Viola hummed to herself as she rearranged the flowers in her antlers to the best of her ability. Visiting that nice flower shop was one of the few things that cheered her up now. She should honestly get over herself and stop being so bloody miserable. She was alive, had two children to take care of, and yet she couldn't help but slitter down the street with a frown on her face. She sighed. Maybe she should try to go to Esterberry for a degree anyway? But the kids... wouldn't be comfortable there, she was sure of it. The snake-deer stopped in mid slithered when she saw something out of the corner of her eye. That was very clearly a person she had never seen before. Someone she had never even imagined was possible. A butterfly! Her eyes lit up like Christmas trees as she looked at the woman. Should she go and say hello?

You just got your bipedal form, Vana, why don't you go enjoy it?Anatolius's words rang through her ears, echoing like the most daunting of challenges when really it should have been so simple. She was supposed to be enjoying herself. Treating herself to something nice as a reward for hard work? The butterfly sighed and wrung her lower hands together nervously. Worse yet, she got even more awful looks now. Not only was she a butterfly but she was a person with four arms and a beautifully shiny headdress. That really did attract attention even without her being a butterfly. The Corvistownien breathed a heavy sigh, her feathered head-wings tucking more closely to her skull as she reached up to run her fingers gently through Faolin's static-charged fur. The Mome chirred quietly, nuzzling against his summoner's cheek. It was absolutely frustrating to see Vana so sad all the time... If she didn't keep such a tight hold on him he would've happily given that horrible woman that had made her so sad a big shock... or chewed through her dress. The mome ground its teeth together briefly, pressing closer to the butterfly with determined affection. Vana glanced at her companion and smiled weakly. "I suppose I really should try to enjoy myself, hm? At least a little..." She laughed softly when the Mome crooned happily in response.

Viola watched her closely as she moved down the street. Her wears flicked a few times in contemplation. She was really bad with people. Epically so. And yet... she really wanted to approach the woman. It wasn't every day that you met a butterfly!
She slithered through the crowd, trying her hardest to avoid being stepped on. People sometimes forgot to look for someone's tail on the ground. Finally though, after what seemed like forever she managed to get near the butterfly person.
She really was pretty.
"Uh... excuse me, miss?" Viola said as loud as she could muster.
Don't screw this up. Even if pron to blurt out what came to your head the first thing you thought, just remember that not everyone appreciates it. She thought as she looked at the woman, putting her normal cheerful smile on.
"Uh... I was wondering if.... you would be interested in some company?"
That... didn't come out right at all. But what was the use of correcting herself when she just blurted it out?

Vana stopped short when she was hailed by a soft voice. It wasn't the usual sort of greetings she got and the offer for company even less so. People usually just asked if they could stare at her wings, or if she really was a butterfly and not just some weird freak. She turned hesitantly and flashed a tiny smile to the woman.
"Oh, Hi..." Parvana fidgeted while Faolin crooned in her ear, eyeing the serpent on the ground. He didn't like her. Faolin grumbled and wrapped his tail around Vana's neck possessively, but Vana ignored him. "I think company would be nice, actually."
Even though she was supposed to be out enjoying her useful new form, Vana couldn't help but feel slightly bad for her new found company. She remembered all too clearly what it was like to be the only animal, or insect rather, in the room.
"I'm Parvana, by the way... Thank you for the kind offer." She clasped and unclasped her lower hands while stroking Faolin with her other pair. "Would you be more comfortable if I was in my animal form as well? I'm not used to this bipedal shape yet..."

"Oh no! Don't change on my account!" Vio said, the flowers bouncing in her antlers as she spoke. "I'm fine! Really! I really don't want you to be uncomfortable because of me, I mean you're obviously dressed so nicely and such!"
She would have waved an appendages if she had any, instead her ears flicked back and forward furiously with her exclamations that weren't all that loud at all. Projecting her voice in a large crowd never really worked well.
But at least the woman wasn't offended.
"Um, I'm Viola. It's nice to meet you." She said brightly, "I just saw you from afar and couldn't help myself. I've never really seen a Corvie as pretty as you before!" She could feel the blush creeping onto her face. Wonderful. "Would you like a flower?" She offered her one of the violets in the bouquet she was holding on her antlers.
At least... she was doing a bit better than she did with Helena. This time she would focus and not forget the woman's name. She hoped.

