Xiven glanced at her sister with narrowed eyes. Well, she hadn't explained the entire situation, so there was no reason to snap at her sister. With a frustrated sigh, Xiven focused on the path in front of her.
"Mom hit him first," Xiven began. It was clear that she was irritated at the entire situation that clearly shouldn't have happened in her mind. "He used his pain ability on Mom. The crying had nothing to do with being in pain. He just... they both just..."
What everyone needed to do at some point was grow up. Her mother especially. And honestly it would be nice to have the person she loved on speaking terms with the person who gave birth to her. So much for that brilliant plan.
Oh. So Eldy hadn't seen her human form. Right.
"Thank you," She said with a small shrug. She was actually quite proud of the fact that she managed to get to human form, however at the moment she was far too annoyed to focus on anything good. "Mom should be fine... do you want to go back to the kids and tell them the good news?"

Eldy frowned, giving Xiven a bristling look. There was no need for her to take that -tone- with her. All she'd said was that there was an 'arguement', which could mean damn near anything. Part of her, the part that was slowly taking over as she'd grown up more these few months away from home, and was pushing away the petty, childish streak the girl stubbornly clung to, keyed in to the fact that it wasn't her Xiven was frustrated with. It still rubbed her the wrong way, but she took a deep breath before replying, forcing herself to calm and her fur to smooth out.
"Right, I understand." She refrained from adding that perhaps the King had deserved to be hit, since she wasn't sure her sister would agree. Not that that would be anything new...she hadn't exactly had that bestest best friends relationship with her sister; not now and not ever. But she didn't want her angry at her, so she wisely remained silent.
Her ear twitched, and she nodded. "Yes, I think so. Thank you, Xiven." She began to walk back towards the room she'd left Falks, Ben, and Vaska in, then paused. "See you around, Sis." Oddly enough, she felt no need to add anything snarky about what a 'nice' welcome home that was. Huh. Maybe she had grown up a bit...how odd. Or maybe it was just because Xiven being her sister and a Queen meant it was a good idea to not be on her bad side.
----
"Falks? Ben? Vaska?" Hesitantly, she poked her head into the room, looking around to make sure they hadn't worked themselves into a frenzy waiting for her to return with news. "Mom is fine. She still has her Rank and her soul and all of that." It wouldn't be wise to mention the crying, so she didn't.

Xiven nodded to her sister, walking off to search for their mother. She could be anywhere in the palace by now, who knew where the woman was hiding? With a small wave she was on her way leaving the one eared cat to her own devices.
---
Falks had finally stopped panicking, only to start up again as soon as the Torquehelm walked through the door. His eyes widened with fear before she spoke. Was Mommy okay? Had Apocalypse eaten her? He was poised and ready to ask the flood of questions until Benedict kindly bit his ear.
It was enough to make the little mix squeak. However he actually ended up hearing what Eldy had to say. His expression was still one of worry. "Are you sure she's okay?" he asked quietly.
Benedict didn't need such confirmation. Mom was going to be fine in the end. He was fairly certain that Xiven would have royally ass kicked her lover if he did anything to their mother. After all, she wore those boots for a reason, right? "Thanks Eldy," he said rather cheerfully.

It was almost impossible for anyone, little bat himself included, to be entirely sure what Vaska was thinking at any given moment. After their half-sister had departed, he had paced across the entire length of the room, muttering under his breath about how everyone around him was so silly, and they just didn't understand, and how could they when they were stupid and...
It went on for some time like that. Finally, when his pulse had returned to normal, Vaska hopped onto the windowsill, peering outside and rubbing his wing-thumbs against the glass. He wasn't sure what he was looking for. Apocalypse, perhaps. His mother. The woman who claimed to be his half-sister. A sign of any of them would have given him something to base his next big freak-out on, and the boy was always eager for that. Besides, staring out the window like this made him feel as if he was doing something more than just waiting and freaking out like Falks was so skilled at doing.
He tapped his foot against the glass when he heard the door open, glaring over his shoulder at the Torque feline. So like their mother, but so different. Very different. Too different.
So he ignored her, for the time being, swinging his body over to the curtains, which he climbed with no shortage of scraping and scrabbling. Once he'd reached the top, he swung onto the curtainrod into a more usual and comfortable position to stare out the window. It was painfully obvious, from his stance, that he was trying very hard to ignore Eldy.

At first, concentrating as she was on making sure everyone was calm and stayed that way, Eldy didn't even notice the crazy little bat, instead focusing on the bound cat with the skull on his tail. She gave him a reassuring, if somewhat tired, smile. "Yes, Falks. She's going to be perfectly fine. I saw her myself and there wasn't even a scratch on her, Heart's honor." She lifted her paw in a gesture of salute, face serious. She nodded to Ben, feeling suddenly exhausted from everything that had happened this day. It was then that she noticed the conspicuous absence of her other half-brother, and her ear went back in confusion as she looked around for him.
"Vaska?" she called, wondering if he could have left the room. But no, surely Ben and even Falks would have prevented that from happening, since she couldn't imagine it was very good for someone that...insane to be out alone. Then, she saw him. Clinging upside down in the odd way bats had at the window. Whiskers twitching, she padded over to the window, looking up at him, still very confused. She'd have expected him to be freaking out now, maybe accusing her of other ridiculous things or inventing more powers for Apocalypse. But this...this was something else entirely.
"Vaska, what are you doing up there?"

