Eldy was torn between feeling smug since Seth had agreed to help, just as she had TOLD her mother he would...and feeling very awkward at all the lovey-doveyness suddenly in the room. Um. Yeah. Her ears went back and she hopped lightly and silently off the chair she was perched on, turning to her sister in time to see her mouth something. She could not, in fact, read lips, but based on what she herself was feeling, and the expression on Xiven's face, she could guess what she had said well enough.
She nodded to the other cat, and began walking for the door, posture decidedly sneaking. Maybe though...maybe this would cause their mother to, in a fit of good will toward her fellow Cards, forget all about their little...disagreement? Well, hey, Eldy could dream, couldn't she? Once outside of the room, she breathed a sigh of relief. After a brief 'farewell' to her sister, the cat slunk back into the shadows.
------
Eldryia looked up at the Court with no small amount of trepidation. How long had it been since she'd been here? Months? A year, even? She'd rather lost track of time on her journey. She didn't look that different...a bit more scraggly and leaner, maybe...oh and there was the fact of her ear being bitten off. With a sigh, she walked past the familiar gate, slipping past the guards easily despite it having been a while.
The only question in her mind would be if she'd find her mother first, or if it would be the other way around.

(( OOC: XD; hope this is okay. ))
Peaches was avoiding just about everything today as she stalked around. She did not want to deal with children, paperwork, or responsibility. She just wanted to curl up in a ball and sleep. But of course that wasn't about to happen. Sitting in a tree near the gate she took note of the purple and black figure coming towards the palace.
Well there's a shocker. Her daughter was coming home? Or was it some random Torque with a similar binding? She would wait until whoever it was would enter the gate before hopping out of the tree.
When the feline came closer Peaches gave a small inaudible sigh. Damn. From the looks of it her daughter had gotten into a bit of trouble. A lot of trouble. Wow. Without warning Peaches jumped out of the tree, making a graceful landing a few feet behind her daughter. "What did you do to yourself?"

Eldy was proud of herself...though the hair on the back of her neck stood up slightly, she didn't jump in surprise as her mother's voice suddenly came from behind her. She had probably been half expecting it. Her good ear twitched and she turned, slowly, to regard her mother with a level look.
"Apparently, I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong pissy ex-Weapon," she said calmly, though her eyes flashed at the memory. Oh, she was still very much mad at Apocalypse. She planned to do a bit of snooping and, one way or another, find out what exactly had gone on with that, though she'd drawn her own conclusions in the time she'd had to think about it. But she still had more questions than answers and she'd thought about her brief encounter from every possible angle.
It would be nice to get a more-or-less straight explanation from her mother instead of having to spy around to get the facts. Especially if that rumor she'd picked up in an Inn in the Highlands on the way over held any weight...and Eldy really hoped it didn't! Her sister and Pale...just...eurgh. No.
((ooc: the kids can come in soon, Eldy just needs a bit of resolution on her scars and such first...XD;; ))

Despite the length of time that Eldy had been gone, Peaches had not been told of the incident. Xiven had made sure to keep it a well guarded secret since Pale had confessed. And if Peaches had known that it only would have made her angrier. She was already furious that that man was not only sleeping with her daughter, but had maimed her rather nicely.
A brief hint of red crawled across her face. Furry was building up fairly quickly. The tone in her voice was one that Eldy had never been privileged to before. In fact very few people had actually been around when the cat got angry.
"What?" she almost snarled. It wasn't hard to connect all of the the dots. Part of her wanted to scream. The other part of her wanted to find Pale and chop off his manhood. "He did that to you?"

Wow. Eldryia had never seen her mother get -that- angry before...she couldn't help but flinch at the tone in her voice, one remaining ear going back in protest at the hiss. Part of her felt somewhat flattered that all this was on her behalf. Or was it? She remembered the rumor again and suddenly felt ill.
"Yes," she said somewhat more meekly, though her eyes flashed slightly. "He seemed to think even my word as a Heart wasn't good enough to know I was going to keep his precious little secret, and wanted to threaten me, you, and then leave a scar just so I would remember all of it." She hissed slightly, her tone angrier as it went along. She thought it would probably be a good idea to wait to actually ask for clarification on what, exactly, the secret she was supposed to be keeping was all about...then again she wanted to know before her mother went and strangled Apocalypse, which she looked quite ready to do.
"...the irony is, I probably know less about what happened than anyone else at the Palace." She eyed her mother carefully, judging if it was safe to ask. However, she thought she had a shot at getting told just because Peaches was so angry at Pale that she might tell her just to spite him. Or something. "I think I kinda understand but...what....what happened to Rhiannon?" It was a puzzle that had haunted her thoughts through many lonely nights. She was, after all, a Cat, and very curious about any mystery that was set before her. She was also puzzled by the other thing Apocalypse had said, about Peaches and what she'd supposedly done to him, but she had better sense than to ask about -that.- Yet.

