Isolde was exhausted after three hours of moving her things into her new apartment in the city so she figured a break was much deserved. She put on her cutest outfit and headed out to Furgus's. The place was hopping tonight, she could barely fit into the room and she wondered how they avoided the cops coming in and breaking up the joint. No matter, she found a stool to sit and ordered her typical Gin on the Rocks. Most wouldn't consider it a girls drink per se but it suited her just fine. Almost as well as the cute Selkie Laker staring at her from across the room. She did the only thing that would be polite, she sauntered over making sure she made every step count. " Hi there" she cooed. " How about giving a girl some company" " I will give you anything you want, Darlin'. I might not even charge you for it either. Name's Mark, what's yours?" This was going to be way too easy for her. " I'm Isolde" she held out her paw for him to shake or kiss, whatever his custom was. He opted to kiss it, real suave Mark my boy. " Isolde... beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Howsabout you and I get out of here Isolde?" She was about to answer when she saw someone. Someone very familiar to her.

It was a rare night; a night to just relax, no work, but that in turn bored him. It meant a night with no company and that he would actually have to go out and find some if, he wanted a roll in the hay. His usual bars and clubs had become boring to him and he needed a change of pace. He had heard of Furgus’ bar a few times and decided what the hell, I’ll check it out. As he rounded the corner, he could tell that the place was very busy tonight, not exactly, what he wanted but it was a little too late now. He made his way into the building and settled down on one of the empty seats at the bar. “Scotch on the rocks” he told the bartender and the drink was deliver to him just as fast as he had ordered it. He lifted the glass to his lips and took a sip as he eyed the crowed. There really were too many people here for him to approach any one, he sighed. He went to lift his drink again for another sip when he heard a familiar voice. He set the glass down and spun around on his stool then eyed the crowed again. If it really was here, he was sure he would have noticed her the instant she walked into the room. He did not see her and figured it was just his imagination, but as he went to turn back around, he heard her voice again and followed the location with his eyes. Isolde! What was she doing here…and why was she with him?! Quickly he jumped off his seat leaving his drink behind; he was a man on a mission. The distance between them quickly closed and he was right next to her and he suddenly spoke as he placed himself between Isolde and the stranger. “The lady is spoken for….” He eyed the lake-lander with such fierceness that it would have shocked any one that knew him. He was upset and it showed, some could have even called it possessive, but he did not care.

Before she even had a chance to say anything Aeron had just appeared out of nowhere and was now getting fierce with the guy she was chatting up. Uh oh, it all happened so fast she almost spit her gin out when she saw him. OH GOD THE JIG IS UP. He seemed none to pleased to see her though... she felt like the puppy who just got caught pissing on the carpet. Though it baffled her that he should get so upset about this, they never said once they were dating nor did they say they were exclusive.
Mark had just stepped into a shit-storm so to speak and he knew it. "I-uh sorry mate, I didn't know she was taken..." he said quickly as he bolted. He was not about to get his ass beat in a pub by this guy, he was pretty sure he would lose this fight.
Isolde just stood there unable to move or speak. "A-Aeron... I... I don't know what to say, what was that!" she asked. She just wanted to know why he was so upset, all she knew was that they needed to have a chat.

Aeron did not move he did not make a single expression as the selkie apologized and then bolted away. He did not even look at Isolde after she had addressed him, and it was still taking a few moments for him to calm down enough to face her.
Not once had it entered his head that she could have been sleeping around. No once had he even tried to come to terms with his own feelings for her, now it was being thrown into the light, and there was nowhere else to run. Slowly he turned around, grabbed her arm and led her out of the bar…”Let’s go...” was all he said, but the look on his face had softened. He looked confused, scared, angry and in denial all at the same time. H wanted to answer her question, but he just did not know how to…or if he even could.

Aeron wasn't answering her... in fact him not saying anything kind of worried her. For several minutes, he didn't say anything to her then he just led her silently out of the bar. Isolde didn't know what to think, she just knew she was in trouble for some reason.
"A-Aeron... please talk to me... I'm sorry..." she begged. She hadn't seen him like this and it kind of scared her a little bit. Even if he did look normal now, he still wasn't speaking to her and she knew he was upset. She just didn't know why...
If she had known he didn't want her sleeping around then she would have respected his wishes but he never even said that to her. Given it could have been one of those need not be said kind of things but she was so aloof sometimes that she never would have understood that.

