Now, that... That smile was utterly unnerving, and it made Aimili want to creep away from the man. But she didn't, knowing that she would just back herself against his bone-tails again. Instead, she choked back her distress and smiled at him again, her brows peaking with worry as he ears pinned themselves back.
The sooner she could get a little distance between them, the better. Her attention for now, however, was on the pain in her stomach.
She needed to eat something, and the idea of getting food from him made it just a little easier for Aimili to tolorate the bizzare canine that had found her. The things he was describing... Before, she almost never ate meat, preferring a bowl of delicious and mild clover, or any other fruit, vegetable, or grain. However, she felt her mouth begin to water and she licked her lips before she actually started to drool.
She was hungry, and she was made only too aware of what her other meal options were by Jakodi'd descriptions. Her stomach growled and she gave him an embarassed smile, tail giving a nervous wag. She wanted food, her old diet be damned. "That sounds great." she replied, finally. "I'll have.. I'll have whatever you decide on.[/b]"

More smiles! And more! Excellent! She was getting him all excited with her happy and her willingness to share a meal. He had enough coins on him for two plates of whatever from this place. They were cheap and they gave you big portions for less money. In the grand scheme of things, the food was mediocre to crappy, but when you came in just wanting to be full without getting sick then it was the most utterly perfect restaurant in the whole city as far as he was concerned.
Tail! Wag!
"Awesome!" he agreed with a high-pitched giggle, ushering her into the building. Since he'd never worn this body in before, much less his "own" tails, he was treated like a new customer and with some distance by the waitress.
Oh, whatever. Different bodies got different reactions. If anyone, he knew that to a tee. He'd studied it. He'd had to. The first few times getting kicked out of places because he wore the brown skin with the rot - the Lowlander skin - had been distressing enough to make him learn.
Ten minutes later, two bowls of water and two plates piled high with steaming meatloaf and mashed potates were delivered with a metric ton of gravy globbing the top. Just how he'd ordered it. He let out a high-pitched whine of glee before diving into his food.

There were no words to describe how utterly terrible this whole situation was. Now that she was inside, around other people, Aimili realized exactly how grimy she felt - and probably was, considering how long it'd been since she'd had a proper bath, with shampoo and soap. She sunk into herself ever so slightly, her eyes worried and bright under her brows. But her smile - she had to make sure that didn't falter or fade, oh no. She wasn't sure she could deal with the strange person's attempts to cheer her a little more.
So she waited for the food, keeping what she hoped to be an agreeable expression on her face, occasionally glancing at the waitstaff nervously. They didn't seem to recognize her companion, which was both a blessing and a curse.
But then her silence was broken by the arrival of food, and Aimili's stomach did another terrific growl even as her mind rebelled. All of that grease! At home, they'd never be served such a disgusting, greasy pile of food, but... Here, it was the best she was going to get, and her companion seemed to be setting into it well enough. She took a bite, a small one, testing. Then she took another.
The next thing she knew she was happily taking mouthful after mouthful of it. It'd make her sick, she was sure, but it was warm and filling. The sound of her tail wagging was a soft beat, a happy sound against the booth. Swallowing a bite, she turned her attention on the strange man. Maybe he wasn't so bad? Then, she blushed. "Er... I just realized, I don't know your name." Her ears drooped slightly. "I'm Aimili. Thank you for the food.[/b]"

Jak hadn't noticed her initial revulsion at the food, too busy gleefully scarfing down his own meal. He didn't get to go out to eat anywhere often. They didn't have the money, all of the support from Grampa going into getting them that apartment house thing. It was theirs now and they didn't owe anybody anything, but they also didn't have a steady job between them. He'd just really, really fancied a meal. Here. With her. Heeeehehehe.
The thump of her tail on the seat made him glance up from his grease-smeared plate, red eyes watching her curiously. Oh, hey, look at that. She was eating just as happily as she was! Perfect!
"Ohhhh, hey, that's great about the food! And, uh, nice name. Aimili. I'm. Uh. I'm..." He stared at her blankly for a moment, his oddness making it hard to tell whether he was genuinely trying to remember his name or if he was making one up on the spot. "I'm Kory. Heh. Yeah. Great to meet you all formal like and stuff."