Peaches fists, though out of sight, were balled up in rage. She stared at her daughter as she tried to remain calm. Right now she just wanted Pale dead. She just wanted to break his neck if at all possible. And Eldy was only proving to make things worse.
Breath. She just needed to calm down and breath.
It wasn't really working.
The woman made a strangled sound as she looked at her daughter. "Use your head. If he's a Card now, what do you think happened to Rhiannon? More importantly why didn't you come home to tell me about this?" The wound didn't look new. In fact it looked old. Enough that she had waited for a while. Why hadn't she sent a letter? Anything. Peaches could feel the fury building.
She wanted to kill that man for hurting her babies.
"I'm going to kill him. I really am."

Eldy shrunk again under her mother's rage. She didn't fear very much in her life, but there was still something about her mother's fury that stuck terror in her heart. Even if it wasn't directed at her. Or well, not entirely at her.
"Uh...well, if he's a Card, but he used to be a weapon...she would be...his weapon now?" Eldy looked up at Peaches with wide eyes. It -was- something she'd considered but it had just not seemed possible to her. There was just something so wrong and unnatural about it. The Summoned becoming the Summoner? It sent little prickles of uneasiness down her spine to think too hard about it, so she hadn't entertained the notion for long.
"Well I..." Eldy's head drooped a bit. Why -hadn't- she informed anyone of her confrontation? Had the threats scared her more than she really cared to admit? "I guess I just thought...it was too soon to come home or anything." She shrugged in what she hoped was an innocent, rage-quelling gesture. "It...it happened while I was sick from vising Yarrow...I was walking through the Highlands and..." She broke off into mumbling. "Sorry, Mom, I should have told you."
She didn't know how to respond to that, though...although two nobles locked in a battle to the death that wasn't over the Queenship wouldn't be what the Court really needed. Then again, they -were- both Hearts. Heh.

Peaches was trying very hard not to hyperventilate. For whatever reason this had made her furious, and it had been years since she had ever been this mad at anyone or anything. Of course a fight between two nobles wouldn't help the political situation. But that didn't make her feel better.
She wanted to smash his face in. That would make her feel better.
Taking several deep breaths she looked down at her daughter. The ear was impossible to ignore. It just made her more angry. That man. That damn man. First he had abused Xiven and now he had gone so far as tearing her siblings ear off? Peaches was practically shaking with fury. What gave him the right to abuse her little girls?
Better question why was she so damn protective all of a sudden? Perhaps it was because she didn't want to lose either of them... and the path both of them were taking just seemed....
"I think we should go inside now," Peaches suddenly announced as she moved past her daughter as she struggled to push down the urge to tear someone's face off.

Eldy, for her part, had never felt so cowed, so...young, in years. Seeing her mother's rage was really something she'd hoped to avoid, or so she would have thought if she'd ever seen it in the past and known how bad it was. Part of her was actually...oddly enough...a bit scared for Pale. As much as she disliked him and wanted him to suffer, she wasn't sure she wanted him to -die-. Plus, didn't he have some sort of child from that encounter with whoever it was her mother had supposedly forced him to screw? Personally Eldy didn't quite see why it so upset him, still. It wasn't like he hadn't slept around with just about everyone. She shuddered slightly. The thought of someone like that with her sister was still so...wrong.
Her thoughts were interrupted when Peaches briksly announced what they should do and pushed past her, and Eldy looked up, ear flat against her skull. "Okay," she said, and stalked quietly after her mother as she lead the way into the palace. Hopefully, this meant she was calmer now and...no, no she definitely looked just as upset, if not moreso than before.

Her fury wasn't fading as she walked down the hallway. The rage was only building as she thought about the stupid man. Yes, she had used her ability on him and he managed to get pregnant. That was nothing in comparison to the damage he had done to her children. Her babies.
And what would happen if he ever found out that poor little Falks was a Club? It was a good thing that no one knew in the first place. She wasn't about to announce that she had given birth to something so horrible. Her Heart pride was wounded enough thanks to the boy's... odd mutation of his other sibling on his... tail. Her rage only fizzled for a moment at the thought.
She still wanted to make Pale pay. If she had been in any other form her hair would be standing on end. When they reached the nursery she paused to look down at Eldy. "Mind if I leave you with your siblings while I go and take care of something?"