Falks expression still remained worried as he looked over his sister. Was she telling the truth? Or would they be finding their mother dead outside the door? His nose twitched furiously as he went through the various horrible scenarios. What if the scary man came after them for pay back? What if Mommy was really hurt and didn't tell anyone? What if...
He snapped back to reality when he watched the cat pad over to the window. Right, Vaska had been pacing and then he climbed on the window. The cat mix watched his siblings curiously. What was Eldy going to do?
Benedict was more than convinced that everything was fine. There was absolutely no reason to worry. It would be silly to get worked up over nothing like his siblings did. He watched as the Torquehelm padded across the room to speak with Vaska. "He's ignoring you for one reason or another, but most likely he's ignoring you because of his paranoia."

Vaska was quickly finding that it was hard to pretend to ignore Eldy when he really did want to know what she was saying. His ears twitched as he hung there, focusing hard on keeping his eyes locked on whatever was going on outside as he listened in to his half-sister's reassurances to his brothers. Unhurt. He hoped so. Every time he thought of that man, he just... Oooh, he got so angry and so scared, especially when it came to Peaches. It was no secret that he hated her!
He wasn't expecting that the feline would actually call out to him, and he yelped softly, eyes going even wider as he turned to look at her. It only took a second before he realized, of course, that by reacting, he was no longer ignoring her, and he shuffled his wings in a flustered manner as he locked his gaze back on the window. "I'm allowed to look out my own window." The boy snapped, his voice rising in pitch as he spoke, a clear sign of exactly how flustered he felt about being tricked into breaking his concentrated efforts of ignoring her. Then, as an afterthought to Ben's comment, he muttered, "Your mom's paranoid."
Movement in the gardens caught his eye, however, and the boy's mouth fell open as he watched the pale figure and the short, darker one walk out into the flowers together. He turned to glance back at Eldy.
"Pale's snogging Heilyn's weapon in the garden again." He complained. "Why's he doing that?"

Eldy sighed, realizing that Ben was right, and the kid was purposefully ignoring her. Her tail lashed fom side to side in agitation. Vaska was certainly a head case, that was for sure. Her ear went back and her purple eyes narrowed at his harsh response. She nearly hissed, but took a few deep breaths to calm down. Inwardly, she lamented the fact that she just -had- to have annoying little brothers. Suits.
"Oh, I'm very sorry, Vaska, you're right. Please, look all you like," she managed to say in a level tone, turning back to her other siblings. Two could play at the ignoring game, after all. She was about to say something else to Ben, the only sane one of this little bunch, when Vaska spoke again. Oh, so he was done ignoring her and back to asking idiotic questions? Without thinking, she snapped her answer. "Because he's a dirty man-whore, that's why."
Oh, Suits. That wasn't a good word to use in front of children at all. Not that Peaches really bothered to censor her language when they were kids, but... She sighed a bit. "Pretend you didn't hear that. And please, don't start watching people 'snog'." That was one of Peaches' quirks none of her children needed to be picking up.

Benedict would have rolled his eyes if it were at all possible. "She's your mother too dipstick," he said flatly before shaking his head. Honestly what was wrong with his siblings? He knew for a fact Falks hadn't been dropped on his head as a child, but he couldn't help but wonder about Vaska half the time.
Falks squeaked at the words "man-whore." Didn't Mommy say that it was bad to call people names like that, even if it was true? He was about to say something when his sister correct herself. Then he finally processed the information about Pale. "Ewww. Why does Scary Sister Xiven go out with him if he just cheats on her all the time?"
Benedict would have rolled his eyes again. "Anyway, Eldy, are you stuck baby sitting us for the evening or is Mom going to pop around eventually? Or maybe Dad since he's more responsible?"

As much as Vaska was a master of all things, he was not very good at hiding his confusion. He turned on the bar so that he wasn't facing the window but instead the room, his upside-down face positively radiating bewilderment. What - but - he knew he wasn't supposed to say things like that, but he still knew what they meant, so...
He hardly even heard what Falks had asked, to absorbed instead in a question of his own that was just waiting for its chance to escape. When his brother's voice had tapered off, the little bat started in almost at once. "Yeah, and why does she pay him for THAT? And couldn't she make him have a shower? He always smells funny. Miss Heilyn says it's natural but she makes me have a shower when I smell bad from sweating." Then he paused, eyes narrowing suspiciously. "That's natural too, right?"
It was weird, staring at them all from upside-down, but if he came down at this point, that would mean that he'd lost the fight against Eldy. Vaska wasn't okay with that, so he tightened his grip on the metal pole and stuck his tongue out at Ben. "I know that, stupidhead." Was his cunning retort. He went silent again, thinking about it.
Eldy? Look after them? He didn't want that. He wanted his papa, but his papa was probably off being very busy with important things. More important than him? ...It didn't seem possible, but... Vaska felt his eyes start to want to water, so he rubbed them with his wing-thumbs. Seth wouldn't abandon them for something important, he was sure. Not unless it was really, really really really, important. "Or Alex. Alex can babysit us. We don't need her."
