Accus’ fur stood on end as he watched the hybrid make his way to the roof of the building. His hand immediately flew to his braid, tugging and twisting. His mesmerized stare, eyes wide and maw parted just so, snapped the moment Tavor had landed. What was he doing?. Accus bit off a snarl and snapped up his cage, twisting open the little metal door and holding it to his chest.
The finch continued her quiet, nervous chirping, unaware of the Card lurking behind her…until the shadow of Tavor’s wing fell down over her. She have a startled chirp and took off from the ledge, flapping wildly. Not down, but across.
“Aah!” Accus gave a start and rushed forward, swinging his fingers between his teeth and blowing hard. The whistle was sharp and long. But effective. The finch dropped. Reeling backward.
Oops.
With another gasp Accus dropped the cage and rushed forward, hands outstretch. The finch landed in his palms. He closed his fist around her. Thwack. Accus’ jaw collided with the ground rattling his teeth. Sparks of pain shot through his skull as the rest of his body joined him.
Ouch.
The finch, meanwhile, squeaked pleasantly and squirmed against the rather tight grip.
