A faire! There was a faire in town! Well, in city. A traveling carnival had entered the market district and set aside a whole area for themselves, and they were a group that had obviously come by time and time again, considering how used to the whole bustle everyone seemed to be. That wasn't to say that they weren't excited, no - everyone was horrible, utterly excited, and various vendors were setting themselves up in strategic locations to take advantage of the crowds that were already starting to gather around. The carnival was being set up, tents errected and wagons pulled out and around to make a grand show of themselves. Quinn danced among the revelers, wearing her otter shape but with her fur dyed a multitude of spritely colors - it looked like she was part Morganberry today, with some Villa mixed in, and maybe even a touch of Yarrow, with a sprinkling of Corvistowne or Torquehelm on top for the black to add drama to the whole thing. She wasn't just wearing her belled handcuffs and collar, but a multitude of other belled jewelry as well, and so many people mistook her for being a member of the carnival. Well, it was their own fault for the mistake, and she was fortunate that she was wearing a short, belled vest, because in her excitement she'd completely forgotten to give herself a Suit and Rank. It took her only a few minutes to reach her beloved Vessatha's apartment, and she knew that the children were all out today, and were spending time with friends, and maybe they'd even see them at the faire. But now was not the time to think about silly little things that ran underfoot and got in the way of her time with her beloved. "Vessatha, my love!" Quinn sang as she knocked politely on the door before opening it and stepping in. "Vessatha, beloved, will you come with me to the faire?"

Vessatha quietly hummed to herself as she danced through the apartment--yes, danced--with a feather duster, absently cleaning off every surface she passed. It was a quiet, relaxing day, though admittedly boring; Dysthymia had chosen to stay at the Courts so he could goof off with Morpheus ("Study some more"), Saethre had run off with some friends, and.. she just didn't ask where Chiari and Aphasia went, generally. Her bipedal allowed her to maneuver around the somewhat cramped apartment without running into too many things, and let her twirl around whenever she felt like it. Dancing wasn't as much fun by herself, but she had no idea where Quinn was, and Varestes was hardly in her apartment. The brief knock on her door made her pause, and she went to open it, still humming under her breath. A very familiar figure (well, somewhat familiar--she had a very interesting color choice on today) stopped her before she got even halfway there, which brought a smile to her face. The ferret quickly set the duster down and morphed to her animal to be on the same level as the otter, then went and nuzzled her in greeting. She tilted her head, remembering that the faire had come to town.. perhaps that was where Saethre had went. Did she really care? No, not really. It sounded like fun, though, letting Quinn drag her to various things.. "Okay," Vessa replied with a smile. "But only if you promise to buy me a teddy bear and cuddle with me on whatever sappy invention they brought this time." Her tone was light and teasing.. though she did want a teddy bear and a cuddle.

Delight! Delight and joy and all of those other fun and happy adjectives! Quinn was in a horrifically good mood right then, and so when Vessatha appeared before her and gave her a nuzzle, it was all that she could do to keep from taking a Bipedal shape and bending the ferret over backward to give her a proper kiss. Of course, if Vessa hadn't already taken her own Animal form, there was nothing to say that she wouldn't have done it anyway, because it was rather difficult to properly dip a Card in an Animal form.
"Of course!" she replied with a big smile on her muzzle. "A teddy bear, and a snuggle, and we'll eat everything there and ride all of the rides and get ourselves absolutely sick and then laugh about it all!" Quinn was about to start hauling the two of them back toward the ever-growing crowd of revelers, before she suddenly paused and took one of the belled necklaces that she was wearing and carefully - oh-so-carefully - placed it around Vessatha's neck.
"There," she said with satisfaction. "Now everyone will know that you're mine, and no one will try to make some sort of evil, dastardly move on you because they're attracted by your astounding beauty." And then they were off!
[ooc: ...Caramel Dansen is a horrifically catchy song, and perfectly matches my Quinn muse. *dances like a dork*]