Vana couldn't help but find her cordial little smile turning, briefly, into something more genuine. She was a naturally happy person, being this depressed was so... unlike her.
"It's not at all uncomfortable, really..." The butterfly blushed profusely at the serpent's comments, fidgeting with her clothes with her lower arms. Lately she never seemed to feel very pretty, not since... She quickly cut her thoughts off before they could travel down dark and tearful lanes. Instead she focused on the pretty snake; Viola. Who had, to Vana's blushing shock, had just called her pretty. The butterfly touched her cheek with one of her upper arms, trying to hide her intense blush. "T-Thank you, that's not why people usually approach me."
It meant a lot, so very very much.
"It's very nice to meet you, Viola... It's made this afternoon a great deal better than I thought it would be." She smiled a bit more fully and eyed the bouquet nestled in Viola's antlers. O! That was so pretty! "I would love one... C-Can I maybe make a chain of them? They look so pretty in your antlers..."

Viola smiled. Ha! She did do something right by not keeping what she was thinking bottled up inside. Triumph! It was enough to make her break out into a wide grin.
And then she blinked in surprise. She glanced up at the other woman. She wanted to lace the flowers together and make a crown? The snakes ears flipped upwards as her eyes widened in contemplation. How many times had she wanted to do that with someone? She couldn't honestly count.
"Yes! You can! That would be wonderful actually!" Viola said truly happily as she bounced with each word. "Uh, but would you like to get out of the street and have some tea with me? Sitting at a table just seems like a better idea than standing out in the street. Actually... I think sitting at the fountain would probably be better." She offered with a bit of a wiggle.

The happy was infectious, so very very infectious.
How could she watch Viola beam and bounce and not do the very same thing? She smiled back, the expression growing more genuine with each reappearance, and nodded. "I think the fountain would be absolutely lovely, so much better than being in the thick of all these people." It must be hard, Vana thought, to get stuck in a crowd when you were so low to the ground...
Vana was quick to take up the offer to get out of the busy street, though she made sure to keep close to Vio and not allow anyone to possibly step on the antlered snake. That would've been just awful, Vana thought. As they walked/slithered, however, her eyes found themselves traveling to the woman's ears over and over again. She'd never seen a snake with ears before...
"Are... Are your ears soft?" The question came out before she could stop it and the butterfly blushed profusely afterward. Oh dear... Hopefully that didn't sound too silly...

Viola hummed happily as they made their way through the crowd. She "sidestepped" various people and things as she moved forward with a cheerful smile. Today was apparently a good day. She wouldn't have to worry about anything until she got home. That would be taken care of later.
Her ears flicked again at the comment the butterfly made as they were walking. She didn't pause in the street, instead she continued to the fountain. She'd never actually gotten a question about her ears before.
"Yes, I suppose they are. That's the only place I really have fur," she said with a snake like shrug. "I don't really think about it really. You can touch them if you really want to find out for yourself."
With that she pounced the side of the fountain, carefully balancing on the edge. There we go. She smiled at the butterfly, waiting for her to join her.

Parvana was entirely alright with keeping moving until they reached the fountain, that was for the best really. All along the way she watched the way Vio moved through the crowd, so graceful... She'd never noticed how very pretty snakes where before today.
When at last they reached the fountain, Vana happily joined the lovely snake on the stone ledge. Her legs swung gently over the edge and she used her lower set of arms to balance a bit better on the edge. "I... They do look really soft..." Her cheeks burnt a little from all the blushing she was doing. All of Vio looked soft, really, but her ears just looked like a different sort of soft. Gently she reached out, delicately stroking the softly furred ears and just a bit of the scales beneath them before quickly retracting her hand. They really did feel just like they looked, but she wasn't entirely certain how polite she was being, touching Vio so much. "Oh they really are as soft as they look." Vana beamed happily. "I really like them."
If anyone knew anything about weird ears, it was her. In the place of where she should have had them, she had another set of wings... however pretty they were. At least Viola's looked a bit more function.
