottest guy in the world to one day have children with. It was going to be lovely. Her tail swished back and forth with pleasure.
"Kieran mentioned half siblings?" the King prodded gently, it never quite occurring to her that this might be a rather invasive question.
Drostan was relieved when the magical beating finally stopped, but serious wariness entered his gaze when the girl dropped back. She stuttered an apology at him and his feeling of uneasy shot through the roof. Well, he couldn't snap at her now! "Don't worry about it, he finally answered quickly, his voice low and his eyes on the floor. He didn't want to reply the question, but, really, did he have a choice? "It doesn't anymore." His voice was gruff, though his words were careful.

The woman was right, of course, and in that moment she completely won the Bog-dweller's heart over completely. She beamed at Dre. "They truely are.[/b]" she said in a soft voice practically glowing with pride. Her life had improved so much since her children had entered her life - she didn't want to think about certain aspects of it, of course, but the woman was almost starting to believe that which she was planning to tell her children.
At Dierdre's question, Rhiannon tilted her head to the side, grinning to herself. "That's right,[/b]" she replied, giving the other King a small nod. "Four of them... I never dreamed that I'd have so many children, but now that I do, I can't imagine what I'd do without them.[/b]" She laughed openly as they reached the door to her room, opening it politely for the other woman and inviting her in. "Life throws us for a loop sometimes, but it almost always works out for the best.[/b]"
Kieran darted between his mother's legs and dashed into the room, leaping up onto her bed and bouncing excitedly. "Dierdre! Dierdre, the surprise!" he cried out cheerfully. "You can finally eat it!" Rhiannon glanced from her son back to the winged hybrid, raising an eyebrow.
The girl went quiet again, looking a little embarassed with herself for having bothered the man with her insignificant questions. He was just so interesting, though... She couldn't help herself from wanting to talk to him, especially now that he wasn't glaring like he wanted to eat her. She paused outside of her mother's door, blushing slightly. "D-do you wanna p-p-play with me?" she asked finally, expression brightening. "If Miss D-D-D... Dre is okay with that..." her tail gave a hopeful little wag.

Dre couldn't admit to jealousy, but at least Rhiannon's story gave her hope for kids of her own one day. It was going to be wonderfully grand, though there would be no half-siblings on either side. She would never cheat and if Ignatius did, she would be forced to kill him. One hand went to her Heart marking for just a moment, but she followed the woman into her room with no commentary on these particular thoughts.
"You are wonderfully fortunate and blessed," Dre said with a smile and the hint of content laughter in her words. Then Kieran was excitedly bouncing around and the laughter bubbled out. "Yes, we finally can," she agreed, and swept into a swift curtsy towards Rhi as she presented one of the plates to the other woman. "A gift, your highness, from his most excellent Kieran."
Drostan's ears went back in surprise and he sent the girl a baffled look. He seemed to have much better luck with children than with adults, but that didn't make it any less surprising for him when anyone suddenly decided to reach out. He glanced towards his mistress and gave a small sigh. "I doubt she'll even notice."

Rhiannon laughed openly at the dramatic presentation of the gift, normally harsh yellow eyes sparkling with amusement as she glanced back at her son, who squirmed with excitement. She pulled her chair out, offering it to the woman with a small grin, and leapt onto her bed, wrassling briefly with the boy before curling around him, licking the top of his head happily. "Kieran, your papa would be so proud of you,[/b]" she announced, nuzzling the boy's cheek before turning her attention back to her guest. "And thank you as well,[/b]" she said softly, nodding to the woman before she took a bite of a brownie.
Mmmmm. Delicious. Kieran settled in against his mother's side, purring and kneading at her with his stretched out paws. His belly was filling fast with the joy that was filling the room and the sunlight that streamed through the open windows.
"I'm quite surprised that I've never seen you around the Palace,[/b]" Rhiannon commented between bites, flashing a smile at Dierdre. Her ears perked forward, interested. "I was born here, but my socializations were few and far between - my paranoid mother was terrified of what might happen to her Six of a daughter if I were to go out unsupervized.[/b]"
Treasa's tail began to wag quickly at his reply, taking it to mean that yes, he would play with her. That was a positive step. "S-so you w-will! You're t-t-the g-greatest!" she bounced around his feet, with much less enthusiasm than her brother but excited and happy all the same. She trotted into her mother's open door, ignoring the looks she got and diving into the closet to pull out a small rope-toy, her uncle's present to her. She dropped into a play bow, growling "deeply" at the man, her tail wagging.
The thought that he wasn't a canine and likely would have no clue what she expected never once entered her mind.