Vessatha could easily sense that Quinn was remarkably energetic--the otter looked as if she wanted to jump Vessatha--so grinned in response. She kept forgetting that her mate had gained her bipedal--Vessa was so used to automatically adjusting down that she did it without a second thought now. But if Quinn wasn't going to mention it, she wasn't. It kept them out of trouble.. for now.. at least they'd actually get out of the house this way.
She snorted. "You can eat everything there and get sick, but I like having hips, thank you," Vessatha replied in a dry tone, then leaned over and gently nipped the otter's ear to show she was teasing as she walked past her and out the door. Harlequinn had a naturally fast metabolism and Vessatha didn't--to the point where the ferret didn't eat much that wasn't green.. not that she really had at any point, given how she'd come to the city. Quinn had exposed her to plenty of fatty foods, though she didn't like most of them--but it was hard to watch the otter eat so much chocolate, damn her.
Vessatha nearly gave Quinn a disgusted look at the necklace, but sighed and lightly rolled her eyes instead. Just to amuse her, she lightly shook her neck and set the bells tinkling.. but put her paw up to stop it just as quickly. "The only dastardly move they're going to make is if I annoy them so badly I get punched, but whatever floats your boat my dear." The ferret snickered, and began walking.

Her dearest obsession was playing along, and it meant that Quinn was quite literally dancing down the streets toward the faire as they went, her bells chiming in time with her movements, and somehow she made it so that they were actually chiming on a rhythm instead of just clanging and clattering loudly. It was a trick she'd managed so very long ago when she was...when she was...she didn't know when, but it was a long time ago. The otter's black eyes were dancing just as energetically, and the bright colors of her chosen coat didn't actually stand out all that much, considering the size of the crowd that they were a part of and the fact that there were people from all over here. Of course, the fact that all of those colors were combined on a single Card did draw quite a few looks, many of them terribly startled, but she was used to them and ignored them all.
By the time the two of them reached the faire, they'd gotten the first part of it completely set up, along with a bit of a midway and all sorts of prizes and games for Cards of all sorts to play. There was even a bombing run-game for flying Cards, who had to fly over a course at a certain altitude and drop a ball as close to a target as they could, and anyone who somehow managed to actually hit the target got a prize. Harlequinn thought that she might have to have a try at that some time later, when she could sneak away and then come back as a bird.
"So, where is it that you want to go?" she asked excitedly.

Vessatha almost danced along with her, but remembered she had dignity, holed up though it may be. So she trotted lightly along with her and tried not to look too amused at the otter's antics. They arrived just in time for the faire to start, and she began looking around for something to entertain themselves with. Quinn would likely to do anything she wanted to do, which was reaffirmed by her question.
"Hmm.." Vessatha paused to look around better. There were several hit-the-target games that looked fun.. and was that a bright pink teddy bear she saw? Oh yes it was! "I think instead of buying me a teddy bear, you should win me a teddy bear!" The ferret grinned and pranced over to the stall that had the bear. "That one, specifically." She pointed, then sat back and watched patiently.

"Oh! Oh, yes! It's really bright and pretty too," Quinn said as she followed her obsession over to the nearby stand. She looked over the game itself - it was a pretty simple one, of the "knock over the stand of bottles with a ball" variety, though she had no doubt that there was a trick of five employed for the game to make it a lot harder than it looked.
"Step right up, step right up! Knock over the bottles and win a prize, knock of over all three piles of bottles and win the GRAND prize! It's only a few coppers for three balls, come on, step right up!" The barker for the stand was obviously well-practiced in his trade, a rangy orange-marked Corvistowneian coyote with a hat tilted at a jaunty angle on top of his head. His golden eyes caught sight of the rather colorful pair, both of them wearing bells (though one had gone completely overboard on them), and he lit up and turned his attentions directly toward them. "What about you, Miss? You up for a try to win a present for your lady-friend, there?"
Quinn gave the game another considering look, and then grinned brightly at Vessatha as she did in fact step right up. As she did so her body shifted and morphed, from the Animal form of the extreme Mix she'd seen so long ago to the Bipedal form, much more appropriate for throwing things at other things. "You'll see! I'll get it for you, my Sapphire-Eyed Beauty," she said as she reached into her money pouch and pulled out the requistite coppers, handing them over and recieving the trio of balls in their place. Now, how to go about this...?