Aeron was not saying anything because he did not know where to even begin to start. So many things ran through his head as he led them outside and around the corner away from the crowds so that he could talk to her alone.
He stopped and just stood there silent again for a while, he was not going to cry and he was going to try to push back his emotions as well as he could. Finally, he took a deep breath “How many people have you been with since that night with me Isolde?” He turned and faced her. “Was I not enough for you? Was I just a means to an end? Did it mean anything at all?”
He waited for her reply; did she not realize that he never approached the same person repeatedly for sex? Did she even realize that she was special to him?

Well Isolde felt more and more like an asshole. She followed Aeron around the corner away from all the on-lookers.
"I-I don't know what to say Aeron. I only slept with one guy since you and it was only because I didn't realize you wanted more from me. If I even thought that for a minute, I never would have done a thing. I hadn't come here with the intention of opening my legs, I had intended just to unwind because I moved to Capital City this week.
Listen, you are plenty enough for me but I really truly didn't know I meant more to you than just someone to sleep with sometimes. You are very special and important to me and I would never intentionally hurt you, I hope you will accept my apology and forgive me" she said sadly.
Just when things were getting good, she went and fouled it up again. Of course this was why she didn't have relationships because when she did manage one... she always figured out a way to fuck things up.

Aeron was shocked as he stood there in silence and listened to her reply. He did not expect her answer and why did she not tell him that she was moving to the capital? How could she not realize that he wanted more from her, yet at the same time, besides calling on her once or twice a week what was he doing to really show that? Was he not still sleeping with other women on a regular basis? She was right, he had not shown her his true feelings and intentions…he had not even been completely honest with himself until now. What kind of man was he?
He looked at the ground ashamed to look her in the face. “Isolde…I do not deserve you…I should have not only been honest with myself but also with you.” He looked up at her briefly before turning away. “Go have your fun…I’ll be in touch when I have had the time to reflect on some things…” And with that said he started to walk away.

Isolde felt terrible more and more with each passing moment. Just when she met a nice guy too... what was she going to do? She became overwhelmed and did the only thing she could, she cried. Isolde wasn't one to sob but noiseless tear fell from her eyes. How could she have been so stupid? He was here all along and she hadn't even seen it. Silly wretch of a girl, you've most likely gone and lost him as well. You're awful and that's why people keep leaving you. That was why Cecilia didn't want her, wasn't it? She should have expected Aeron would want to leave her too. She breathed in and tried to form her words as best she could.
"If you really feel you need to walk away from me then I won't stop you... but please know Aeron that I never meant to cause you any harm and that I... well I love you. No one has meant as much to me as you do" she sniffed, the tears running down her delicate face. Her heart was broken and she didn't know what she could do to make this better but she had to find a way. She belonged to him and she just wanted him to believe that.

He continued to walk away from her while she spoke to him. It did not matter any more he was just a good lay and that was it, he was not blind nor stupid when it came to these things. Suddenly he stopped and his eyes went wide. Wait, did she just say that she loved him? He was hearing things; it could not possibly be true.
He stood in silence for a moment as he thought about her words. Why was she saying this now? How long had she felt this way? So many more questions ran quickly through his head but those two were the ones that stood out the most. “How can I believe you…” was all he could manage to say and it was almost a whisper. He still did not face her. “If you loved me…why did you not say it before?” He quickly turned around and faced her. “If I meant so much to you then why did you not think about what your actions would cause if I ever found out?”
Aeron took a deep breath, he felt betrayed but he wanted to say this as calmly as possible. “I love you Isolde….I have always wanted you as my own from the first moment I met you…I lied to myself for a long time, for too long…but never once did you not enter my thoughts. You were always special to me…” He looked away. “But I do not think that you are ready for the love that I have for you…your actions tonight with that selkie only proved it…not only him, but this other person you slept with…and I’m sure there have been more or there would be before you really came out and said how you feel.” He took another deep breath as he steadied himself for his next set of words. He only hoped that he would not regret them later. “Isolde, I think that right now it is best if we do not speak to each other. You need time to really reflect on your actions and the meaning of those words you spoke allowed to me…” He just stood there, his own words broke his heart, but he was not going to be his father when it came down to the person he loved above all else, he could not any more. Too many things had been said…too many things had been realized.