"Indeed it is," Vessatha replied, eyeing the stuffed animal from it's perch on a shelf. It looked remarkably like their son, Dysthymia, in coloring, though the bear was striped instead of spotted. Either way, it would look absolutely adorable on her dresser at her apartment, and would be a nice memory of the day.. assuming Harlequinn could get it without cheating. (Quinn liked cheating sometimes..) She sat down where she was on the side of the stand, and rolled her eyes when Quinn morphed into bipedal in the outrageous form she'd taken. It suited her, though, bright colors and a freakin' million bells. If someone ever wanted to stalk Harlequinn, it wouldn't be a problem.
Ever.
To egg her mate on some more, Vessatha leaned forward and adopted the most hopeful look possible as she stared intently at the otter. Quinn likely knew it was all a facade (Vessa tried to never look pathetic, it just wasn't her style) but would likely play along, for the fun of it.
Once in a while Vessatha did do something fun. Outrageous!

So cute! Quinn felt like she would just about burst from the look that Vessatha was giving her, because it was so cute and adorable and pleading, and even if it was playing, it was playing and that made it all the better! Just to play along with it, she paused and posed a few times, pretending to flex her muscles to show off, before laughing brightly and grinning at Vessa. It was a fun game, and it made it so that she wanted to win the game honestly, actually, though there was nothing to say that she wouldn't use her knowledge of the game to give herself a few advantages to things.
She placed two of the balls on the counter, tossing the third up and down a few times to get a feel for it before she wound up dramatically and took a shot at the pile of bottles on the left. Her aim sent the ball straight toward the base of the pile, and dark eyes noted the way that it hit them solidly and caused them to rock a bit, but it had ultimately bounced off of them.
"Ha ha! Nice shot there, Miss! Looks like it wasn't quite strong enough to knock them over this time. Come on, you've got two more balls, take another try, and let's see if you can get some more power into that swing!" The barker's attitude seemed real, but she could only imagine how many times he'd said those words before, and to how many people. Quinn picked up the second ball as she'd been instructed, and before winding up she paused and looked up at the barker, mischievous smile shining in full.
"Come on now, say that with some real enthusiasm! You have a real legend standing in front of you, you know. You don't see myths like me all the time...or maybe you do. It's hard to tell, isn't it?" Then she wound up and threw again, the second ball impacting into the top half of the bottles that had been weakly glued together, tipping the whole thing over to land with a crash on the ground as the weak glue gave up and they scattered. Seconds later, the third ball took down the second stack, and they joined the first on the ground.
"...er..." The Corvie coyote blinked a few times at the mixed-Realm otter, and then his practiced smile came back onto his face, grinning broadly at the pair in front of him and anyone else around. Lunatics could believe what they liked, he decided, and then got on with his job. "Good job, there! It's a shame you couldn't knock all three of them down, Miss, but that was a heck of a show with the last two balls! Do you want to pay for more balls and try and take down three piles this time, or would you like to claim your prize now?"
"Ooh, ooh! The pink teddy bear, for my Beautiful Gem of Love here!" she squealed, and bounced up and down, taking the requested toy in her arms with a laugh before turning and dropping onto one knee before Vessie in a graceful motion, the bear held out before her like an offering. "For you, my Perfection."

Vessatha honestly laughed when Quinn flexed--it was just so Quinn of her to do so. She leaned foward in order to see the game as best as possible, her attention completely zeroed in on it.
Once Quinn had won--with little difficulty, despite the game master trying to see otherwise--she clapped enthusiastically, laughing along with it. She accepted the bear delightedly cuddled it like no tomorrow (it really was incredibly adorable) before she leaned forward and licked Quinn's muzzle, very happy with her prize.
Abruptly she jumped up, the bear gently in her mouth (how else was she to hold it with no hands?) and stared across the faire and what couldn't be anything but a giant ferris wheel. "Ooh! We should ride the ferris wheel, Quinn! Doesn't that sound fun?"
Now that she thought about it she had no idea if the otter had any fear of heights, but she'd never thought to ask.
